Morning all~ :goodvibes

I have to tell you all I had a crazy day yesterday. My kids went out side and I turned on the bubble machine and they went CRAZY running after them. I re potted a plant and got bit by something and now have a huge thing on my hand. Last night at 9:30 I was trying to get something from behind the bookcase in my kitchen and moved it slightly and a huge platter on top that I LOVE and collect fell and hit me on the head and broke into 3 pieces. Ugh, i have a cut on my scalp that bleed like crazy and then cuts on both my forearms. Both arms have big band aids, it looks like I tried to cut my wrist, and my head has a goose egg! Thank goodness this all happened 5 min before my DH got home from school but then he got home i was still sitting on the kitchen floor and he freaked. There was so much blood on my face and arms he freaked out and though I had been attacked and was like WHAT HAPPENED? I am so mad and began to cry when I told him my Gail Pitman platter broke :sad1:

I can not bend over today without my head throbbing. Makes laundry fun to do. :headache: :laundy:

The craziest thing is I sat down on a chair on our patio this weekend and it broke and I fell back and hit my head, upper back and my leg got really bruised up. I am a mess ya'll, I look like I have been in a kick boxing match. :scared1:

ETA: Forgot to mention the best part DD4 stepped on a sharred of glass and cuter foot AND her toe..... Poor baby!

Mandy - hope today is a better day for you!:grouphug:

I cannot believe Kel, Shel, M, and Linda are all now at the GF! I do hope they've met up.:)

I know - sure wish we were there! Can't wait to hear more about their trips!:goodvibes

Don't even get me started on the hair. I was in Middle school and High school in the late 70's and early 80's. Let me just say this about myself :

Perms + Aquanet = BIG HAIR

Lives4Disney ~ Glad to see your DD is going to play everything by ear and take it a little at a time, especially if she's very familiar with the school and feels comfortable :).

And yes....it is afternoon :rotfl:....and I don't know where the day has gone . I'm home all day today and have been getting on the computer between doing laundry, ironing, and a little cleaning :crazy2:. I keep telling DH it may be time for me to get a job :scared1: because I can't stay off the Dis :rotfl:. But I don't know how I'd manage since I've been a SAHM for soooo long.....don't know how I'd function in the work place without being able to chat here on the Dis whenever I wanted :lmao: :lmao:. Some things just aren't meant to change :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

ME TOO!!!! But then I think HOW WOULD I GET ANYTHING done?!?!?!?!!?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'd be glued to the computer when not at work!:rotfl2: Things would fall apart around me. NOw...don't get me started....I am sitting here taking my "lunch break"...:rotfl: with my computer and my IPOD on..listening to Disney podcasts....that's what I used to get away from it all when I am doing my housework.:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Mandy - hope today is a better day for you!:grouphug:

Hello Ladies!
What a wonderful day here! Jillian started school ALL DAY!!! :woohoo: :goodvibes :woohoo: Some mothers would cry and I get that but this was the longest summer of my life!!! :upsidedow Maybe it had to do with DH being home but man I was ready for her to go back! B is going to preschool on the 9th of Sept and I might be a little sad at that because he is my baby and he cracks me up!

Dawn-I am glad that school is going well for you! I am sure you are going to be a great teacher that the kids will love! :goodvibes

Chan- is it quiet in your house yet? LOL

Mandy-Ouch! I hope you are better today! That is terrible about your planter, too!

I am so jealous of everyone that is at the GF right now! Wish I was there!

Talk soon, Siobhan

Our house would be in utter turmoil EVERYDAY :lmao: :lmao:. Plus I don't think I could get out of the house early enough.....I must have my 2-3 cups of coffee and get my Dis fix.......and you can't possibly put a time limit on that :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:. And then to go ALL DAY at work WITHOUT chatting on here..........not possible :faint:. Of course DH and my two DSs think I'm TOTALLY NUTS......especially since I've been bouncing off the walls talking about our FIRST STAY at the GF next July :cheer2:. I so wish I was there now like some of the others are......they are soooo lucky :wizard:!!!!!!

Well....I better go get something else done around here before my 2 kiddos get home....in just 45 minutes :scared1: :scared1:. Catch you guys later :flower3:.

Hello Everyone!

We got back late last night. Took me a full 24 hours to be able to relax a bit and log on.
Just read through the last week and wanted to comment a bit ..

First, quoting myself...

:Chan im having that fluffy drink in the cabana no matter how much rain is pouring down on me :)

I had the drink i had the rain but sadly no cabana.

M&P~ Have a great trip! Have a drink in the cabana for me!! (and please try to keep your little ones controlled in the restaurants...no food throwing. Remember the straight jackets!)

Oh if I only had one....

