I'm sitting here feeling rather sorry for myself as I have nobody to go to Disneyland with.

My partner has claustrophobia & a travel phobia so cant leave the UK. My ex who I am still friends with has no money and I cant afford to pay for everything like I did back in Feb 2011. And my other friends have no inclination to travel to Disney with me.

I start a new job on the 21st May and so have till then to pop away for a few days, and I have priced up a visit on my own, but it doesn't feel right not having someone to share with :(

Not sure what i'm trying to achieve with this post, i've been working myself up reading the trip reports and looking at my old photos :(

theres been a couple of people on here that have did disney on there own. its what you make of it. plus you will get to see dreams!!!

If you look at Linda67's trip reports, she does DLP solo and has a whale of a time. :thumbsup2

Also, I can remember another DISer having reservations about going on her own - I think her biggest concern was eating on her own but if you wouldn't feel comfortable sat in a table service restaurant then there are plenty of counter service ones to choose from.

If I were you I'd go - I understand what you mean when you say you'd have no one to share it with but the positive side of that is that you can do what you want when you want! :goodvibes

Go !

I go on my own all the time and have great fun. I never feel alone or left out and I've found that I often get extra special treatment from CM's especially on the rides.

:goodvibes

I'm really looking forward to our family trip to DLP this summer. However if I could afford it and justify the time away from the family all by myself, I'd love to go on my own for a couple of days!

I could do exactly what I wanted, not have to worry about would the kids like the food at a particular place, will an early start and a late finish be too much for them, going on rides they don't want to go on (or my wife doesn't want to for that matter, she's not a fan of big rides) etc.

I'm sure after two days I'd be keen to get back home and see them all, but I'd still love to do this.

It's never actually going to happen though :rotfl2:

Hey....you are at Disney....you will never be alone there.

Go for it !!

:grouphug:

If you can dream it, you can do it.

When I go it will most likely be alone. The main thing for me is that I've decided I don't want to pay to stay on property and that feels just a little un-nerving. I'll be staying 4 min away in Val D' Europe but still, and there's not much on TV when you get back to your room :worried:. However! I am going to have so much fun skipping around Disneyland Paris, doing what ever I want and shopping a bunch! I kind of think of it as, what if the parks were just close by, but you had no one to go with? Would you go? Would you have fun?

Of course you would :goodvibes!! And you will ::yes::! Then you'll come home and share with everyone and they'll be all ooooh and impressed and stuff lol!

I go solo half of the time because boyfriend's job keeps him from travelling las minute.

It is definitely different, but a nice kind of different. I can go by my own pace, not having to worry about Indy fastpasses and everything that doesn't interest me one bit. ;)

As ThBa has said, you are at Disney, you'll never be alone. There'll always be someone in line to chat with.

Thanks all, will bite the bullet and call to see if there are any last minute deals :)

Now to find the UK number!

I dunno why you all don't start some sort of singles / solo's thread, all meet up here in the uk, see if you get along, then arrange to go away together..?

Hi,
I just came back from a solo trip to DLP. Usually my wife comes with me, but she doesn't want to go so often as I do, and she doesn't like to go for just a weekend since it's too tiresome with the long drive.

A solo trip can be a lot of fun, But some things are different. Especially eating by myself always feels a bit strange. I usually eat only at the fast food places when I'm by myself. Also coming back to the room at night it feels quiet, but I find a good remedy is to just turn on the TV. Riding the rides and walking through the park is fine by yourself. Most people I think don't even notice you are on your own. They are too busy with theirselves and their family and seeing evenything that they don't really pay any attention to you walking around by yourself. Also I payed attention this time and noticed more people on their own in the parks.

It's great when you go by yourself that you can do all the rides you want to do in the order you want to do them. For example, my wife is not a big fan of Crush Coaster (she gets dizzy on it) and Armageddon (just doesn't care for it). When I'm on a solo trip I can do those rides and don't have to worry about my wife waiting outside for me. Also seeing the shows you don't really notice you are on your own, since you usually don't really talk with your partner during shows anyway.

I wouldn't want to do a longer trip on my own though. For me, 3 days is enough for a solo trip, but I can understand some people wouldn't mind doing it longer.
