Good morning gals! I got Lexi off to school yesterday. She was up at 6:00 a.m. ready to role. You guys are scaring me with your teenager stories. :scared1: YIKES! We got to bed around 10:00 to 10:30 and I am up early and so are the girls. I guess that is gonna change one day! YUCK!

Well~ I am still running. I am a little scared about this 1/2 thing but we shall see how things go. I did not sign us up yet- kidding to see what Evie would say. I think I am going to do one or the other and they are both open right now so we shall see. I am going to make my mind up in a few weeks after runn.

Channing~ Did you see the new Xmas tree. I love it!! I ordered one from Peggy but was going to see if she could change that order to an order for stockings and order the one from WDW florist. VERY CUTE! :santa:

Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon!:goodvibes

Lesley is already on her way.....I am sure she'll have a great time.:cool1:

Vanessa! I just took a look....the Neverland tree? VERY CUTE!! Perfect for a family with little girls.:) I couldn't have had that tree with Zack so I am glad they offered a diff style for us...well i probably could have but I would have felt weird having a Tinkerbelle tree with a 16 yr old boy.:rotfl: OMG...I can't believe you guys already started school. No...we are night owls here.:rolleyes1 Today I got up at 11 am!!!! LOL...my dog has a good bladder....she woke me up at 10:30 with her soft face in mine and then Jojo came into my room at 11 so I got out of bed. I hate early mornings...we all do here.

Where is everybody?? :confused3 Probably out having fun.:thumbsup2 ......I don't have any fun planned today. Just out to run errands.

Talk to ya all later,

CHanning:)

Hey, Dawn!! Yep...looks like it's just US!!!:rotfl2: We have the duty of keeping this thread alive and not dropping 1/2 way down the page!:thumbsup2

Dawn!! I am excited and nervous for you!!!!! :rotfl: I hope you have a great start to school tomorrow!!:goodvibes

That is neat about your "baby" staring HS , too....is he looking forward to it? Zack just declared he needs to go back to school shopping TODAY.:rotfl: DH already gave him 3 hrs yard work to make up for all the slacking he has done all week.....that kid.:rolleyes1 :headache: Plus he has to drop his bud off in Schaumburg this afternoon.

Lucy's mobility teacher is picking HER up early tomorrow morning to take her over to the school and show her her class room area and go thru her schedule with her. Tomorrow it's the end of sleeping in and lazing around. We go tomorrow afternoon to drop off Jojo's supplies and meet her teacher.....a teacher I am LESS than thrilled about getting. I am crossing my fingers on that one....there are several of her little pals in the same class but the teacher ....eh. I had higher hopes.:rotfl: :rotfl: I am picky.

As I am typing this I am having second thoughts about Z driving M to Schaumburg on his own....thinking I will do it.:rotfl:

I haven't been to Six Flags in a LONG time.....like 10 yrs!!!! So it's gotten that bad, huh? I used to love it when I was in HS....and back when Marriot owned it it was really nice but it seems it's been going down hill for like the past 30 yrs. I have no desire to go there....when they hand out the reading rewards at the end of the school year my girls always turn down the Six Flags tickets...it's kind of embarrassing as most do go there, but they know it's not our thing.:rotfl2: Do you ride those coasters??? Kelly was saying she is dragging me onto Everest....I was ADAMANT....NO WAY!!! She cracked up...because she has never heard me be so firm!:rolleyes1

Well.....talk to ya later....I might be heading to Scumburg later today.

Just wanted to wish everyone who's starting school tomorrow GOOD LUCK :cool1: :cool1:. Out here in NW Indiana we started last Wednesday so we've already got 3 days under way ;).

tinklvr ~ Just wanted to say good luck and have fun on your "official" first day of school with kids :flower3:. You are going to be a GREAT teacher :teacher:. And I know what you mean about a new high schooler.....my oldest DS is a Freshman and I was going nuts last Wednesday wondering how his day was going and how he was making it :scared:. When he came home he said everything went fine....he likes all of his teachers and other than it being SCHOOL, he likes it :). So tomorrow will be a good day.....don't worry about your baby :goodvibes.

Lives4Disney ~ are you saying you have NEVER been on Everest???? That is one of the most awesome rides there is :woohoo: :woohoo:. Of course I like coasters, but still.....you HAVE TO try it out.....it's a great ride :cool1: :cool1:.

Good morning everyone!! WOW...where is everyone??

I was at the Six Flags in St. Louis about 3 years ago....YUCK! We will never go back!

Cannot wait to hear about your first day Dawn. Hope it goes well!! :)

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning to all :goodvibes. I'll join the rest of you in not liking Six Flags . It's probably been 10 years since we've been and we will never go back :sad2:.

