Has anyone gone on the hayride in the Fort Wilderness resort?

We have ressies for the 7:15 PM Hoop Dee Doo dinner show. We've read that there's a hayride that leaves the Pioneer Hall and travel thru the pine forest and along the beach. Is the hayride worth it? It's $6/adult and $4/child.

Also, we've read that the Electrical Water Pageant passes by Ft. Wilderness around 9:45 PM. Can we see the pageant from the hayride?

Thanks!

The last time we did the hayride we did the late one and we went to the beach and say the EWP. It was nice and worth the $ to us. My mom's comment is be sure to get there early enough that you don't have to sit right behind the horses, though!:crazy2:

Thanks for the advice about the horses. My two girls would be holding their noses the entire ride if we were behind the horses. Our experiences with "hayrides" have been with tractors and the fumes from tractors are bad too.

We did the hay ride last September and really enjoyed ourselves. Our DD, then 3 and 6, love seeing the different trailer decorations and peeking inside some of the amazing motor homes. We plan on taking a hay ride on our trip this Aug or Sept (can't decide).

I've read that reservations are not taken. It's first come, first serve. Can those with experience please comment on the crowds and if anyone was left behind?

The four of us want to try and make the FireWorks Hayride, but I wish I had more info on when to be there in order to be sure we got on.

Any help is appreciated.
