Hawaiian blooms

I probably shouldn't post this...

Hubby & I arel leaving the 18th for a week in Hawaii to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.

Has anyone been there? I'm really looking forward to the flora and fauna and plan on going on a couple of tours either with or without DH

We are going to Maui. We also got almost 50% off hotel room at the Sheraton beachfront from AAA. We decided since it's our anniversary and 1st time to Hawaii we would splurge.

I am having a little bit of anxiety though. We are leaving our sons, 7 & 3, here with my sister and her family. We've left them before but with the way things are in the world today I'm a little stressed out. I even called the airline about postponing...

In light of things, would you leave your children for a week?

Awww Mary, I don't have any children, so it's very difficult for me to say...but I can certainly understand your concern and stress.

You've left them in your sister's care before, and I'm assuming that worked out well, and you're only going to be gone for a week, right? I know you won't stop worrying, but I would say go, enjoy yourselves, the week will pass very quickly.

Just my humble opinion.

I know it is hard to leave children even in the care of the family when we feel upset about the world situation.............I recently left my grown up children and went away for 5 days...and felt that twinge as well....I think as the date draws closer, you will make the decision that is comfortable for you and yours... I hope you do go and have a wonderful 10th anniversary, it is Hawaii and considered the US... so I would feel more comfortable about that.

Thanks for the input BUDS. Aside from flying for 6 hours to get there, I think the other part that is bothering me is that we are stuck there. Any other place in the US and we can rent or buy a car to get home if we need to.

I'm almost sure we are going. In fact, I packed our bags today which is a pretty good sign. My youngest keeps asking me if we are leaving today because he wants to play with his cousin.
