Having two overlapping DVC reservations for the same date?

hi all

I am from the UK and have my non refundable flights already booked and paid for for next August. I am therefore very tied to my vacation dates - I also had the exact number of points (with borrowing) to book my accomodation, so for the first time since having our DVC I had very specific requirements for our reservation. To add to the equation, I own at two different resorts, so I need a split stay to make it happen.

A few days ago I made my first booking with the right dates and have been waiting to make my second reservation. Unfortunately ive been watching the availability and it turns out that my second accomodation has been getting fully booked - so I admit ive panicked a bit! :worried:

Anyway, today ive ended up booking the second reservation with the view to moving it forward in a couple of days time, when the 'real' day I want arrives. The system has let me book both, despite the same names being on both bookings, and I couldn't see anything on the terms and conditions about not being able to have more than one booking, but obviously we can't be in two places at once, so now I'm worried that one booking will be cancelled by DVC? Will this happen?:worried:

I am now regretting doing this, i just panicked at the thought of missing out on the only room we could afford (I have never had any trouble in August before, so it was a shock!:worried:). Do you think I should ring MS now to tell them what ive done, or just wait until the date when I need to move the booking to arrive in a couple of days time, and hope that the reservation isn't cancelled in the meantime?:confused3

Any advice would be much appreciated! :thumbsup2

DVC could care less. There are plenty of perfectly valid reasons to have more than one DVC reservation on a particular date.

Online doesn't care about the names, DVC isn't suppose to cancel until they contact you if they see the reservation which they don't look for. When you are done, just cancel the old reservation. If you need to change names or add room requests, do so via the contact form on the member website.

I have been listed on several reservations at the same time and never had an issue.

Just use a different name for the 2nd. Like your first initial, middle name and last name. Or use a traveling companions name. Once all rooms are set, just send a e-mail to correct the names if you desire.
Your second units is what is called "walking" a reservation. Starting early the drop one and add one each day until you have all nights for the correct date.

Thank you all so much for your replies:thumbsup2 - I feel reassured now and will hopefully have it all sorted in the next few days and can breathe a sigh of relief!! :faint::goodvibes
