My DH and I are taking a trip in April with my family. We are going to break away for one night to have a romantic dinner. We are still newlyweds. The question is, which Signature to choose? He LOVES steak, I don't eat it. I LOVE fish, he doesn't eat it. He mentioned it being 'nice', and he said it would be nice to see fireworks or a 'show'. Help! :confused3

Out of left field I would pick Hoop Dee Doo. It's not typical romantic but we went right after getting engaged and on our honeymoon and on top of it being fun they brought us into the show both times in a romantic way. We got sang to both times and had to dance in front of everyone. The food is not anything really good but it's a blast. Probably one of the funnest things at Disney.

I'm curious to hear some of the suggestions. I too will be eating at my first Signature with my g/f in October and would really like to pick a winner! It's very rare when you're able to sneak away from the kids for a few, but I'm gonna send them off with my parents and I'd really like to know where some of the better Sigs are too!

If you'd like to incorporate fireworks into your dinner then getting reservations at the right time for Narcoossee's or California Grill would be the best picks. Both have steak and seafood. IMO California Grill is the better of the two. Check out their menus on-line to see which would appeal to the two of you more.

The California Grill, Flying Fish, and Victoria and Alberts if you don't mind tge price.

I would suggest California Grill. Every time we hav been the food and service have been great! We time it for the fireworks and this just adds more to the meal and the night itself. We tried Narcoossees opn our last trip and while it was not bad, it just was not comparable.

The first thing that came to mind is Flying Fish because they have an amazing steak (Char-crusted Ribeye) and lots of fish options.

Time your ADR right and it's a short walk over to Epcot to watch Illuminations after your meal.

Signatures are not about entertainment outside of a good dining experience. So if you want a show most of all, you're better off heading to a non-signature or dinner show.

California Grill and Narcoossee's offer views of the MK fireworks.
It's a short walk from Citricos to an area at GF where you can view the MK fireworks.

My favorite signatures, ranking the overall food quality and service, out of the ones I've been to:

1) Citricos
2) Flying Fish and Jiko
4) California Grill and bluezoo
6) Brown Derby
7) Artist Point
and way down the list is Narcoosee's.

I was kind of leaning towards Citricos. I've been intrigued by the menu. Also Narcooses is one that I was very interested in...NO ressies for Cali Grille or Le Cellier are open.

We are staying AT the Boardwalk, so Flying Fish is def an option...

I just don't want to strike out on this one. I should also have used the word "show". I think he means more like fireworks.

If you're interested in Citricos, why not dine there and then go watch the fireworks from the marina? That sounds pretty romantic.

If fireworks are a must, then Citricos would be good. You'll need to go outside tho if you want to see the fireworks. Narcoossee's only if Citricos is unavailable--

Jiko and the California Grill are my favorites, but since you're staying at the Boardwalk, I'm tempted to suggest Bluezoo ... with a few drinks and song requests at Jellyrolls afterward.

My fiance and I were deciding which signature restaurant to go to ourselves, and we finally decided on Citricos. We haven't eaten there, but know people who have, and loved it. I haven't heard anything but good reviews - and it looks so pretty.
We ate at Narcoossee's and liked it, but I think Citricos will feel more upscale.
A lot of people suggest California Grill - we've been a few times and for us the food wasn't consistent (so we might not be back for awhile), but others love it!
I have also heard wonderful things about Flying Fish Cafe.

I agree with you mentioning these two; they are my two favorites. However, IMO I'll flip your order of preference and go Narcoossee's first and then California Grill. :goodvibes

Flying Fish at the boardwalk would be perfect. They have one steak dish that I think is the best steak on property. & they have very good fish dishes for you. Its one of my 2 favorite restaurants on property. Their apps, entrees & desserts are excellent. We ate there twice last time (November). The other is Cali Grill but we didn't like the steak they had at all.
