I have been to all 4 for a week each. Best for a large group would be Oahu or Maui. Maui is my favorite. It is much more pretty. Yes Waikiki is like a city with a great beach. I describe it to people as imagine NYC and the Hudson is a ocean. It is not that bad, but it is very busy.
Kaui has stuff to do but is spread out. We stayed in Princeville and drove alot. The Big Island has the lava but it looks like the moon, everywhere you look is black. Both nice trips but not for a large group.
Whichever island you choose buy the "revealed" books they are about $13.00 on Amazon. They have a blue cover. They are the best resource.
