Hawthorn Suites Seaworld

Hi, Has anyone stayed at the Hawthorn suites, Seaworld, we have just booked a holiday there for next year cooland would like some feed back on the hotel.We stayed at the wyndham on international drive last year and loved the central location. How does the hawthorn compare for shops,places to eat etc.Also this time we are using the hotels free shuttle service to the parks instead of hiring a car how do think this will work out.

I stayed at Hawthorn Suites SeaWorld four different times. I always enjoyed it there. The pool is very nicely landscaped, and our suite was always clean. And it had a great continental breakfast, with more selections than I seen in other hotels.

But, what from I remember, there were no stores surrounding the hotel. The hotel is on Westwood Boulevard which is a four-lane road, but is much quieter than International Drive. I think I remember that Hawthorn Suites was surrounded by other hotels, I think by two long term stay hotels (ExtendStay America, I think). There are some stores on the corner of Westwood and International Drive, which is not too far to walk. I don't remember any restaurants right next to Hawthorn Suites, but there are some on International Drive, but that could be a long walk. When I stayed there, we had a car and we used it to go eat. I rode the I-trolley once when I was there to get places, but I don't know if it is still running. We never took the shuttle so I can't help out on that one.

So, sorry to say that Hawthorn is not smack next to lots of shops and restaurants (unless thet built some new ones recently), but there was shops and stuff on nearby International Drive. But the hotel is great and we always loved staying there!

thanks for your reply, it good to know that the hotel is ok although seems further away from i-drive than i initially thought, we might have to reconsider hiring a car. Do you remember how long it was to seaworld,was it within walking distance or did you have to take the car?
