HDDR--1st timer

The only available time is the early show at 4:15. I am fine with that but trying to figure out the best day to go so I maximize my time at Disney. We are staying off property and plan to do all 4 parks. What theme park day do you recommend to fit this in? Reading other posts it seems it takes awhile to get to/from here. Is it worth the time and $?

Do it on a MK day, as it's easier just to take the boat to FW from there. Then you can take the boat back to MK and tour it at night. Is HDDR worth it? In a word, YES!!!! It's one of our must do's; so much fun and comfort food for all ages.

My kids are young and I know we will probably spend two days at MK. I read that you don't need a full day at AK which is why I was thinking maybe do AK in the morning and then do HDDR? Is that stupid? I have no idea if that is too much traveling.