Hope everyone has a good day today :). And Happy First Day of School for those of you that are just starting school today :flower3:.

tinklvr ~ Have a great first day with kids :teacher:.

Good day all!!!

I just got dd up and said that she had to get ready for the bus. This is our first full day of school and she already said "can you just drive me today":scared1: It is going to be a long week!

Channing~ the tree you saw was the one I really liked. I thought it was very different and I can see where your son would not get into a tinkerbell tree!

I just got dd up and said that she had to get ready for the bus. This is our first full day of school and she already said "can you just drive me today":scared1: It is going to be a long week!

I hear ya.....that's happened in our house before :rotfl:. I always drove my two DSs to and from school until they started middle school (6th grade)....then they WANTED to ride the bus......so I figured what the heck.....easier for me . But they actually only have this year to ride the bus since my now Freshman just turned 15 the end of June and will get his license next July....so he'll be driving to school next year :scared1:. Although I'll be a total wreck once he starts driving, I have to admit it will be nice since both DSs will be in high school so they can ride together instead of taking the bus....and the high school is only 5 minutes away so it's not far :). Although the oldest I'm sure will think he's too cool to have his brother with him :rotfl: :rotfl:. It's always something with teens!!!!

Hey all...im sneaking in a post before everyone comes in...my internet at home was acting up all night last night!
Thanks everyone....my boys got off to school fine this morn except for being VERY TIRED! Chan just wait:lmao: Vanessa funny about your DD yes its going to be a long week!
Mickeynut~you all are already back in the swing of things! I cant believe summer is gone already!

Chan good luck with Lucy and her teacher..thats nice to meet up before the first day! Also Jo will have a good time no matter what....plus you are good and will keep a eye on her...give the teacher a stink eye if you have too!

Hey Kristin...i heard no strike this morn on WGN news! thats good news!

everyone have a great day!
Here goes me acting like a teacher :scared1:

dawn:)[/B]

Morning all~

I have to say I am NOT a morning person and would be a major mess getting kids up and ready for school. :surfweb: 2 years ago when DS did preschool it was horrible!:scared:

My kids are driving me mad already and my to do list is so LONG today! Sooooo I am getting everyone dressed and making them go jump on the trampoline to burn it all off! I wish I had 4 treadmill for them to get on! Anybody watch puppies fight and get in one big pile when they do? That is my precious darlings today, a pack snotty fighting kids and they wont keep their hand to each other or off the others toy! Ugh just totally be annoying and doing things to irritate the others! I am so close to taking away tv time and video game time, if it wasn't for the long to do list it would have already been done! .......

Good Morning Everyone!!

No school here yet. Not until next Tuesday (DS - freshman in HS) and Wednesday (DD - 6th Grade)!!!

Dawn - Good luck, I can't wait to hear all about it!! Your going to be great!!!

tinklvr ~ YAY for your first day.....go have fun...you'll be great :teacher:. I'm pretty much back in the swing of things because I'm used to getting up as I get up with DH every morning to get him out the door......but I did have to adjust to getting my 2 DSs up last week . They usually do pretty good the first few days and then it goes downhill........so I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop one of these mornings :lmao: :lmao:. My Freshman was given a small packet for a biology project that he has to do over the next 5 MONTHS :scared1: :scared1:. It's an experiment that's done in sections and is due mid-January....so needless to say I'm freaking out over that because I HATE biology and this stinkin' project is gonna drive me crazy :rotfl: :rotfl:. Also....I just had to chuckle at you telling Kristen what you heard on WGN news because it seems like people are so far away from you on these boards, but alot of them are right in our backyards ;). I see you guys are from Illinois (hence....WGN news...DUH :upsidedow)......I'm only about 30-40 miles from Chicago and the suburbs.....I go up to Woodfield Mall every year the day after Thanksgiving and we always make our way to Oak Brook for dinner....which we actually just did Saturday night....so it's neat to see you guys mention places that I know exactly where they are......I guess it's a small world (afterall....:rotfl: :rotfl:).

Mandy ~ It will get better :flower3:. Let them jump to their hearts content on the trampoline so they wear themselves out :rotfl:. Good luck today :).

WishesQueen ~ NO SCHOOL UNTIL AFTER LABOR DAY ????? WOW!!! I guess that's how it was when I was in school.....don't know who came up with the idea of starting school in the middle of August.......it's still summer vacation :scared1:. Enjoy your week off :yay:.

Well...I hope everyone has a great day today :flower3:. I better get going....have lots of errands to run today.....catch ya all later :).

Hey all!!

