Having second thoughts. Should I switch?

Hey everyone,
I have been reading these boards for quite some time now and am getting nervous with my dining reservations now. We leave for a surprise trip in 5 days and want to make everything perfect. We are a group of 2 adults, a 7yo girl, 4 YO boy and a 5 month old baby.
My main issue is a breakfast I have planned for our last day. I planned breakfast because we leave the parks that day at 3:00. The plan is 1900 park Fare and part of the reason is the characters. Is the food truly that awful? Do they have breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit, pancakes? Last year we went there for dinner but I was newly pregnant and was sick and couldn't really eat so I can't vouch for how the food was. We always do dinner and lunch and never breakfast.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Becky

My family likes 1900 park fare for breakfast. Lobster eggs Benedict. Mickey waffles and french toast. All your basic breakfast buffet options. I think you will be fine with that for breakfast. Don't stress too much remember it is vacation. RELAX

I love 1900 PF! they have all the items you mentioned and much more.... omelet station, carved ham, Mickey waffles, bread pudding with vanilla sauce, bananas foster topping, potatoes (last time they were cheesey hash brown kind - yummy!), fruit, breads, yogurt, and so much more that I can't remember. There is a "kids food station" that has some kid friendly choices.

It will be a great way to end your vacation. :goodvibes

We really like 1900 Park Fare for breakfast...the food is really good and we love the characters there (Mad Hatter is especially funny). We have gone for dinner before and eventhough it was nice, we prefer the breakfast. I wouldn't worry about it and if you are planning on going to MK afterwards, it is a short monorail ride from there. Have a great trip.

We really enjoyed breakfast there. DD loved Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter was a hoot! DD still talks about how he stayed with her at the table while I went to get her and I food. They talked all about rabbits :rotfl:

You will read negative reviews about every restaurant. It's good that you are sticking with it. Have a great time. :)

It was just okay the last time we did it but have decided to give it a second chance this trip. It wasn't bad just very busy last time we were there. We are doing it our last day also! I'm sure it will be fine!! You can't go wrong as long as there are Mickey Waffles! LOL :thumbsup2

They have a "make your own omelette" station too. The characters are really fun, we liked it. Our fave is Cape May at the Beach Club so we probably would choose that over 1900 PF.

We had a wonderful breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in 2009... OK, that's 2 years ago but doesn't look like anything changed. For food quality... 1900 Park Fare was one of the best. Just about any of the normal breakfast fare (eggs, breakfast meats, bagels, pastries, etc.) plus some country favorites (chipped beef and sausage gravy) and some "fancy" food....lobster eggs benedict...it was all delicious. Fresh fruit... I know DS had some of those delicious Florida strawberries.

And the characters are great... and not easily found in the parks for meet and greets... especially Alice and the Mad Hatter. Be sure to walk outside near where you check in and take pictures with the Mary Poppins statue.

I'd love to go back for breakfast but we are doing the 1900 PF dinner again in December. We are skipping character breakfasts this trip.

Well, we will give it a try and hope for the best. We have been here for Dinner but I just can't rate it with being sick and all. Thank you for all the responses though. I won't hold it against you if it turns out yucky. ;)

I think what you need to remember is its a breakfast buffet!! :lmao:

There's just not going to be anything earth shattering. They have some stuff that you wouldn't find elsewhere but all in all, buffet food, particularly breakfast, is chosen because its quick to prepare and can sit out for a little while without suffereing (too much). Unless it's fresh out of the kitchen, its very well could be not as good as a place where they're making the stuff to order. It's purely the nature of the beast.

As far as crowds, it's a buffet character meal, do the math ;)

I enjoyed it, but I haven't been there in like 3 years. The only thing I didn't like was being smushed into the waiting area where I felt like I had to use a cattle prod to push through when our name was called. I don't know if that's still the case though..
