I don't know if t his is on the right board or not, I hve lost my drivers license I can't find it anywhere, I'll have to send away for my Birth certificate, which will problary take 2 weeks, my problem is will they need it at Disney for anything,?? I have been in the past and I can't remember them every asking for it, I'm majorly freaking out

Are you flying? You will need it to fly. As for Disney, the only time I remember them asking for it was when I got carded at Pleasure Island (which was dopey, since I'm waaaaaaaaaaay beyond drinking age).

Well, you'll need it to get there, whether you're flying or driving (unless you don't do any of the driving). I think I lost mine once, and I could use two other forms of picture ID instead of a birth cert. to get a replacement (I would have had to send away for mine too). It was hard coming up with two forms of picture ID, but luckily my debit card had my pic on it, and I was able to use a membership card. Worth checking into!

It's especially important that you have it to fly. Good luck! :goodvibes

no, we aren't flying, I guess my hubby will get to do all the driving this go around

You know, one time I was stopped by a police officer when I didnt have my drivers license on me and I explained I had only left the house for a few minutes and didnt grab my purse....yada yada yada, he just took all the normal information, name, address, phone number, etc. and called it in via his radio in car...no problem.

I wouldnt make my husband drive the whole time just cause I didnt have my license physically on me...depending on where you live, that might be one h*ll of a long drive for him!

Can you call the DMV in your state and have them issue you a temporary license? You know, the paper ones that dont have your picture on them? Then at least you'd just need one more piece of something with your picture on it.

Hope this helps!

Renee

I don't know where you are located but if you go to Motor vehicles they will issue you a temp drivers license which is valid right on the spot.

I have never had to use my DL for anything at WDW with one exception... just make sure you sign your cards (room key which is also used for purchasing) at check in...if you go to purchase anything with your card and it is not signed you will have to show ID. Just make sure you sign it and you will not have a problem.

I got carded last June when buying a beer at AK. I had mine, but my DH did not - he's 58!! I couldn't believe they were serious. They did sell him one, but I told him not to go anywhere without his license after that.

I don't specifically remember what happened the last time we went to WDW, but many hotels ask to see your DL when you check in. Maybe someone else can chime in here? :confused3

Also, if you have ADR for CRT or any of the restaurants that require a CC to hold or pay in advance, you will need picture ID for the person whose name is on the ADR. If you do have an ADR and it is in your DH's name there won't be a problem. Most ADR don't require this.

Have a great time!!!

It's possible, although not likely, that if you ever have trouble with your passes at the gate, that they'll ask to see photo i.d. to let you in. Also, I know they asked to see my driver's liscense when I checked into the resorts (the reservation was in my name, and I was the one doing the checking in), although I can't remember if hubby also had to show his.

The last time I lost my DL, I was able to go right to the DMV and get a duplicate the same day, (with my picture and everything!). If you can possibly swing it, this would probably be the way to go. Just go online and see what forms of ID they require in order to issue a duplicate license. Good luck and hope it works out for you! :sunny:

I would definitely call your local DMV, explain your situation and see what they say. You may be able to use something else besides your birth certificate to get another picture ID license. It's been awhile, but I lost my DL one time and was able to show my SS card and my insurance card as proof to get another license. Things may have changed though.

I'm sure you can't be the first person to lose your DL before a trip though, so the DMV should have ready answers to help you out before you go.

Good Luck! :goodvibes

I'm quite sure that I had to show my DL on our last two trips at POP. We were there at Thanksgiving 2004...had to show DL upon check-in at POP and again last October when DD and I went on our "Girls Only" trip.

I certainly hope you find your DL, and if not, you find a suitable solution. Have a wonderful trip!
