I work for Coca-Cola and we have the ability to take advantage of a discount website as an employee. I was doing some searching earlier tonight and found a link for Hawthorne Suites in Orlando for $54/night for the dates of 4/18/10 - 4/24/10. Since this is the budget board, does this sound like a good deal? Has anyone ever stayed there? :confused3
The reviews on TripAdvisor are about 80% good, but the bad ones seem kinda nit-picky to me. The suites have a living area, full kitchen and either 1 or 2 bedrooms. They offer a free breakfast in the morning, drinks and snacks in the afternoon and shuttles by request. According to the info I can find they say they are 350 seconds from Disney.

What do you think? This would cut our hotel costs down to less than $500 with tax!! :cool1:

Thanks for the info!!

Hi fellow Marylander. We stayed at Hawthorne Suites in Lake Buena Vista this past June. I would definitely recommend it. The breakfast wasn't fancy, eggs, bacon or sausage, fruit, bagels, and a few more items. I have no complaints with the hotel. If you have any specific questions, just ask.

I'm not sure if that's the same one or not, the address is Westward Blvd., Orlando.

And - Hi!! disney1900 :o)

twice and i was extremely happy. that is a great rate, i have paid 99.00 and thought i was getting a good deal. the breakfast is great!

I stay at the Hawthorne Suites on Canada Avenue it was nice and clean and had a excellent breakfast.

I'm going to move this over to the Orlando Hotels & Attractions board. I think you'll get more information on this specific hotel on that forum.

Wow, that is a great rate. I would stay there in a heartbeat. We stayed at the one on Palm Parkway in 2007. At that time the Unofficial guide to WDW listed it at #5 for the top 30 best deals and that was at $150 a night. I believe we paid $130. We loved the space and the breakfast. My DS left his Micky crocs at the pool one night and they were there the next night when we discovered they were missing. They had sat there all day undisturbed. It made a great impression on our family.

The Hawthorne Suites on Westwood Blvd. is the one near Sea World. It's not a bad trip to WDW though as it's close to I-4.

We stayed at this Hawthorne Suites about three years ago. It is an older hotel but they had just recently refurbished all the public areas. The suites definitely show signs of wear (unless they've refurbished the suites since then also) but it was extremely clean. I liked the layout of the suites as the bedroom is separate from the kitchen/living area with it's own door. There are also two TVs which is nice with kids. I would stay there again but probably not for a full week. I believe we spent four nights there; we were booked for three and extended our stay one night.

Figmen22 - Do you mind me asking why you wouldn't stay there the whole week? We are planning on driving in on Saturday to check in, I will have 4 days of MYW w/PH tickets and 1 day at SeaWorld. And then leaving on the following Saturday morning to drive back home. I know we are gonna be closer to SeaWorld than WDW but the info on the website says they offer free scheduled shuttles to WDW.
