Hello All,
I am traveling with small children and my parents. My mom has a health condition where she has good days and bad days. When we went before we stayed at Disney and my mom rented a Wheel Chair on her bad days; it worked out great. We were planning on doing the same this time. Though now, we are staying off site. I don't mind paying for parking if it will make it easier for my mom to enjoy herself, but would it be better to take the shuttle? She won't have a wheel chair with her when we get to the park.
Is HC parking close enough that if need be I could drop off the family and meet up with them?

We're going during a value season, does HC parking ever fill up? (yes, we'll have a hang tag)

I do want to thank you all for this wonderful board. Thanks to all of your helpful suggestions you will make this trip even more magical!

Welcome to disABILITIES. Glad you found some helpful info so far.
You might want to check first on how often the shuttles from your resort go to the parks. We haven't stayed off site in a long time, but I remember a few years ago, my BIL and SIL stayed off site and only had a few choices of shuttle times to cchoose from.
Also, try to find out some information about wheree the shuttle will let you off an how far it is from the entrance. I've seen buses parked in the lots quite a ways out, and you would not want that to be the shuttle you need.

There are drop off areas at the parks (sort of at the front of the handicapped parking area). I'm not quite sure what your question means here, so I'm not sure how to answer.

We have sometimes had to drive around a bit to find a parking spot, but we have gone the past 8 years over Spring break. Plus, we need a van accessible spot or one on the end since we need to lift DD out and put her into her wheelchair. There's not enough space between cars in a regullar spot to park her wheelchair nect to the van. If the handicapped parking area does fill up, they will park people on the ends of rows in the regular lot so that you are steps away from the tram.
The handicapped parking area does not have trams. The AK area is quite a hike to the park entrance. We have not driven to MK in a long time, but some posters have reported they were quite a ways from the monorail/boat.
To help out with this, they were doing a trial of having "loaner wheelchairs" to give peoplee to use to get from the handicapped parking area to the wheelchair rental area. I don't know if it's still going on, maybe someone who has used it recently will post.
