Thanks for the pictures, from this stage to finish BLT was only about 16 months, I guess with this being 2.5x the size they are allowing more time.

I quizzed the DVC folks when I visited the welcome center last Friday. No new info on Ko Olina ...

I can't believe a little over a year ago I was waiting for BLT to open--now it is all done (and I have already stayed there once :) ) Perhaps Ko Olina will be the same--it will fly by before ya know it and it will be all done!

I would love to fly to CA and stay at VGC for a few days and then fly to Hawaii and stay for 2 or 3 weeks. (And stay at VGC coming back, too. ;) )

Saw Bob Iger on CNBC last night. He mentioned the HI resort as one of Disney's expantion plans. Didn't say DVC though

Iger may not have mentioned that Disney's Hawaii development includes both regular deluxe rooms and DVC villas, but that's what Disney officially announced more than two years ago.

There has not been any announcement about whether Disney's National Harbor (DC area) development will or won't have a DVC component.

I think it's just sound better to mention a resort and leave out the timeshare side of things. Look at how DVC is looked at by the regulars at the GF:snooty:.

I don't think Iger purposely omitted mentioning the DVC timeshare component of the Disney resort in Hawaii. He was just answering a question by listing projects that are creating jobs in this economy:

"Well, we're building right now in a variety of places, both domestically and internationally. We are expanding our parks in Orlando and in California. We've got a big project in California. We're building a great resort in Hawaii. We are going to move one of our cruise ships to Southern California. We just announced we're building studio space in Southern California."

He didn't provide details about any of those projects within that answer.
