Tinkaroo Lakeland is 45 min from WDW, if you work with someone like Peggy i'm sure they could take care of it. I'm sure there is closer places around WDW and Peggy could hook you up! Regardless, my point is I think for the $$$ you could get an outside baker that could do up a top notch custom cake :thumbsup2

Mandy, your kids are so sweet. I love the MK bday party pic...the girls look precious in their bday hats w/the castle in teh background.:goodvibes And their BBB pics.....ADORABLE.princess: princess: Connor is a doll with all the curls!!! So CUTE.:)

Good luck Lindsay!!!! Hope you manage to talk to a better more open minded CM then Lda!!!! OK, I think it is the toothpast buttercream...I LOVE it, haha...I call it the "Crisco frosting"....we never had it as a kid - always had homemade cakes....maybe that's why I love the big fat fluffy fake bakery bday cakes.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Kristin, it's ugly out there!! The TV keeps beeping. :guilty: DH has a flight out this afternoon....wouldn't ya know it.:sad2: And of course my parents are here from AZ and I am going to hear a lot of griping about our IL weather.....there's is always beautiful. ;)

OK...I was skimming thru the Budget Board....there was a thread on last night called "I HATE SEARS"..... You know why they hate Sears?? Because Sears has screwed many of the posters on the delivery or stock of their ordered appliances!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    I NEED MY WASHING MACHINE!!!! We have TONS of clothes but my problem is I have three dirty pigs & I can't keep up with their dirty laundry if that sucker is not delivered soon. :sad2: They estimated April 30 and that is scaring me....if those bums blow me off and/or I find out after the fact that my set is out of stock....:headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:  There are people over there that took off work expecting delivery and then were blown off with no call!!!!! I am nervous now. DH says there are plenty of happy customers....yada yada ....it's the dissatisfied who post...I know it's true, but believe me Sears has not ever been top of my list of choices of stores.......

I hate to tell you but every time I ordered something from Sears It got messed up :rotfl: :rotfl:

not 1 time have I had a good experience with Sears shipping something :scared1:

After the 4th or 5th time of ording something and having it not delivered anywhere near the time frame they gave me... once was a WHOLE MONTH longer than expected.... I gave up trying and no longer EVER get anything delivered from sears.
Good luck but I suggest looking for a laundrymat just to be safe :rotfl2:

I hope that makes you feel all warm and squishy chan!

:goodvibes I LOVE birthday cake!!! :thumbsup2 The only gross or yucky ones have been from the GF....really only the one Minnie head cake...the rest have been yummy.:) I usually order Chocolate for Jo and with custard and fresh strawberry filling...I do the buttercream as whipped turns me off.:scared: The cakes we get out here are scrumptious. I never thought there was such a thing as a bad birthday cake!!!!:rotfl:

Me, too! I love  all cake in general, but really love white b-day cake. I grew up getting custom cakes from a fab bakery for all birthdays, so that's why I'm finding it so hard to believe that this is so difficult! :confused3

Boy, I go on a business trip and all heck breaks loose on here. It took me forever to catch up, as you guys have been chatty. I was out in Anaheim for a business conference, but did fit some time in for DL and DCA. Did you guys know that they are working on new theming for DCA, and it will be called Disney's California (at least that's what I was told).

I stayed at the Grand Californian and liked it. Not as much as our beloved GF, but it was still fun. I had dinner twice at Napa Rose -- it was divine! That chef's table is awesome! So, thanks for the advice some of you gave me.

Brook -- Lindsay did a terrific job of explaining everything, but I'm also happy to answer any questions. I've done the guide the week between Christmas and New Years, as well as in the heat/crowd of the summer. I originally tried it because we only had a couple of days in the parks before getting on DCL and I wanted to do a split park AKL/DHS in one day, and we were able to do that. After that, I was hooked... We had that small front row bench for FOTLK - the kids were picked for before and during the show, great seats for Lights, Motor, Action, etc. We had multiple fast passes to use even after we left our guide. I'm spoiled for life. Yes, I could do the parks by myself, and will continue to do so, but I'll have at least one VIP guide day as well. (Unfortunately, my favorite guide is leaving in May, but I met so many others that I have several I can ask for from now on.) So, here's your warning that it is totally addictive!

Beautiful eye candy! And yes, 100% Texan. In fact, he went to THE University. (Lindsay knows this means University of Texas...;) ) We went to the first Rose Bowl game that UT played in (not the national championship one) and he was walking the sidelines. I can tell you my binoculars were not focused on the game. :rotfl:

Nice! Did you see the story about what Faith did when someone in the audience grabbed at Tim? Let's just say she let her know not to do it again...

Lindsay -- I agree with the other advice. Call back and see if you can get someone less clueless. I called two days before I needed a cake for a Grand I outing on New Year's Day, and I was able to get the 8" with the strawberry custard filling. It was great! I couldn't get a white chocolate Stitch, because I didn't call far enough ahead, but I was happy with what we got.

I saw an article in my DVC mag. about all the changes coming to DCA - I'm really looking forward to seeing it after it's all done - definitely going to inject some much-needed attention and energy into that park, IMO. :thumbsup2

Oh no - C. is leaving? :sad1: I was just thinking that I was going to e-mail her to see if she'll be around next week so we can say "hi." I know she was looking for other opportunities, but selfishly, that makes me sad!

Oh yes, Matthew is quite the die-hard fan. I admire his passion for UT Football, but he still wears on my last nerve!

