Our family has been to Disney many, many times, but during our recent trip in January we tried one of the dinner shows for the first time, the Spirit of Aloha. We absolutely loved it! So I was thinking for our next trip maybe we should try the Hoop-Dee-Doo. However, it will just be myself (22), my parents, and my 2 sisters (23 and 16), so basically everyone is an adult. Is this show geared toward children or could a group of adults enjoy it as well?

Also, we are not outgoing people, is there a lot of audience involvement? I am just afraid that would make my parents uncomfortable.

Thanks for any insight! :goodvibes

Oh yes!!! It is a little silly and you will have a great time(sometimes you get picked to go on stage-they usually pick a child, a young lady, young man , and usually an older man), I guess you could decline. There is some audience participation, hand clapping, washboard rubbing, where are you from? But I think you will be safe. We have gone a few times, and I always enjoy the show. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It's def for all ages. I saw it as a child and an adult and loved it (for different reasons) at all of them. There are lots of things that go right over children's heads, as well.

They will discreetly come ask people to participate and you can politely tell them no if they ask - no issues there. I don't like doing that stuff, either, but DH did =)

It's a great time, really. We love it!

Do we have any chance at getting a good table at this point? Our vacation is July 23-August 6. I know that is a very busy time and there are probably people who reserved this dinner show 6 months ago. Should I even bother? It is a lot of money to get a bad table...

We took a party of 16 on April 3. Because you pay when making ressie, I called regularly to check availability and booked when it was getting close. I believe they assign tables when you make the ressie to a large extent, and can tell you when you call about what/where is available.

One word on audience involvement. They don't necessarily give anyone a heads-up on being involved. One of my DBIL got into the act where one of the lead women sets on his lap and interacts. I knew by the way he was setting sorta in the aisle with his chair turned away from the table that he was likely to be "chosen". He handled himself just fine. ENJOY!

So since we will be in Disney for 2 weeks I might be able to call and tell the CM that I will take whatever night has the best table?
