My family will be visiting Aulani in March and we can't decide between scheduling a photo session with Hawaiianpix (using a $99 Groupon) or just taking advantage of the Disney PhotoPass offered at Aulani. I am not sure which would be the better value for our family. Any experiences, reviews, or suggestions about these two photo services at Aulani would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know anything about the other one but we took advantage of the photopass photographers whenever we saw them (and later bought the disc for $99) and felt it was so worth it. If the other option is just one short session, I might prefer photopass, since you can take as many photos as you want on multiple days/outfits/settings etc. We got several great family photos- some at sunset on the beach one night, some before dinner at Ama Ama another night, some fun photos in the pools, random family photos around the resort. You do have to ask them for a photo though- none ever approached us. Even the GoPro photopass photographers in the lazy river and pools didn't seem to be approaching people- they just waited to be asked, which was fine. They were all friendly. The photos aren't like super creative- only one of the photographers did some candids and one sort of different pose. But we were fine with that. Also, you might want to check and see where they will be and when if you have a day/ time in mind. They aren't always where you would expect them. Anyway hope that helps! :)

Does the photopass CD come with any Aulani stock pictures, like they do for DL?

Yes it does.

Op - I would probably go with the Photopass since they will take photos over the course (as long as you are going to stop for them) of your vacation vs. one time and spot.
