Having bags held at Bell Services by Magic Express?

Hello all!

I've been seeing more and more people having issues with the amount of time it takes for their bags to be delivered to their room by DME. Sometimes more than 5 hours. While I always pack enough in my carry on bag to get me through the day and night, I don't relish the idea of having someone bang on our door at 1am! So that got me thinking about my upcoming trips. Next month we land at MCO at 5:30pm, which isn't too terribly late so hopefully that won't be a huge issue, but the bigger question I have in my head is around my early March trip, where we will land at about 8:45pm. On top of landing late - we also are only staying one night at POFQ, before transferring to the BW Villas the next day. I had already planned to pack everything we need for that first night and the next morning in our carry on bags so we don't even have to open our checked bags until we get to BWV's. Now I am thinking about whether it would be possible to somehow have the bags delivered to Bell Services at POFQ and just stay there until it is time to transfer in the morning. Does anyone have thoughts on that and whether it is remotely possible?

I know lots of people will say to just collect the bags ourselves, but as silly as it may sound, that is one of the many little touches that I really enjoy - not having to touch our bags and having them "magically appear" in our room. On top of that, my March trip is VERY special since I am taking my Dad, who will turn 74 years young while we are at WDW. It is his first time visiting a Disney park EVER and I really want it to feel special. Anyway, I am hopeful that someone here might have experience with DME just storing bags at Bell services for them. This would be the best answer if it is doable.

You can request they be held, yes.

You can request they be held overnight at POFQ. Then in the morning you need to go to Bell Services & request to have them transferred to BW. It can not happen automatically. They will not be available at BW until late afternoon/ early evening & they will NOT be placed in your BW room. After you are settled in your room you will have to call down to Bell Services & request to have them delivered to you. You should tip the delivery person for this services.

Thanks! Thankfully, I've had lots of experience with a split stay so do understand the way that works. I recall the first time I had a split stay I was really surprised that they wouldn't just drop them off in our room like ME does, but no big deal now that I know what to expect. I'm just really glad that I can indeed just ask that they be kept at bell services overnight, vs having them dropped to our room LATE that evening, when we would just have to turn around and schlep them back there in the morning anyway!

Yep, we've done this several times. Fly in late, stayed 1 night in a Value, had items needed for that night in carry on bags, had checked bags held till next day when we gave them our carry on bags and they moved them all to the next resort. Works like a champ.
