Hi all,
We are having a mini baby boom in my family. My sister is pregnant (due in early Oct) and my SIL is also pregnant (due in early Jan). My SIL took one round of Clomid that resulted in her pregnancy, we are all happy that it was successful! Now, the doctors say that her HCg levels are quadrupling rather than doubling (I think that is how they put it), so they have scheduled her for an ultrasound on Mon.
I know that this could be a sign of a multiple pregnancy, but is there any other reason this could happen? We are obviously hoping for the former.
Also, does the Hcg level increase have any bearing on how many babies you are carrying? Like is there more Hcg for each baby or does it just show higher with any multiple pregnancy? I think we are all just hoping it is no more than twins or even triplets(due to the risks involved).
(LoL, I think my brother is hoping it is just a fluke and there is only one baby...he looks like the deer in the headlights at this point
)
They have a 5 yo who was conceived naturally, but haven't had any luck since UNTIL NOW!!!
Either way, we are all just hoping for 2 safe, healthy pregnancies with happy outcomes....
I guess we will know more on monday...very exciting, especially because I get the fun "auntie' part out of it....not the up all night part...
