so I was in TCBY this afternoon to pick up dessert for tonight. and while I was standing there the manager was having a discussion with a customer.
the customer was adult male, maybe 45-50 years old. he'd ordered a child-sized yogurt with sprinkles. after he'd paid for his yogurt, he asked the manager "just how much are the toppings anyhow?"
"$.65," she told him, "it's been that price for years."
"but it's not posted on the menu," he said. "and it's not fair to charge the same to put topping on a small yogurt as it is to put it on a large yogurt. I want you to refund the money I paid for the sprinkles."
"I can't do that, sir, but I can give you back $.25."
"fine, I'll take it." and she handed him a quarter.
I wanted so badly to tell him to put the quarter into United Cerebral Palsy donation box on the counter.
