HE Laundry detergent and fabric softener

I like everything!! I don't use liquid fabric softener so I can't help you there.

I mainly use Tide. If I've got particularly smelly clothes, I go with Gain as it seems to freshen up the worst things.

I also like the Method pump HE detergent. The pump is so convenient.

I make my own laundry soap and use white vinegar in place of fabric softner. Clothes are clean and soft, best of all nobody itches anymore!:thumbsup2

I like the tide scented ones. The purple one that has febreeze in it is good and now everyone likes the sport one with the dark blue cap.

I just use downey dryer sheets.

DD and I have crazy sensitive skin so I use All Free and Clear HE and Downy Free with no perfumes or dyes. I really think the clothes are cleaner with less water and detergent since we bought the new washer/dryer.:laundy:

I have to use Cheer HE b/c it has no optical brighteners, which are no-no's for DH's reserves uniforms. It dos a pretty good job, but I wish Arm and Hammer would make an HE. That was my favorite detergent back in the day.

I haven't been able to find the Tide Sport with Febreze in the HE formulation. Are you finding it at any specific store?

Arm and Hammer does have an HE! I buy it (the fragrance and dye free one) when it's on sale!

I also use All Free and Clear, but my favorite is the Method pump! I've washed all my baby stuff in their unscented version, so hopefully the baby's skin likes it as well!

I use Purex, mostly due to the lower cost. I think we may try the Gain or the newer Tides though.

Where do you find the Arm and Hammer for HE, I haven't found it anywhere? I have tried the ALL free and clear and not really happy with it, it doesn't clean DH's clothes well. I bought some ERA and so far I have been happy with it and it is about half the price of the other brands.

I have been using Purex fabric softner and really like it.

I would love to do this- How do you know how much to use? Do you have a "recipe" for HE washers? I am always scared with the recipes I see on line since they don't say if they work for HE washers.

I use Method or Seventh Generation depending on what is on sale.

I like the Wisk HE detergent. It gets tough spots out of clothes. I also really like Purex Sweet Lavender and Cotton fabric softener. The smell is very pleasant.

lol i could have written this post! i have the same sensitive skin and use both of those.

it was also great because i use it for my son. i didn't want to have to buy dreft too!

and i always knew when my mom changed detergents...i scratched and itched so much.

I buy mine at Safeway, but I just googled it and apparently they also sell it at Lowe's, Walmart, and Kmart. I actually bought it by mistake once, before we had our HE washer, when I just grabbed a bottle off the shelf when I was in a hurry, so it can't be that hard to find!

What do you use and like???

I really like the one that is sold at Target....I think it is their brand. Not sure.

I also never fill to the max line, only about 1/2 way. Clothes are always clean and fresh.

I use All Free & Clear, but I'm intrigued by this. I am thinking about starting to make my own laundry soap. Would you mind sharing your "recipe"?

I use the Purex 3-n-1 Laundry Sheets in my HE washer and love them! I've used them since they first came out and will be sending them with DS when he goes to college this fall.
