Having a hard time planning a Feb trip

So, I admit, I'm an over-planner. It seemed to serve me well with our family vacations to WDW, but now that we're planning 2 days in Feb for DLR and DCA I feel super lost. I know that you don't NEED to plan so much, but its super hard not to. I was thinking about a touring plans subscription, but didn't know if that was a waste.... how much planning do you do ahead of your DLR/DCA days? I really hate the idea of winging it :(

I've never used a subscription. With MP and a park hopper, you will be set. What I did do when I didn't go to DL so often was find a Disney blogger that was suggested on this very forum. Facebook Disneyland Daily and she spells out touring plans for just about every situation. If you aren't going to park hop, or aren't going to spring for MP, Casey has a plan for you.

I am planning a 5 day trip myself for Feb 2020 as well. I already booked my resort but I am stalking the website for the winter discount offer! last year it came out in October but here we are almost the end of October and no winter discount. Aulani posted theirs a fews ago and I grabbed it right away. Disney World has theirs posted.. but Disneyland seems to always be sooooo slow. We are huge WDW goers. We go every other year. I found that Disneyland doesn't require the same amount of attention. I am waiting to try and book some dinner packages for WoC and F! at the 60 days mark but other than that, it's a pretty easy smooth go. I did go on my Disney experience app and ❤ all the places we might to eat. I don't know what else there is to do, since you don't make fastpasses ahead of time like at WDW, you make them after you step into the park that day. I've done some research and reading, and it also looks like for EMH - you have to say what park you are going to each day, I am not sure if that is done at check-in or what since there wasn't any options to pick them when I booked.

I'm not sure what you mean by this? DL is open early on Tues/Thurs/Sat, and DCA on Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri. You don't have to commit to a park in advance because there will only be one open. (The only usual exception is Christmas week).

Oh I never saw that information, that's great to know. it makes planning so much easier now. - thanks

Touring Plans is a waste of money for DL, but I found Ride Max to be helpful in years past when we paid for that subscription. Now that we have a few DL trips under our belts, we don't need it.
