HDDR directly from AK?

I'm trying to fit HDDR in my schedule. This is the first trip for DD9 and DS7 and I've never been to HDDR. It seems like such a huge favorite here so I'd like to get over to see it.

One option is to go to the 5:00 show on our AK day. But, we wouldn't have much of a 'break' then since it would make no sense to go back to our resort (BC).

So any comments on whether or not it would be crazy to do HDDR directly from AK? We won't push it at AK and will have a long lunch at TH and may also try to go to the afternoon Nemo show. We're going in September as well and there are no EMH on the day we are going. So I'm hoping it won't be so crowded and that we won't be completely 'worn out'.

Also, would it be easy to get from AK directly to HDDR? Seems like that would be much easier than trying to get there from BC!

As far as getting there from AK, that would be easy. Just take a bus from AK to Ft. Wilderness, then once you are at the fort, take an internal bus to the settlement depot where they have the HDDR. I would leave AK no later than 4 pm to give yourself plenty of time since the bus rides take a while.

It would probably be a lot harder to get there from the BC, since there are no direct busses to the resorts.

I think it's doable, as long as you plan some downtime at the park into your itinerary.

HDDR is fun and a good idea to work in to your schedule.

You might also consider taking the bus from AK to Wilderness Lodge and taking the boat to the campground.

An hour is pushing it either way you go -- if you hit the transportation cycle wrong, it might be close on time.

Have you thought about the 7:15 show? Then you'll have plenty of time, and be ready for the abundance of food! You could then add possibility of going back to BC, showering up, changing, bus to MK, then boat to the campground.
