HDDR - *getting there* question...

We are going to HDDR for the first time May 30th - We are spending the day at Epcot and we will have a car. Having never been there before I am wondering what the best plan is?
Should we park at Epcot for the day, then drive the car over to Ft. Wilderness? Or should we park at MK? then use the monorial to get back and forth from Epcot to MK and take the boat over?

1) Any of you choices will do - I prefer boat from MK.
2) If parkig at Epcot
. . . exit Epcot
. . . folow signs to Magic Kingdom
. . . tell parking lot attendat at MK, you are going to FW
. . . bear to the right
. . . turn right at first light
. . . FW parking on right sapprox 1/2 mile
. . . take internal bus to Pioner Hall
3) Of course you could just take the boat from MK after monorail from Epcot.

I would probably park at TTC and take the monorail to/from the MK and EPCOT and take the boat over to Ft Wilderness from the MK. That would be much easier especially if you are at a later show.

No way I'd park at these far off places-it would take forever to get BACK to your car after the show

Does anyone know if they allow ECV's on the boat from MK to Wilderness lodge?

Another vote for driving to FW and taking the internal bus. By far the easiest way to get there!

I would park at MK if possible...then you can take the boat over to Fort Wilderness, and the HDDR isn't too far from the boat launch

Plus taking the boat is really fun (IMO ha)

It depends on the boat. The larger motor cruisers will take wheelchairs and ECVs without transfers. The smaller motor launches cannot handle ECVs and require transfer from a wheelchair and strollers to be folded. Both types of boats run, but you may have to wait longer if you need to take the ECV.
