Good morning all!! Can anyone please give me some help on vacationing in Hawaii? I am looking for any and all help. Where to stay, weather history, best deals, etc. I just found out my brother and his girlfriend are getting married there and he has asked for my help. In exchange my daughter and I get to go with them for a paid vacation. I will also be their nanny for their new baby...so although they are getting married there will be children with us. Thank you for any help...websites, books, etc. Have a disney day!!!

Our favorite place to go in Hawaii is the Big Island of Hawaii. Stay away from Wakiki if you have childeren with. The Big Island is more kid friendly and there is plenty to do there as well as more reasonably priced places to stay. I would reccommend getting on a Bed and Breakfast site and asking specifically for Hawaii.

For a wedding, you can't beat Maui. I know many hotels there have wedding packages available and I've had several friends get married there. Plus it's an absolutely beautiful island.

Get on Google and just start searching; I have tons of info on Maui from that. You also may want to try a good Hawaii guidebook; I like "Maui Revealed" but Frommer's also has a good book.

Enjoy! :)

My DW read Frommers, Hawaii on $___ per day and a couple of other books before our first trip. She is a fast reader and if she saw the same place mentioned in more that one place, she would put it on a list to check out. This is how we found a little hole in the wall called "Eggs and Things" which had the best breakfast on the Island.

We love the Big Island the most. If the lava is flowing on the surface, it is well worth your time to go to Volcano National Park and hike down to the observation point.

Have fun.

we just got back from 8 days on maui with my 3 kids. They loved it. We got a great deal on airfare from the east coast. There are deals out there if you are patient and have time to look. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo that was beautiful. There are a lot of resorts on Maui but they can be very expensive. Most of the time the condos are just a better deal. The unit we stayed in was right on a small beach and all of the lanais looked out on the ocean. We could watch the whales right from our balcony. We stayed in Kahana which is just past the resort area of Kanapali and this is probably my favorite area to stay in on Maui because it is pretty quiet but not far from lots of great places. I highly recommend the Maui Revealed guide book. It is written by people who live in the islands and is very honest. That is how we found our place to stay. They have a website called www.wizardpub.com that you can access without buying the book and see ariel photos of all of the resorts. This helps because you can really see where they are situated in comparison to the beach. Our condo was about $195 per night and it was very clean and nice. It was called Hololani and I believe the website was www.hololani.com. It would be perfect for you if you were babysitting overnight. On the last night we moved to the Marriot Outrigger in Wailea. It was beautiful but for more money we got a much smaller room that was no where near the ocean. Our oceanfront condo seemed like even more of a deal. If it was just my husband and I, I would probably stay in the resort the whole time, but with kids having more space was definitely worth it. If you have any questions pm me. I would love to help. Hawaii can be affordable just like Disney if you know enough about it. We have been several times and to a few different islands, but Maui is my favorite.