It's early here for me!! I can't even sit at MY spot at the kitchen table becuase the sun is shining right in my face.:rotfl: I need to sleep in a bit more.:rotfl2: Z caught the bus at 6:30...OMG IS IT COLD at 6:30!!!!!! And Lucy got picked up a bit ago by her cane/mobility lady....she's going to be back soon though. Jo = still sleeping.;)

Vanessa....that tree is darling. I say go for it. :thumbsup2 If it's like the one we ordered and it seems to be about the same price point:scared: - It's cuter than it even looks online, about 4 ft tall, very full and wide, and you will use it somewhere in your house year after year. I have no regrets about paying $400 for that tree....I thought i'd be kicking myself but I never did....even DH (Mr. CHeapy) who I did keep in the dark re the price:rotfl: guessed how much it cost when he saw it becuase it's sooooo cute. AND the best part....he didn't care!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Also...been meaning to ask ya how was The Cove??!?:confused3 Was that a fun weekend getaway??

Dawn!!!
Happy first day of school!!!! I hope it all goes well.:goodvibes

Mandy
....lol....I love puppies!!!:goodvibes Jojo is my puppy girl. That is so cute to picture. I guess there are pluses to sending the kids bye bye on a school bus....:rotfl:

OK (probably directed toward Annette)...quick advice needed....the mobility teacher broke the news to Lucy about using a rigid white cane so it cannot be folded, hidden, put away, etc...and Lucy all about bust out in tears....she is having mega issues with self consciousness with that white cane that started last year in middle school. Last IEP meeting I agreed to the rigid cane....now I am not sure. I don't want to make her sooo unhappy. I really don't want her to resent me, either. But...she kind of needs to use a white cane. I am torn...but totally leaning against the rigid from teh look of horror & panic on her face.:guilty: That was not good. She used to use the white cane in grade school no problem. Middle school opened a while new can of worms.....Does your DD use a white cane?

Well....I will talk to ya all later!

Mickeynut....:rotfl: That other shoe dropping is exactly how it goes at our house!!! The first few days are great....we are all psyched up or something....and then it gets old fast.:rotfl2: And the weather gets cool and it's DARK getting up that stinkin' early. I hate that!

That's neat you are in the Chicago area.:goodvibes Kristin and I are up northwest of Chicago and Dawn is more West/ north.:) There are some a couple hours south of Chicago, too. We had a IL meet at Woodfield last month!:goodvibes

I wonder how all our Dis friends are doing at WDW? Anybody hear any more from Sheli or Kel??

Chan

LOL...omg....three posts in a row...who's lonely without her kids?:rotfl:

DAVID CASSIDY IS ON OPRAH!!!!! :cool2: I think I love you!!!!:cool1: :cool1:

I feel like I am talking to myself.:rotfl2:

Happy day,

Chan

Hi Channing~ You are not alone! It is VERY quiet here. We ended up going into the Dells instead of the Cove. We thought the kids would like it better but I think we will try the Cove next time. It is about an hour closer and the trip to the Dells is long for just a weekend.

I think I am going to get the tree. I emailed Peggy since I already bought and paid for one from her but decided to see if she would exchange for stockings with goodies etc. Hopefully that will work because I think the tree looks really cute and would look nice in our loft ever year.

Kristin~ Did you make it to the Dells this weekend??

I know what you mean about it being dark early in the morning......I HATE that.....and at that time it's REALLY HARD to get my two up as they think it's still night time and they should be sleeping :rotfl: :rotfl:.

I bet the meets are fun :goodvibes. What do you guys do? Are there lots of you or just a few?

LOL...omg....three posts in a row...who's lonely without her kids?:rotfl:

I had errands to run today and just got home........otherwise I would have been GLUED to the computer :lmao: :lmao:. My two will be home in 30 minutes......not much quiet left for me :rotfl:.

Hello my friend, before we talk about the girls, I wanted to tell you my DH now works for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange!!! He has many more trips to Chicago and stays at the Fairmont. If by chance its a good time for me (with school) I would take a trip with him. Hopefully, we can get together with the other IL girls. Distance is not clear to me, I hope its all possible one day!!

OK!! on to Natalie, Natalie doesn't need a cane. At least it hasn't been an option anyone has ever spoken to me about. But having a visually disable daughter, I would still love to talk it out with you.

First of all, whats the advantage of a rigid white cane vs. the foldable one? I see many, many people with foldable canes adults, children etc.

Secondly, if she is flipping over this and upset, someone has to try something to help her. Maybe if I understand why white and rigid we can move from there. I am also able to speak to many people that help with Natalie for any help or suggestions.
