I called HBC to ask about transfering my points into Airmiles and they said it would take 60 days.

Has anyone ever done it and does it really take 60 days???

I took her only two weeks !

My Mom recently did this and she was told that initally it would take 60 days, but then it would be monthly after that.

I didn't know you could do that ... how many points for every mile? My mom and I have a combined card I've been using since about 15 years ago and we've never used a point yet. We have over a million ... what will that get us?? (I don't totally understand airmiles in terms of booking a trip ... how many airmiles to get to Florida? ... my dh just got us an airmiles card and I figured it take forever to get enough miles to get us anywhere good!!) ...

I am pretty sure it's 2000hbc points for every 1 airmile. You can go to their website and sign up to get it transferred automatically

As far as converting your HBC points it is 2000 HBC points for 1 Airmile as stated above. You can go online and sign up to have them transfered.

As to using Airmiles to book a trip. You need the required number of miles for the destination plus you still have to pay the taxes (Toronto to Florida = approx. $130). Judging from everything that I have been told the best way to benefit from Airmiles is to use your miles for rewards other than air tickets. I am using mine for 7 day WDW passes. If you want to rack up the miles faster get one of the Mastercards that offer Airmiles. The Westjet Mastercard allows you to use your miles for Westjet tickets with a reduced number of miles required.

We transferd HBC to airmiles a couple years ago and it took more than 30 days but i dont think much more than 30

It usually takes me about a year to earn enough air miles for four airline tickets (Wpg to Orlando on WestJet 1400 airmiles), 4 five day basic WDW passes, and four one day passes to Sea World. We put everything on our West Jest Mastercard (you need this card to get the WestJest flights for fewer airmiles) and watching the newspaper for Safeway airmiles coupons. Last winter Safeway would put out coupons buy $200 worth of groceries and get 600 airmiles. So two shopping trips is almost a flight to Orlando. I often shop at cheaper places other weeks and Safeway when there are coupons. I also have my HBC points automatically converted to airmiles but they don't add up to much. HTH, Kim
