Headaches on Atkins...............

DH has been doing Atkins for now about 4 months now. He has been "stalling" in the weightloss department for about 1 1/2 months now.

He is experiencing bad headaches lately. He says they start at the base of his skull and sort of feel like whiplash. Last night he ate some pasta and "carbed out" a little and today his headaches are gone.

I have not been able to stay on ATkins that long so I did not experience anything like that. Only the headaches from Carb withdrawal!!

Any suggestions?????

Is he eating primarily beef and eggs? They both contain arachidonic (sp?) acid. If too much of this acid builds up in your body, it can cause headaches and itchy skin rash. Lay off the beef and eggs for a couple days and see if that helps. Then reintroduce them in smaller quantities.

Also, make sure he's drinking his water to flush his system.
