If you notice I have been going back and forth on plans for vaca this year. But I have finally decided to go to DL for my bday with the hubs and kids. We are all together a travelling of 8. unfortunatly my bday is in August, which I do sort of dread going then but, its when we can take vaca and kids are out of school. This year I can't afford pulling them out of school many things going on.

Anyway, I was on Disneyland direct site and the only thing that seems to be available on the date I need is Staybrige suites. Now I dont mind staying there in fact the set-up is great for our size family. Love the fact they have a kitchen and free breakfast, but when on the site I couldn't book ground transp. we're not renting a car. No need. nor can I get air fare with my pkg b/c its more than 6ppl. dumb. Could this be the only hotel available? Am i better off calling each one?

DW seemed so much simler to plan for than DL with all these hotels to choose from. :confused3

the help: would Staybridge be able to arrange these things for me. Does anyone know how I can get from airport to hotel? What is cheapest airfare rates I can get flying from NYC? :sad2:

I just book everything separately, rather than using the Disney site. It's much easier and cheaper, I heard.

because there are 8 in your group, most hotels won't accomodate a party of 8--unless you tell them 2 rooms. Start with booking your hotel, then go to a site like kayak.com and it will pull rates from all the major airlines from your airport to anaheim area (we prefer lgb or sna, but you may find it cheaper going into lax.) Then you can look at either super shuttle or we use primetime to get from the airport to the hotel. Last thing you'll need to decide is how many days in the parks, and then you can buy your park hoppers! Good luck!

You may also be a having trouble if you are going the 2nd week in August because of the United States Post Office National convention is in town and has many hotel rooms and hotels blocked.

Good luck

We are a family of six and we run into this problem, too. Although there are quite a few hotels in the area that have suites which accomodate 6 or 8, they don't come up when searching for packages for whatever reason.

See here for occupancy info on the hotels.

ETA: In addition to Staybridge Suites, Best Western Raffles and Desert Inn and Suites both have suites that accomodate 8-10 people. If you have the dough to stay onsite, Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian both have 2BR suites which accomodate 8. I would call around to each of those and see if you can do it separately, or maybe call Disney Travel and see what they can put together for you if you want a package.

We also have the same problem. Just have to keep searching for those elusive rooms with a reasonable price.
