Having Trouble Seeing My 2019 UY Points

I'm trying to book a little trip for my brother to congratulate him on getting his PhD in bioengineering and I'm having trouble with accessing my points to actually book the trip. I have 102 points available in my 2019UY (Dec UY) but when I go to select the dates and then points, it is telling me that I only have 2 points available in 2019UY, and 100 points in 2020UY. What happened to my 100 points in my 2019 UY?! Ugh...don't feel like calling Member Services. Anyone ever have this problem? Screen Shot 2019-09-30 at 6.19.27 PM.png

I have never had the problem. But if you go to the My Points, you can then choose to see the activity of the contract. That should shOw you what happened to the points.

I ended up suffering through a 35 minute wait and MS booked it for me. I told her what I was seeing on my end and she said it was just weird wording. If I went ahead with the booking, I would see that it would use up 91points from the 102 from 2019. I knew that I had the 102 points, just wasn't sure why it showed up like that. I felt like the way the contracts were showing up this time were different from all my previous bookings. Maybe I'm also having pregger brain which does not help in any case!

It looks like the system is trying to be helpful.

It’s stating you have available to use within this 2019 UY stay 102 points. If you look at the individual contracts they break down as follows:

Contract 1
2019 UY - 2 points
2020 UY - 30 points (available to borrow)

Contract 2
2019 UY - 0 points
2020 UY - 70 points (available to borrow)

It doesn’t look like you have 100 2019 UY points, only 2. To make the booking, you’ll have to borrow; first using the 2 2019 UY appoints in contract 1, then probably borrowing 30 from contract 1 2020 UY, then borrowing 49 points from contract 2 2020 UY.

It basically summarized everything available to use for the trip (but groups it all as one UY) in the larger summary at the top (in the big white circle). If you had points available to bank from 2018, it would add it to that circle as well.

The individual contracts breakdowns below are more explicit.

It may be trying to be helpful but it was actually confusing more than anything! The 2pts shown in Contract 1 was actually banked from 2018. I have 30pts coming in Dec 1, 2019 on that contract and 70pts coming in on the second contract. I know that for sure...no questions about it that I haven’t used my 2019 allotment yet. I don’t want to borrow points from 2020. If you go to the page where it breaks down the points per contract per UY allotment, you see the 30pts and 70pts coming Dec 2019! However, you don’t see this info on the booking page I posted above. For newbies, it probably would’ve been confusing and they may inadvertently borrowed points they didn’t need to. Yet, the MS CM I spoke to said it would’ve taken the 2019 points I had so who knows what is really going on.

Actually I just looked at it again, and it is correct. The Points to the right are The points available to book a trip in your 2019 UY..it shows 32 in one contract and 70 in the other.

One the left, what you are seeing is banked points from 2018 and the 2020 points.

When it says you have 2 points expiring, it is the banked points. The pioints to borrow from 2020 are there too,

For Contract 2, you have no banked points and 70 to borrow from 2020.

It’s done this way so you know that what is to the right is available to book and what is to the left would be available for borrowing, if your current points listed to the right were not enough.

Since your trip was 91 and it was snowing 32 and 70, then you were all set and no borrowing would be needed,

Aaaah, yes. I see it now. The 32 in bold on the right is what is in the 2019 UY 30 2019 points and 2 banked points. I see it now. That is tricky.
