Not to sound dumb, but if you do DVC at WDW, can't you do the same at the Grand California Hotel at DLR?

I thought the same thing...why not do VGC? They have full kitchens, are on-site and they have room configurations available with a separate bedroom. You should be able to use your points instead of paying for the room at GCH, right? (I'm not a DVC member though)

Yes we have tried the DVC route at GCV - but there is only 1 night of the 8 that I need. I might waitlist the whole thing and pray like heck it comes through, but I doubt that would ever happen. And yes, DVC can book at any DVC resort no matter where it is. The issue comes into play when the resort you want is not your home resort and you cannot book it until 7 months out. By that time the really popular ones are gone.