To all who have done split stays how many days do you usually book at each resort??? Do you unpack at each resort...I am giving this serious consideration...Ofcourse GF would be 2nd half of trip. YC/BC look great also...:confused3

I've done splits for a week (2 nights and 5 nights)
and for 13 nights (2, 7, 4 nights)
Was actually in the planning stage for next year for a BWI and Poly but that is NOT going to be happening now...or ever really.

:cool1: Ok, my internet stinks, so I am keeping this short...but......
We have a great room with a direct view of the castle (4301 Chan) Perfection!
We just had the best day at the MK ever!!
Ir rained! It poured! And Almost everyone stayed away!!!!
We had so much fun!!!!

:

Ok ShelBell just gave you my trip report LOL

We were just a couple doors down from them and shared that great view! And i got to enjoy it each night on the BALCONY.

Would Chris be a CB "Cabana Boy"?

I wonder if this is the same Chris my daughter and our friends were talking about ALL WEEK!!!

Hey, we have power and my internet is back up!:yay: It is slower but it is up! I swear I have never met anyone that got water in their phone lines. Our phones are still garbled sounding, but not as bad. Verizon is down the road again this morning. I tried to use my sisters desktop yesturday but her keyboard is jacked up, LOL! When you hit a "M" a "," appears! LOL! NOW I know why she always uses her laptop!

Nice to meet you.
Every time we have a heavy rain our Verizon phone lines get a gurgling sound and our internet goes out. When we first moved here we'd put calls into Verizon and the service men responding told us it will always happen unless they replace all the lines in our neighborhood and that they will never do he told us.

Anybody hear from M & P or Tinkershel?
Chan:)

I wish i had my laptop but we packed as light as possible.
I tried posting from my phone but the service was spotty.

Maxie!
I have had both Vonnie and Joe in RPC check us in several times while we were at the parks. They work the 2-10 pm shift...I am not sure about Dan or Mejay...I bet Mejay would do it though. That is obnoxious that the SL staff wouldn't do it for you!!:headache: They then printed the boarding passes, put them in a folder and slipped it all under the door to our room.:thumbsup2 Easy as pie! Last time in July DH checked us in with his blackberry while we were in Epcot.

Channing:)

Im sure Meejay would do it too. And Im not surprised at all that Vonnie and Joe do it. They were all fantastic! I swear they made the trip so nice for us. I had more contact with Vonnie and Meejay and they are just wonderful.

I haven't been to Six Flags in a LONG time.....like 10 yrs!!!! So it's gotten that bad, huh?
CHan

My friends company had a day at Six Flags in NJ (great Adventure).
What a dump...it was filthy, disgusting, what a shock when you are used to Disney Parks.
We did think Dorney Park in PA was a very nice park...clean with nice workers.

LOL...omg....three posts in a row...who's lonely without her kids?:rotfl:

DAVID CASSIDY IS ON OPRAH!!!!! :cool2: I think I love you!!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Chan
You just brought back a vivid Karaoke memory of my single days. In my defense i did get a standing ovation for my performance.

Don't even get me started on the hair. I was in Middle school and High school in the late 70's and early 80's. Let me just say this about myself :

Perms + Aquanet = BIG HAIR

Oh how I wish i could show you pics of my wife and her girlfriends from high school. I swear Marge Simpson had nothing on them!

Anyway. We had a great trip. I didnt mind the rain at all. It kept a lot of the crowds away and we had little waits. Many rides we were asked if we wanted to stay on and only got off after 3 or 4 turns. We even got a frequent flyer card from Goofy's Barnstormers for riding 4 times in a row.

The GF was great, So many great castmembers and not only in RPC.
We enjoyed the pools even though it was raining and the hot tub was very nice when the rain was cold lol
We did have one pool scare that involved ...ummm...anyone see Caddyshack? Baby Ruth bar?....

Met ShelBell at the pool and bumped into her in a few other places ..including i think the barber shoppe at the MK on monday afternoon. Not sure if that was her though. Shel?

I had at least 2 days planned for rest but Toy Story Mania is such a great ride we spent 2 days there that weren't planned and went to AK which I didnt expect to do either. So it was another non stop trip and we are pretty tired.
Last tuesday they opened all the parks at 8am in case they would close early. We went to Disney Studios and just rode Toy Story Mania for the first 45 minutes. It was great!

Had no problem walking in the parks while it rained. The temperature was perfect..even with rain..not hot or cold.
A few times a heavy heavy rain would come out of nowhere but it wouldnt last long. We had some good laughs while standing there dripping wet.

One heavy rain happened in Epcot and there was a section in front of the Globe (on the Test Track side) that was so flooded the water was past your ankles. Glad I wore my crocs. And I only slipped once. But once was all i needed to fall on my but and pull my daughter down with me. It was pretty funny.

It was interesting to watch the news at night and see so many communites under water because while it did rain every day and was sometimes heavy it was nothing like the rest of the state got.