I did see that story about that. Go, Faith, I say! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the cake advice. So you were able to get the custard filling on an 8"? I asked that exact question yesterday, and was told they could only do that in a 10". :headache: Was it good? Did you call the GF Bakery directly, or did concierge help you?

YOU ARE NOT MAKING ME FEEL WARM AND SQUISHY!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I am panicking now!!!! THere is a nice new laundrymat fairly near.:rotfl2: I think I need to call stupid Sears. We were burned by them on the purchase of a treadmill a couple years ago....left me with a bad taste in my mouth & I hate Sears. I just hate alot of diff appliance brands and had luck with Kenmore, so I figured I'd suck it up and order from them.:sad2:

Lindsay - I have always been told only 10 inch can be specialized and only 10 inch have the choice of fillings.....needless to say, we've alwyas had 10 inch cakes & pitched 1/2. NOt sure what the deal is?!?:confused3 :confused3

It's well known around the GF that L is difficult. I don't know why they don't dump her. Get her a job in the back room or something.:rotfl:

Kristin does sound down in the dumps.......

Channing, if it makes you feel better, I've had good luck with Sears. I ordered Maytag washer and dryer from them about 10 years ago, and they delivered/set-up out in the BOONIES where DH and I were having to live at the time. We also bought a Kenmore Elite refrigerator from them and had it delivered when we bought our house 4 years ago - again, no problems. And all appliances (knock on wood) are still holding strong! (We did have a problem with the basket of our Maytag washer cracking when we'd had it about a year, but they ended up fixing it with no problem.) :wizard: :wizard: that your experience will be the same.

Good luck with your parents!

I'm going to go check out the cake thread, and then work up my nerve to call the GF Bakery directly. I'll let you know how I fare!

Kristin - sorry it's raining.

Thanks, Lindsay!.....OK all warm and fuzzy here. :goodvibes That's some good news.

Good luck on your bakery call. I hope you wind up with a nice CM!! (hey, can't be any worse, right?;) )

Let us know how it turns out.:thumbsup2

Oh I like Kenmoor... great stuff.... its the Sears shipping that stinks! Maybe Linda should have applied for the new CMO job :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have you ever had a zit so big it actually HURT?!?!

Hi everyone...
Just reading everything before our trip next week. 5 days to go..just 5 but it is going so slow...
I mentioned how work always seems to get worse before a vacation and all the nonsense (from customers and workers) just grows and grows.
Streets were closed around here today. Someone was killed this morning. The story so far is hit by a car and shot
I'm really starting to dislike my job.

Sorry for the whine..Ijust really need some nice Disney sights and smells to relax.

EDITED*** I have to add I dont hate my job because a lot of people get killed around here (although it is true).. That sounds very insensitive.

There are many reasons. Working with incompetant people, no breaks for lunch, other pharmacist quit so i work 6 days a week now. Pay was switched to every two weeks and then the owner gives you the check a week late every time and by the time you cash it and it clears it is almost a month from the first part of the 2 week cycle.

This is going to sound gross but if it dosn't have a head I would leave it alone.... Get a hot moist washcloth and hold on it and it will help.......

If you do an extraction the wrong way you could damage your skin and scar your skin. I get blemishes all the time and have learned from my derm. what to do and not to do.

I just got an ADR for Tusker House for Breakfast!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I just called and said it's going to be a long shot since it's been booked for weeks, well there was one cancelation for 8:10 party of 4 BINGO!

This will sound more gross but I like to pop those to see how far it will squirt.

I'm sorry :rotfl:

I do agree you shoudn't pop them.

Channing- When we moved into our new house I got every one of my appliances from Sears (all Kenmore) The delivery dept does stink (hard time getting in touch with them) but they called me a few days before and gave me my time and I was to call them if I had problems. I think they then again give you an automated call. I never had a problem with anything not showing up. They did bust my cooktop. It was not ready to be installed so they put it in the garage. The builder opened it a few weeks later and it was busted. They came back and gave me a new one no questions asked. They also came back just to move my fridge from the garage into the house. (made a special trip for this) I think you will be fine. I am sure there are nightmare stories like everything else. I am not a Sears shopper but I do like their appliances.

You will be loving it when you can stuff about three loads into the washer. My laundry time is cut into 1/2!

Cute pictures Brook and Mandy. I have a Lily also (and a Lexi)! She will be 4 in July and is quite a little cutie. Maybe one day I will spend some time trying to figure out how to post pics!

Have a nice day. It storms and then the sun shines and then it storms again. Not good farming weather! My dh is a little grouchy. I love it when spring planting is over and the everything starts to grow, then summer comes and we worry about rain, then fall and we worry about getting the crops out before it frosts. It is a non-stop nightmare! All things have to go right in order for me to pay for my VIP Guide!!

Have a good day! I am hosting Happy Hour for my friends tonight so need to get cleaning.
Vanessa:)

OK, so now the rain is gone and it is sunny :confused3 We must be in for one doozy of a storm!! I am not down in the dumps, just tired and needed to clean my house (which I HATE TO DO!!!!)- but that is done now :woohoo:

Mr. Mike- welcome to our crazy little corner of the Dis!!!! If you thought we were kooky over there, just wait till you read on!! :dance3:

I will admit, Kristin, this thread does seem to be a bit kookier.
But Disney Kooky is 100 times better than just work or life Kooky.:)
