We're cruising on the Fantasy in 3 weeks and I am considering renewing our annual passes prior to the cruise. I think it would be awesome to have Mickey give them to my wife while on the cruise.

Does anyone think this is possible?

There is ways to arrange a private character meet and greet or deliver ticket as you wish, check wit DCL. However, be ready.......it is gong to be major expensive! *MAJOR* being the key word.

OMG..that would be great. We are also Annual passholders and a few weeks ago was at WDW and asked at guest services if our annual passes would work for buying "stuff" on our up coming cruise, like it does at WDW, they said "doubt it". But did suggest bring them just in case. Have a great cruise, 48 days till we cruise, but who's counting.ME

I don't believe there are any discounts onboard associated with having an Annual Pass but not 100% sure.

To the OP, as far as having Mickey deliver AP's, as mentioned any private character encounters will cost. A few years ago the going cost to "rent" MM or MN onboard for a private encounters was $250 per 30 minutes (per character). Have no idea what it is now.

Can't hurt to ask at Guest Services though. Just a guess, but I think the reason they cost so much is you are not the first person to want to do something like this. Just think how many people want Mickey or Minnie to deliver, hand out or present items to people onboard. It would be impossible to accommodate every request if it was complimentary. Mickey would be overwhelmed.

There is an on-board merchandise discount, but it's only for Gold & Platinum Castaway Members and Disney CMs.

I bet the characters would be overwhelmed with requests. Maybe I can somehow scheme to have it happen on a spur of the moment type deal. I'm not paying for it. Thanks for all the replies!

I read a ... let's say fairly crazy negative review of DCL on another site. One of the many, many, many complaints listed was that DCL would not have a birthday cake hand-delivered by 'all the princesses' to the person's child in the MDR.

Yeah, well some people are more entitled than others. Yes, we'd all love a "personalized" Disney experience, but it's going to cost.

As another idea, ask Guest Services for one of their envelopes (like the ones Port Adventure tickets come in) and put the passes in there and leave them on the bed or something. Or make your envelope in case GS doesn't share.

Can you slip them to the character handler while waiting in line for a meet and greet/ photo with Mickey?

Great idea! I am pretty sure this will work. Great photo opportunity as well.

My original idea was having the tickets dropped off at dinner.

That would do nothing but create chaos in the MDR. Honestly some people have no sense.

Is 3 weeks enough time to receive the renewal APs?

We let our passes end a few years ago. Last year we won premium Universal Passes at a Christmas party and I think they made us miss Disney so I'm surprising my wife with new passes. I'm sure I'll get at least something from the website when I sign up again that can be handed to her.

When you renew, you would select either will call (paper certificates you can print yourself) or you can have exchange certificates (actually plastic cards) mailed out. Standard shipping (which is free) might reach you in time. They have quicker delivery options which have a fee.

Paper it is then. My wife runs her small business out of the house and usually checks the mail.

Oh my goodness, I read the same one, and I SO wanted to post a link to it on the DIS cruise boards because of the absurdity of it. But I thought that might be against the DIS terms of service. If anyone is interested, let's just say it is on the review section of a very well known cruise website.

Almost all the negative reviews about Disney tend to be from people who either feel entitled to some special something just because they are that special snowflake kind of person or do not understand how Disney operates. Or things that Disney couldn't even control like it being too hot or too cold or raining or having to close attractions or the pools because of lightening or that they had to move from their exterior room to an interior room because there was a hurricane and Disney felt they would be safer (with no charge).
