Good Morning Everyone . A little late, but I finally made it over .

Yesterday was a crazy day . I had DS home for the 3rd day in a row with allergies . He's MUCH better today . I had a few errands to run and picked up DS's homework.....lots to do this weekend on that . Then by the time I knew it, it was 3:00 and my other DS was getting home, I had to quick fast make dinner, then out of the house by 4:30 to head to a HS football game and didn't get home until 11:00 .......WHEW....and I'm just now getting caught up here .

Our schools dont start until the day after Labor Day...Just getting everything in order..DD is in HS too so its not so much to do anymore...except nag her to get up on time ....Oh and I'm sure they'll be that last minute something she forgot she needs ASAP...

Thanks . Tell me about it.....he was fine ALL SUMMER....and then as soon as school starts, we get hit with it . But I guess things work out for the best because we were scheduled to leave for Disney 9/25-10/3 for free dining (2007 bounceback offer), but we decided to cancel that due to DS starting HS....we didn't want to pull him out of school for 6 days right at the beginning....so we changed it. Good thing because with him missing the last 3 days, it would be more than hectic for him to miss another 6 coming up in 4 weeks . Plus I started to think he'd never get better and miss more days.....but the nasal spray and eye drops have really helped . So he should be good as new come Tuesday....we just have to get his homework done this weekend . Good luck to you starting school Tuesday . Once Labor Day comes and goes, it seems like time just flies by because the holidays are just around the corner!!!

Hey everyone...oh man I'm extremely tired today!
M&P...LOVE LOVE LOVE the new pictures. the castle in the background is just so beautiful at night! I can't wait to go!!!

Oh so this morning ds had his first class for learning how to skate for hockey. He did so well I was very impressed. By the end of the class he walked to the teacher unaided. He's never been on the ice before. So I signed him up for the next 8 weeks and am now on the hunt for a pair of ice skates for him...can I tell you all how very expensive the sport of hockey really is. Man...just for little boy skates you can spend up to $100...I'm ebaying ofcourse so I'm hoping for a deal

Update of sorts...dh says no matter what we'll still go on our disney trip. Good news as I didn't want to cancel. The kids don't know per say...we haven't said for sure to them we are going. DD would be asking everyday if we were going yet (she asks that about her bday some weeks ) so we plan to give them autograph books in their stockings as a way to tell them we are going to Disney.

Vbarry...have fun at the wedding...I had to laugh about being at the age where people start getting married AGAIN what age does that happen at My friends are all pretty much married off...we've got one friend this coming year and then my younger cousins will be getting married soon...I'm looking forward to those weddings. Oh and I guess bil is getting married this year so this will be the first year in a while we even have any weddings. Fun last half of the year that's for sure

Mickeynut...glad ds is on the mend...sounds like you guys did make the right decision to change your trip...could you imagine how it may have affected him to miss these days and then another 6 in just a few short weeks? LOL I wonder if the school would frown on that much time missed

Afternoon all~ Wow part 3, I remember when we began the first chat thread!

Ok, I have to say everyone pray for our friends in LA. We have two GF gals that are in the path of the storm Praline3001 and Arbonette, some of you are new and don't know them but just keep them in you thoughts and prayers!

Anyways it is a muggy rainy day here in Central FL! Ugh annoying, I had a ton of errands to run and it was like sunny then all the sudden it would pour then sunny again making it steamy!

Well, we are excited becasue HS and college football is back, our town is very much like Friday night lights and last night was the first hs game! We LOVE SEC games, BIG FL Gators fans here so we are cooking out to celebrate the first game!

Hi everyone. We just came back from the Mall. The first stop was to the Disney Store (the only one left in Connecticut). My DS had on his WDW shirt, DD had on her Mickey Mouse hair clip. I had my Mickey Mouse bracelet and was carrying my Mickey Mouse blue handbag that I got at Mouse Gear last month. Can't seem to get enough Disney! Only 323 days until the GF!! Thank goodness for this site to keep me going.

