Having a hard time

Verity, I'm only just seeing this. So sorry to hear you are going throuh such a difficult time. As others have said, I'm sure your dad is aware of you being there, and you are doing the right thing in spending time with him, however difficult it is. You will always have treasured memories of your dad, let those memories help you through this difficult time.

Thankyou again to everyone who has responded. Dad is getting progressively worse and is now refusing to see me or my brother at all, so all I can do is be at the hospice as much as I can to support mum. It is frustrating and heartbreaking, but I do want to respect his wishes. Life is completely in limbo at the moment and I feel like I am living in a dream (well nightmare) . xxx

Even those of us who have been through what your family is suffering can only offer small comfort.
I know even 10 years on its difficult to reflect on the time my Mum was on high doses of morphine.
