I hate when people ask for medical advice on the board but I guess I am about to become one of them.
I will more than likely see my own doctor tomorrow if things don't improve but sometimes it helps if others can reassure you that you are probably fine.
Background:
Both of my kids were sick last week with fevers of 101+. My DD was sick first and her fever lasted about 2 days and then she broke out in a terrible rash. She was fussy but she is too young to tell me if anything hurt. I took her to the doctor on Thurs and they think she just had a virus that would run its course.
DS then became sick on Thursday with the fever and he also had some vomiting. He also complained a lot that his head really hurt. He was also seen at the doctors on Thursday (because I got the call to pick him up from daycare while on my way to the doctor with DD). She also diagnosed him as having the same virus and figured they both would be better by Monday. DS continued to complain about his head hurting until Saturday.
Then I got sick. Starting Saturday night I started getting a very weird headache unlike any other one I remember. By last night I was running a 101 temp and my head was really hurting. It hurt just to move my head at all. The headache has been concentrated toward the front of my head but seriously any movement at all was PAINFUL. I started taking Ibuprofen on Saturday night and it was not helping at all. Finally I was hurting so bad last night that my DH is desperation went into our medicine cabinet and found some Tylenol 3 I had leftover from my c-section. I have been taking 2 of those since late last night every 6 hours or so. They take the edge off (one didn't work) but I still have quite a bit of pain when I move my head much. If I keep my head still it is not too bad but standing up or shifting positions causes some pretty decent pain in the front/top of my head.
I keep thinking this has to be what my kids had especially since my DS complained about his head hurting so much but I don't ever recall have a headache like this that would not go away with meds. This is not a migraine or at least not like ones I have had in the past and I don't have any light sensitivity or upset stomach (except when I take Tylenol 3 on an empty stomach....bad idea). My DS has been fine since Sunday so I keep thinking that by tomorrow or so this should all go away but it still seems strange.
Have any of you had a virus that caused this kind of a headache? Have any of you had this same virus going around? While laying awake at night I keep thinking things like brain tumor, meningitis, aneurysm, etc.. but then I think I am crazy. I know head pain is not something to ignore and if my kids had not been sick with something similiar recently I probably would have gone to the doctor today. I just really would hate to go to the doctor to be told I have the same virus as my kids had just a few days ago.

From one Becky to another, hope you and the kidlets feel better soon.
) but since they did not have the blisters that ruled that out. She said that it was just one of those nice viral things that you just have to treat symptomatically and wait for it to go away.
