We have been fortunate to travel to DW every year for the last 16 years. This is the first summer we haven't been able to go and I am sad. I knew the day would come but I am just sad about it. I guess that I need to be grateful for all the trips I was able to take with our children when they were little. It was so much fun.
DS just came in to talk about the fact that he is going to be a senior this year and he will be going on his senior trip. Our district goes to DW and the kids stay in the AS. My DD had a great time and he is so excited. I am so sad that we won't get to see him having fun.
This teenage thing is just alot harder than I thought it would be and I am glad that I have children who still like to talk to me about the things we did when they were younger.
Well I guess I need to move past this and get my mind on to something else.
Thanks for listening.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way. My DS is going to be a Junior this year. We went every year to Disney on our family vacations and had so much fun. We haven't gone since 2001. The next trip to Disney DH and I have planned is in March 2007 on our 25th Anniversary. I think back to those memories of our family trips and it's almost too much to take sometimes. Why do these kids have to grow up? LOL

Yup I have a senior too. Do what I did, Have more kids!! My 3yo twins keep the Magic Alive for me!!

It is tough to watch them become adults sooooo fast.

Cheer up, your in for a very busy and exciting year with DS and graduation!! Good luck

Time passes so quickly. {{{HUGS}}} Is there something else local you can do together?

The kids both went to see POTC with their friend the day it came out. DH and I are planning to go to see POTC tomorrow night. I am taking my sisters 3YO to see Nemo tomorrow afternoon. DH and I were talking at dinner tonight and we think we may plan a trip to Vegas for a few days. I really think if we go to DW without the kids it will be like rubbing salt in the wounds.
We were a very close family but DD is basically living here like this is a hotel and my son has always been very social so now that he has his license he is on the go constantly.
Things have to change but I am just having a tough time with it right now. I am sure I was worse than my children are but my mother was sick and I had a little sister to take care of. I had too much responsibility. Time goes too fast for me.
