Glad I'm not trying to cruise around Hawaii this week. Earlier this week, NCL's Pride of America was supposed to dock for two nights on the Big Island, but because of Hurricane Lane the passengers had two days at sea instead.

The ship was supposed to dock in Honolulu today but will dock tomorrow, and new embarking passengers can board tomorrow or Monday -- assuming their flights to Oahu haven't been canceled or delayed. Not my idear of a fun vacation.

I hope the captain has been able to find some relatively smooth seas while they wait out the slow-moving storm.

Yes. We are 13 days from boarding Radiance of the Seas for out cruise to Hawaii. Bad weather is a chance you take. We enjoy cruising. Probably 60-70 cruises behind us, with 10 in the queue!

Hi my friend! I knew you cruised a lot but I had no idea you have sailed so many times!! Woohoo!! I hope things calm down so you can really enjoy Hawaii! Have a wonderful cruise!

Thank you! Hi, back to you!

We are retired now, I think our first cruise was around 1988....so, 30 years, and yes, average of 2 a year sounds right, but most have been in last 15 years, so now 3-4 a year is more the norm. We have cruised Baltic, Greece, Norway, Hawaii, Alaska, New England, Canada, Panama Canal, Transatlantic and Caribbean. Coming up special around South America and 2020 a 28 night cruise around Australia.

This is my goal, I would like to cruise everywhere! My parents are headed out on a world cruise in January, and I am completely jealous of them.

What an exciting retirement schedule. When I'm finished with my PhD, we hope to enjoy 2 or 3 cruises a year.

Pure awesomeness!!! So, so happy for you!! Have you ever departed from New Orleans? If so, what did you think?

Yes we did, on Carnival. Our DS and DDiL lived in the Garden District, and we visited them before and then a night after.
It was fine. What surprised us was the fact that when we woke up the first morning we were still in the channel. We did not realize how far New Orleans was from the Gulf.
I taught in U Cincinnati and we almost always took a cruise during my spring break. We also cruised out of Mobile Alabama on Carnival.
Very often school districts in the state we were sailing out of also had spring breaks. There were LOTS of children and parents on these cruises. They were not what comes to mind when people think Carnival. These were nice cruises, Western Caribbean.