I'd like to get some pics up soon but Im never too fast at downloading and uploading them.

Oh my...I would have said Hi at the barber. I was rushing back to meet the rest of the family after Emily's princess breakfast and didn't even see you...I am so sorry! Em lost her "first haircut" ears, and they were nice enough to give me a new pair...i wanted to buy them, but they insisted on me just having them. They were so sweet there! Sorry about the tunnel vision!

and

I have pics of that Epcot flood. Pics of me standing barefoot in the "pond" that formed. Keith took video of us "wading" out...it was funny! I am so sorry you slipped and fell though, that would not be fun!

One question M&P...why did your daughter want 'buttered hot dogs' for breakfast in the lounge...before I even knew it was you I see this adorable little girl being carried by her daddy talking about buttered hot dogs....too cute!!! It is so nice to be able to put a face to the name, and your son is a doll...blowing raspberries and all! :)

It wasn't until you walked back out that i thought it might be you. and then you were gone.

Buttered hotdogs? haha too funny. i dont even remember that.
I might have tuned her out. Im very good at that. But she does say some wierd things when she is tired. On the way back from the vip tour last month while being driven back to the resort she told us a giant fly was eating her food :confused3

Morning All~

Welcome home Shelli & M&P

So glad you both had great trips despite the rain! When you recover we would love to hear/see details!

We got another storm brewing and I had a dream last night our windows leaked and it flooded and our cars were covered!

Hello Everyone!

Wow I cant believe it! Besides my immediate neighbors you are a first! People look at me like I am crazy when I have mentioned water in the lines. Yep, heavy rains or the side ways type of rain we get sometimes is a sure bet that our stuff gets messed up! :umbrella:

Siobhan~ Yay for having one off to school! I bet B will love preschool! WE need to chat, it has been a while! I am emailing you in a sec.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes on my head and plate! It is a nice goose egg still and I am icing it a few time a day, I am afraid that when I bend over it might bleed again. I know it won't but it throbs and I am paranoid about it! I get my hair done tomorrow and I am totally freaked about her reopening it so I might cancel and wait a week, I just look like a shaggy poodle! LOL :rotfl:

The funny thing about the plate is I totally have fallen in love with a new Gail Pitman line I just saw yesterday! I love the stuff she makes for Southern Living at HOME! Oh, and my friend told me about a artist that takes pieces of ceramic and make really cool necklaces, I think I am gonna take her a part of it and see what she can do! :thumbsup2

Talk to you all later!
M

Good morning!! Where is everybody?? I figured with the kids all going back to school now I was late coming in here today.:goodvibes

Mandy! What a cool idea for your plate. I am going to have to google her and see what he stuff looks like. Along the same lines, maybe you could do a mosaic or something with the pieces....I was picturing just that it broke in 3 good size pieces...I'd be having DH glue it back together for me.:rotfl: Glad your feeling a bit better about the whole thing. I hope you keep healing.:flower3:

M&P and Sheli!!
Whoohooo :cool1: Welcome back!!! I cannot wait to hear what FANTABULOUS trips you both had.:goodvibes Details details! You know us!! We soak that stuff up!

Dawn!!:thumbsup2 I am so glad it's going so well for you. :goodvibes I miss chatting with you though. It's so quiet and not the same around here.

well......i slept like a rock straight thru the 6 am alarm...:rotfl: Good thing DH is in the swing and woke me up. Lucy was already dressed and had already eaten bfast!:rotfl: OMG....that's just great but we'll see how long that lasts. We were off to this start last year but then it goes away fast. I am miserable. It's so quiet...but I know I will get used to that....I am bad with change. I remember at the start of summer thinking I AM NOT GOING TO LIKE THIS......:rotfl2: I think it's more me being miserably tired.

Kristin??? Did DS start?? How are you doing??? Breakfast??? How were the Dells??

ok...talk to ya later,
Channing

Good Morning Everyone!!

Welcome Home M&P and Sheli!!!

Channing - I was thinking that maybe you can devise a plan with Lucy and the white cane. That she uses it Monday, Wednesday, Friday and then she uses the foldable one Tuesday and Thursday.

Natalie is so much happier when she feels like I am on her side, or when she feels I understand.

Mandy - Great idea for the plate, I really hope you feel better!!!

Dawn - Way to go, girl!!!:woohoo:

My DH said I can book next July by the end of the week!! Its a long way to wait, but I told him I need a ticker.

Now, I just have to worry about my DS and HS (passing regents and classes). I think we have to go a little later with my DHs new bosses (CME)!! I am thinking July 25th, we also have to go from Saturday to Sunday so he only misses one full week. The company is still going to be real busy for a year and my DH only wants to be away one week.

