Having trouble getting a quote for DLParis 2007

Hi everyone, I don't know much about Disneyland Paris but next year we are doing a European cruise and I would like to tag on 3 or 4 nights at DLP after it.

So I guess my first question would be how far is it from CDG airport and can we get transfers? we would be flying in from Rome.

Is there a concierge level at the Disneyland Hotel? like at WDW orlando where you get breakfast, snacks etc...?

Can someone point me to where I can get a quote? I was looking at the the website but it won't give me anything for Nov 2007. I have to figure this out in the next few weeks because I am using my aeroplan points for my flights and have to book them soon.

Also, is there enough to keep us busy at the parks for 3 days? and do they decorate for Christmas like WDW? Is english spoken at the resorts and parks? is the food 'americanized' or more european?

Hello from Paris! I will try and help... there is much useful information here if you click on the 'stickies' on the top of the DLRP boards

From airport you can take a VEA Shuttle which takes about 45 min, or the TGV train which is 12 minutes from Terminal 2 TGV station. If you have a lot of luggage the shuttle may be preferred. Train station is right outside the parks and busses go to your hotel from there in minutes.

The parks are decorated for the holidays, this year from November 11th. The castle is in my opinion the prettiest compared to WDW and DL and watching Tink light up the castle is amazing and can't be topped. I am not a fan of the princess lighting on Main St this year but every year there seems to be much discussion here about which lighting is nicest - seems to change every few years or so.

YES you can keep busy for 3-4 days. Remember, DLRP has more to do inside the Disneyland Park than DL or Magic Kingdom. There are more attractions and restaurants to visit, plus you may wnat to do a Paris daytrip or a trip to the shopping areas nearby.

The hotels are definitely European style hotels, so don't expect the American luxuries you may be used to. They are perfectly nice and servicable, but being German and living in mostly American hotels for much of the year I do recognize a significant difference in what American expect and what Europeans expect. For instance, you may wnat to bring a hair dryer if you plan on drying your hair in under 30 minutes! Don't expect a coffeemaker in every room, or a mini bar, etc unless you are in the best rooms.

Disneyland Hotel is very expensive ie about 400+ Euros/night. Beautiful hotel, but you may want to consider some of the other very nice hotels on site, such as the Sequoia or Newport Bay - I would argue that 200+ Euros more per night can be better spent. And Castle Club is even more. Breakfast is usually included in the room rate in Europe - breakfast at the Cheyenne was one of the more bizarre sights and definitely a truly European experience to watch the different cultures and how they behave. I joined the poor Brits in the coffee queue who kept getting pushed aside by other more determined souls.....

The rooms don't usually become available less than 1 year in advance, and if I recall usually only several months in advance. You can check Expedia as well as the Disney official site.

The Disneyland hotel has the Castle club, which is a private floor with a private lounge with breakfast and afternoon tea, you also get a VIP fast pass and there is an elevator from the Castle Club floor to the park entrance.

You should be able to book November from June next year.

oh, and the food is definitely a mixture of European and some pseudo Americanization. When Europeans Americanize food, they really don't go very far, if that makes sense.

Frankly, the food is one thing which I really like about DLRP. How wonderful to be able to find a veggie Croque Monsieur and tomato soup on a cool day... no need to hunt down burgers and hot dogs unless your tastes run towards that. You can find some good if not overly fantastic food almost everywhere, plus some very good food in the better restaurants.

Breakfast is a continental with pain au chocolate or croissants, jam, etc and maybe cheese and sliced meats. There are sometimes the option to add hot American items to breakfast if you desire.

If you want to go a for something a little cheaper than the Disneyland Hotel, then the Admiral's Floor rooms at the Newport Bay might be worth considering.

You can also book a private shuttle between the airport and DLP. Depending on the number of people travelling, it can work out very competitively with the VEA or the train.

I am sorry Ididn't check out the stickies before asking my questions - I was checking my flights this morning and got in a bit of a panic and posted.

