I know that you can have things you buy in Disney sent back to your resort room. I'm wondering if the same holds true for snacks. Will Disney send thing such as cupcakes, brownies, etc. to your room for you?

Thanks!

They don't go to your room... they go to the gift shop & you collect them there. They do not arrive until the next day. I can't imagine they would accept snacks.

I have read on previous posts that they will not send food items.

Agree. No Disney delivery of food items to your resort. Not even bottled wine. When DD bought a bottle of wine, it was allowed to be sent to the front of the park for pickup by us when exiting the park. Don't know if this 'front of park pickup rule' would cover snacks or bakery purchases. I've never read a post about that.

I have never heard of this, but it's a great question! If you want that decadent snack for later, it would just end up getting crushed in your bag.

Following! :)

As others have said, Food may not be sent back. Even at DTD in the Kitchen shop, they explained that food items of any kind are not able to be shipped back to the resorts. This includes prepackaged, and any desserts you might have left over that you try to sneak into the bag! ;)

I have wondered this too! Like if I am in Epcot and want to go to the Karmel store for goodies I don't want to haul them around WS for hours. I wish they would allow this.

I can confirm that they do not send food or drinks to your room. If you want to purchase wine at EPCOT they will ship it to the front of the park only. I was also advised that they will not ship food to the front of the park.

You can order cakes that are able to be delivered to your room or gift baskets with snacks from Disney Floral, etc. if having something sent straight to your room is what is important to you.

Will they send food items to the gate for pick-up?

Very true. It would be in the best interest since someone could be "asked" to purchase a bottle of wine for someone under aged at Epcot and then have that under aged person pick it up back at the resort. We adults just walked with our purchase but it was interesting to see how closely Disney thinks of things.

I don't know but unless the food was sealed at the point of purchase and in the purchaser's presence, how would anyone know if it had been tampered with before the purchaser picked it up later? I am NOT a phobe about those things but I would think Disney would have to look out for their liability should anyone claim they were made sick or worse after eating something that was delivered that way.

Getting something sealed to be used as a decoration or as a toy delivered to the resort is different from a container than can be easily opened and then ingested.

I bought some things at Karamell-Kuche (my husband had to have the caramel bacon square) and hauled them around until it was time to go. The treats weathered it well, but I will say it was November. Might be a different story in the heat of the summer.

Good point!

Let me get this straight. So if I have a bag of souvenirs and it has a Snickers bar or a tin of Mickey's mints in the bag along with two T shirts and a Marie plush kitten, they WON'T deliver the bag to the resort or to the front of the park? Just want to make sure I understand what y'all mean by prepackaged food.

They will allow you to send everything but the food items back to your resort. Anything edible, you'll have to take with you.

They'll happily hand you back the snickers and mints and even a bag to carry them in and send the redt to your resort.

The mints could be opened and tampered with and then you could eat them. And, unfortunately, the Snickers bar could be injected with something and then you would eat it.

My husband loves a certain candy that he buys at Disney World. But, after the first time when we wanted it sent back to the room and were told no, he now just buys it on the way out of the park. Think of it this way - it's why no one gives out apples at Halloween anymore.

That may indeed be the liability reason.

I think the logistical reason is more that many foods perish in Florida heat and humidity. Who wants a Marie plush kitten covered in melted Snicker goo?