I hope our friends in NOLA get out in time. I have cousins in Baton Rouge. Pray for their safety too .

When we were at the GF last month, I went into the Basin store and found soap that had color Mickey heads in it. I went to their on-line store, and it wasn't there. Does anyone know how I can get this soap on line?

Love the GF pictures. Wish we were there now. DH has to work hard this year for next year's trip!!!

Hi Everyone! Just back from 8 WONDERFUL days at the GF. Wish we were still there! Already thinking about our next trip! DD6 blew kisses to the monorail as we got off from the MK into the GF to head back to MCO! Her and DS2 had the BEST time. I knew DD would love it, as she always does, but was not sure how DS would do on his very first trip! He LOVED it and being a lover of modes of transportation, he sure had his fill - from the airplane to the magical express "big bus," to the monorail, to the resort launch, to the MK train - he was thrilled with it all!

Channing - DAunt's surprise party was incredible! Thanks again for your insight! The event coordinator tended to EVERY detail. The buffet dinner was amazing, even better than the many signature restaurants we went to. I will let DAunt give everyone a full report!

M&P and Tinker*Shell*Bell - awesome pics! I also took many pics and will post as soon as I get a chance - there were over 500 pictures taken and some great ones of the GF and other areas of interest in the MK and EPCOT.

Mandy - the photo session was terrific - thanks for all of your help! While I did not have Faith or Grace (LOL) as I requested, ours was good none the less!

Can't wait to share more!

Good Afternoon All . Well.....I made a big deal over nothing.....DS is COMPLETELY DONE with ALL his homework from missing the last 3 days of school...now we can enjoy the long weekend without homework hanging over our heads .


mandy ~ We will definitely keep the others in our thoughts and prayers . These storms are just horrible and that area certainly doesn't need any more hurricanes . I hope everyone stays safe .




skjj2009 ~ Good for DS.....I bet he loves it . He'll be skating like an old pro in no time . Good luck with finding skates for him......all sports are so expensive anymore . But it's all worth it, especially if it's for something the kids love . And congrats on going ahead with the trip . You guys are going to have a great time!!!!!! I was kind of sad to change ours from September, but once I starting reading all about the GF and decided to book that for July, all the sadness kinda went away and excitement took over . We were originally going to stay at the Poly again (first stay was last September....which was awesome BTW)....but I decided it was time to try the GF and I haven't looked back since . And I know changing our dates was a very good decision with DS in HS.....it just would have been too hard this time around. We want to go back in December 2009 as well and as soon as I get my act together and book that, I will have MORE planning to do.....so not too much sadness about no Poly/free dining this year .



MommyGina ~ All I think about is Disney.....every day . My DH and DSs just laugh at me and tell me I'm nuts.....I can't get enough Disney, either....just glad I found the DIS . We've got just over 10 months before we have our first stay at the GF and I couldn't be more excited . So let the countdowns begin........next year will be here before we know it .

You can ONLY get it at the GF and I think DTD store. They do not sell it online. Sorry!

Vanessa, I made the cake this afternoon. Mine didn't come out nearly as pretty as yours (I think mine looks like a Smurfs house), but I learned things for the next time. DH's birthday is tomorrow, he likes it - so I was happy. Thanks for your tips -like adding more cake mix.

Good Evening Everyone!

I have been out of it the last few days. I got very sick the morning we checked into the GF and yesterday I finally got to the doctors. I am on a ton of meds and pain meds.

I will post some pics tonight though. I love the GF and staying there. I was extremely grateful to a certain CM who got me a room there and it was a great one with an MK view. I was on 4401 and it was awesome.

Before the GF we were at the OKW in a 1 bedroom and it was fab! I was very impressed with the staff, the space and the transportation. We never really had a bus issue. The mousekeeping was great and the food was good to. I would stay here in again in a heartbeat. Having all that space was soo nice.

Hobbester I think your cake looks great-with my baking talents we have deciced that Carvel cakes are the way to go ( I used to bake the roll of pre prepared cookies for my kids and tell them that I baked all day!!!)