The Castle Club sounds perfect - just what I am looking for. 400 Euros is a deal compared to the hotel in Rome I am staying at

I will start checking out the attractions and restauants, but can anyone help me find where to get a quote or make a reservation? I can't seem to see anything for 2007.

I have been Paris a few times but never to DLP, I probably should take my DD to the Eiffel tower or something - is this easy to do?

Cityrama runs a Paris day trip from the hotel New York which is easily accessible and probably a good way to see the city if you have limited time. Otherwise you CAN take the RER and do it yourself, but the sites are somewhat scattered so to walk isn't a great option, especially with a child. Taxi fares are not bad (ducking... ) compared to other large cities I have seen, but if you are going to spend that amount you may as well do the tour. I believe that there is info on the 'useful info' sticky about how to book the tour, as well as taking the RER into Paris.

I don't think that you'll be able to find much online re prices yet as DLRP is notorious for releasing prices short term, and is only doing it longer term recently. Many airlines/hotels only let you book 51 weeks in advance, so you may want to check in a few weeks. If you are considering buying an Annual Pass (see my thread on the reasonable Francilien pass) you can visit Expedia.de (the german site) for room only rates. You can also book on that site if you are not german, and it's easy enough to navigate with English only skills.

Not to worry about not checking Stickies - many people forget that they are there!!!

re English friendly - I am german, and look it (or Eastern European). I speak fluent German and English, and my French is better than I think, according to people here.

My first time into the park, the ticket taker said 'Italian?' Every transaction after that was in any language I chose, and as my brain was very tired I was often speaking a mish mash of any of the three languages.

But signage is usually in English, the CMs all seemed polite if not Americanstyle friendly, and seemed to like trying out English. I did have a hard time spelling out my address etc for the AP CM as letters are all pronounced differently in the three languages, especially vowels, and we both got confused.

Overall, the CMs are more European so you won't find the overly friendly CMs you may expect in America, but to me that adds to DLRP charm. It's not just American plunked down in Europe, but a European flair to Disney.

the rides are sometimes in French only but I wish that they were in the language of origin ie Pinocchio should be in Italian, Snow White in German, Peter Pan in English, but it doesn't work that way. Sometimes it's a mix of French/English, or French only , or if it's a show it may be English at certain times. But Buzz speaks his typical American so that didn't change!

Wow, I have been going through the stickies, the rides and attractions look wonderful - the parks are larger than I imagined. For sure I will be kept busy over three/four days.

The restaurants look great too, we won't starve.

Is there a photo gallery somewhere of pics of the park/rides/resorts? (I might have missed that)

Thanks again for your help, I have to book my air in the next 3 or 4 weeks so even if can't do the Disney Resort now - I should be able to get it at one point.

You could also buy yourself the book : A Brit's Guide to Disneyland Resort PAris, by Simon and Susan Veness. ...It's a must read !!

Hi there, thanks ware bears and martina for the links I will check them out.

We are doing the 12 Day Aegean/Egyptian Cruise on the Star Princess, in and out of Rome. It has a great itinerary including an overnight excursion to Cairo with the Pyramids /nile cruise/museum etc.. it also goes to Pompeii, Kusadasi and Greece.

After viewing the different hotels we kind of like the look of the Newport Bay, my DD loves the indoor pool pics.

I also liked the pool...but it seems that we won't be using it. Just in case I'll take the bathing suits, but with so many activities to do...swimming will be the last thing on my mind.

I booked the Admrial Floor...a suggestion given by other DIS members...and for the difference in price it is worth it ( I'll let you know when we come back). You get rooms closer to the reception and for breakfast you don't have to go at a fixed time, but when ever you feel like it !

Since your trip is next year...if I were you I would get a notebook and just write there everything realted to your trip...any web pages, tips, and anything that will be of use....

Yes, I will definately stay admirals club or castle club at the Disneyland hotel. We always stay conceirge at WDW, the ease of breakfast and location of rooms is important to me.

In the latest UK brochure it has prices for arrivals up to the 8th Nov next year. So depending when you're going you might be able to find prices now.

Our cruise is Nov 21 for 12 days so I guess that makes it December 3rd for check in.
