Headache virus thing?

I haven't heard anything...do you have other symptoms? Hope you feel better soon!

Yep dh and I both have it. People at work do too. What has been helping dh and I is to eat something salty. I know it sounds crazy but it works. A handfull of chips or something works wonders.

How long does it last? Tylenol is barely working. My husband went out to get us Subway, so I'll be eating the chips, hopefully that will work. My head hurt so bad last night I was thinking about going to the hospital.

Do you have a fever? Cold? If it's just head pain, I WOULD go to ER.

I have a very slight fever. No cold, but some pressure in the sinus area on one side of my face. I'm sure it's just a virus type thing. I've never had a migraine and I rarely get headaches so I'm probably just a wuss when it comes to having one.

yes there are several variations of a theme going around! My DD had the bad headache, tired, sinus type thing, my DH had the fever, sore chest, achy thing, my DS had the headache, sore throat, tired, fever one and I have the more like a head cold, achy type. We have had a lot of fun around here all week. I'm just hoping it makes me immune for my annual Christmas cold.

Take 2 Excedrin Migraine and wash it down with a coke or pepsi (NOT diet). The caffeine in the soda combined with the ingredients in the Excedrin (aspirin, tylenol and caffeine) will kick out most headaches.

Hope you feel better soon!

My 13 yr old had something similar the week of Thanksgiving. He had a splitting / migraine strength head ache that Motrin couldn't touch. He was also exhausted. No fever. After a few days he had a sore throat too. But that went away quickly. The Dr tested for strep and also Mono and both came back negative. After about 5 days he started beginning to feel normal again.

I hope you feel better soon!

I've been popping Advil Cold and Sinus (with the real pseudaphed) since Thursday and have been chasing that with extra Advil. Mine has been a terrible sinus headache that actually triggered a migraine night before last. I slept all day today and am finally getting some relief. Hang in there. If it continues, go to the doctor. Better safe than sorry.

I can vouch for this method. I get migraines every so often & the Excedrin's been the only thing I've taken that has headed it off.

We've had a similar cold going around. A couple of us had the fever, all had the sore throat & coughing. Half of us ended up with plugged up ears, with a ringing noise. Three ear infections (me included).

They just did hearing checks on my kindergartener & his classmates, and even though we told them his ears were plugged up due to the cold, we still received a letter today saying he failed the hearing test. No duh. He passed at the doctor's office a couple months ago so I'm not worried about it.

We had it awhile back, the headache was the worst part, it lasted about a week for me, then I got a sore throat, etc., but the headache was definitely the worst.

I have been fighting something too. I can't tell if it's pregnancy related or a cold thing. I have the achy throat, stuffy nose (probably pregnancy) and soreness through my upper and lower back. Just over-all achiness and tired. I usually drink a ton of OJ and get a lot of vitamin C but lately I haven't and I wonder if that could be part of it too. I NEVER get colds!

I've had it for a couple days...starts in my sinuses - then becomes a migraine (anything in my sinuses turns into my worst ever migraines!!!).

That's a cool map! I love stuff like that!!!

This thread is interesting to me, 'cause for the first time in my life, I've had terrible headaches every day for four days. Not migranes...I can tolerate light and walk around and such...but really bad! Swallowing pills all over the place. Going to the doctor Monday. :)

...misery loves company. ;)

I'm so glad I read this thread. I've had a headache all week. Today its a bit better, but not gone. I've had a lot of pressure behind my ears, not an ear ache exactly, but sort of. And migrine type pain in other parts of my head. Some sinus pressure as well. Its been really weird. Today, like I said, the pain was a bit better, but I felt sort of dizzy or light headed. And I've been tired and cranky.

Youngest DD had it a couple weeks ago. I posted about it cause I was so worried about her. It seemed to be her only symptom. Had the doctor stumped. It lasted about 4 days, then went away completely. Hope you feel better soon! Get some rest and stay hydrated. :grouphug:

I was wondering why I have had a headache every day for the last few days.....I usually only get one or two a month.