Annette.
..you are so sweet to think of this for me....ugh. Something like that....some type of compromise is needed. And you are so right. Lucy is the same. She needs me on her side. I want to be on her side!! :) Last year I PAID her to use it for a week......we settled on $25 if she used her cane for 5 days. Well...I thought if she would just put it out there and take the slack for the week (or hopefully just the first couple days of using it) the kids would just get used to seeing her with it and lay off. But after that week she just did NOT want to use it anymore. I guess kids don't lay off.:sad2: I would have paid her for another week's use, but she said NO....she just is determined not to use it at school.

I am dropping the rigid cane. That is just now out of the picture. I even think the mobility teacher did. She was going to measure Lucy for it but she didn't. She saw the distress on Lucy's face at the mention of it. I found out that many blind adults don't even always use any white canes if they're in familiar territory so I am just leaving it to Lucy's discretion. There are sooo many meanies and she doesn't have the self assurance yet to just be herself on this issue. She did use it on field trips last year...I forgot about that....so that tell me that she DOES use it when she really needs it...KWIM? It's tough being 12 and then tougher when you're not like everybody else.

Happy day,

Channing:)

Welcome Back M&P and Tinker Shell!!

Sounds like you all had great trips! Can't wait to hear more and see your pics!:)

Wishes - good for you on getting your DH to commit to booking a trip for next summer! My DH won't commit yet! We are going to Atlantis next June so he's dragging his feet on the GF! I'm working on him, though, otherwise I'm just going to have to just book it for next August. Don't know why he's dragging his feet - he knows how I operate !;) :goodvibes

Channing I just emailed you a link to the online catalog from Southern Living at HOME with the page numbers of my beloved Gail Pittman stuff! I think the stuff she make for SLAH is so much better than the stuff she sells on her website!

Hi All!!!

Sorry I was MIA the past few days  DS started kindergarten yesterday. I didn't cry (which is a HUGE shock since I cry at the Olympics etc.) DH and I took him to the bus stop and he got on without looking back!! :thumbsup2 We met him at school for a quick picture but he was already to color at "his workspace" and was oblivious that we were there!! Going all day is a BIG change though. I took him to dinner last night and his head almost hit the table! He was zonked!

I also baked one of those cookies by design back to school bouquets while he was gone, so I will post pics later!!

Hey guys, just checking in. We are ALL PACKED and ready to go. Flight leaves tomorrow morning and we should hopefully be in Orlando by noon. WHEEEEEE!!!!!! :cool1:

I know I missed you, but I hope you are having a great time!!

Kristin~ Did you make it to the Dells this weekend??

The Dells was fun! I am glad we decided to stay the night since Friday's weather was overcast and humid. But Saturday's was crystal clear and BEAUTIFUL!!! It still isn't WDW though ;)

I DID IT!!! My first day in the classroom! :cool1: Oh it was great..and the kids (5th graders) were fab! I think this is what they call the "honeymoon phase" :rotfl2: I really felt like a teacher when they they wanted to know about Mrs. Student Teacher! Also when they wanted ME to sign their papers. No teaching yet...just getting to know you activities ;) I'll have to jump in next week cause I have an observation in two weeks from my supervisor!:scared1:

Hooray for a great first day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Don't even get me started on the hair. I was in Middle school and High school in the late 70's and early 80's. Let me just say this about myself :

I am ready for breakfast whenever you are!!! :lmao:
I am glad the cane issue died down. I don't understand why she would need to change if her foldable works fine :confused3 It is such a tough age anyway without adding unnecessary stress :grouphug:

Welcome home M&P and Shelli!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bummer about your head! :faint:

My sister has that too, it is great.... She buys her dog birthday and christmas gift and it was his birthday gift a year ago. I have a funny story about those dog bowls from when I use to sell SLAH and the dog bowls came out, I had 7 people at 1 party buy them for their beloved fur babies! One lady flipped out in love with them as soon as she saw them and said that she loved nice dog bowls and since he was part of the family he needed GP dinnerware too! That was all it took, everyone else had to get a set! One lady quetly told me that she felt guilty making her dog eat out of a old pieplate so she was gonna get those! LOL :rotfl: I was blown away at how popular they were and still are! That party was known as the dog bowl party :rotfl:

I LOVE GP stuff! I sold SLAH for 4 years to get all her stuff! I have a 12 place settings of her hand painted stuff and the Christmas memories stuff with all the accessories. LOL! I am not a consultant anymore but still get stuff through my friend at cost since I gave her all my big spender customers.

I don't have a lot of it (I only went to my first party last fall). But we had just painted the mudroom this wonderful cranberry red and put on a french door etc. so it looked too fancy for the dog's old set. I thought DH was going to give me MAJOR grief over it but he liked it.

I am more of a Pampered Chef gal myself :lovestruc
