Having never seen the BCV units...

We are new members as of September. We have our very first visit this April over Easter week and can't wait. We bought sight unseen and are looking forward to actually walking in to our one BR after being in a moderate resort all these past trips. Here's my question...we're arriving to POR for 3 nights before staying at BCV for 7 nights. On our first day at POR, should we take one of those vans over to the villa for a tour or should we wait till we actually check in 3 days later and be totally surprised? Which would you do?

Welcome home. Personally, although my recommendation would be to wait and enjoy your fiist stay, I'd probably have to duck out fo the international gateway during and Epcot visit for something to eat there. It's also fun to tour the other facilities like Wilderness Lodge by grabbing a meal there. After all, you joined the whole club, not just BCV.

hi: if you can stand it, i'd wait. we'd always stayed in the deluxes for the years prior to joining dvc; but when my dh walked into the 1br unit for the first time, he said we'd never stay in a hotel again. i think it will be worth the wait. you can always look at the pics online. have a wonderful trip!

Hi Jillpie - I would wait too. I know it will be hard, but enjoy your first few days and then go in for the big surprise!

If you go to see it on day one - you will just be wishing away your stay at POR until you check in to BCV.

Also - get in some good time at the other parks (all but Epcot) while you are at POR. The access to Epcot from BCV can't be beat.

One last thought...if you plan on doing any water parks - do them before BCV...you won't want to leave SAB once you get there!

GREAT point Sheryl. We really love POR and do want to enjoy those few days there. We plan on doing MK and AK while at POR and concentrate on Epcot and MGM when we go to the villas since its so close. Thanks to WDWnut too!
