I am actually not sad this year, but I know that the holidays are a time that some, for whatever reason, get the blues, so I thought that I'd add a post where anyone can "vent" and perhaps be cheered by their Disney friends.

So... anyone out there in need of a friendly ear???

That's extremely kind of you, Puffy.

I'm doing fine. But I did want to say "hello" to you.

Hi Gina!!! So nice to hear from you. I'm about to let my daughter click on the Santa Tracking Site - for those of you who don't know about it, it's at www.noradsanta.org (my older girl is too big for such things. :o

Happy holidays to you Gina!

I'm a little blue too, but am trying to keep a smile on for my kids. The Santa tracking site has really helped, because my oldest dd (7) is really questioning me about is Santa real??? I am trying to put her off for now. Seeing the tracking on the computer has rejuvenated her Santa spirit!:D

Not blue, just exhausted. May or may not still have an extra kid -still hoping for a Christmas reconciliation for him and his dad. Got home from work at 11:30 last night and ate dinner at midnight, then up at 6 to start cooking. Thanks for listening!

Is this the time of year for folks to come out of the closet? That's what our family is getting for Christmas. One of the nephews came clean with it. Of course the family is having a time with it.I am sure it will be fine I just thought it was an odd time to come out. I think it will add some spice to the boring family that that side is. My family is alot more open so it wouldn't cause nearly the stir this has. Oh well I hope his Holidays are good. He seems really happy and he is a great kid so nothing is going to change that. I do think that it is causing some family members a bit of depression. Here's to the New Year!!!

For many reasons this holiday is just "different" for me, my entire family is 7000 miles away, my inlaws both died this year and they were the only ones keeping this family together, the rest of the family are basically non existent, unless they need something they don't call , so it's kind of lonely this year but on the other hand I have met many wonderful friends here and had the honor to meet many of them at discon so I am truly blessed. The only family we have here is just dh , myself and the children. We'll be home and spend time together.
Merry Christmas everyone!

My mom passed away this year. First Christmas without her. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

our kids being in the midst of things........tomorrow they come ..but it will be strange not having the hub bub tonight too......also our Jasmine died this year.....I know she is just an animal to some of you ...but she sure did enjoy the holidays.......she would sniff and open all the gifts she could.....so of course we had to hide them until xmas eve........can you possibly believe that......a dog opening up presents.....she was our doggie and we did love her........but tomorrow the family comes and I get to cook for them all.......the things I love to do most......fill their bellies........happy holidays to you all and thanks for this nice thread

My parents have been dead for many years but Christmas is still a rough time for me. My DH is on his way home from FL and will not be here until midnight. Just doesn't seem like Christmas without him.

This is our first Christmas w/o my dad. He passed away almost a year ago. I thought maybe I could make it through and not be to sad, but that didnt happen. On a lighter note, we will be visiting our new great niece tomorrow on her first Christmas. :)

My father died this year also. He was 73 and active up until a month prior to his passing. I think it is hard for all of us (wife and 5 children all with families of our own) but the way I look at it - Daddy is still around (his spirit lives on to me - sometimes I don't feel it, sometimes it's like he's right here next to me. Kind of hard to explain) and he would want the same kind of Christmas we always had - big family , food, silly skits, lots of laughing, loud, etc... so that's what we plan to do tomorrow at my mothers. In celebration; of him and of us and Christmas, like always.

A {hug} for all who are having a rough go of it this Christmas. May the spirit of the season brighten your days ahead. :sunny:

How about a few jokes....

"How do you keep a skunk from smelling??"
................................

"Why don't cannibals eat clowns???"
..................................
because they taste funny. :)

Any others?

A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. ''But why?'' they asked, as they moved off. ''Because,'' he said, ''I can't stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.''

This guy goes into a restaurant for a Christmas breakfast while in his hometown for the holidays. After looking over the menu he says, ''I'll just have the eggs Benedict.'' His order comes a while later and it's served on a big, shiny hubcap. He asks the waiter, ''What's with the hubcap?'' The waiter sings, ''Oh, there's no plate like chrome for the hollandaise!''
