I wear mine on the water rides too! I also don't like the cheepos, they are like wearing wet saran wrap once water gets on them, YUCK

I never knew this?! :thumbsup2 I go through about 1 per trip (since I am a dork and wear them on water rides!!!)

FYI: We have some of the 99 cent specials from Walmart (you get them in the camping section) and it is like wearing a Hefty bag. DH tried them once and won't do it anymore. I much prefer the WDW ponchos since they are vinyl or something, so they don't "cling" like the cheapies do!

Somebody inevitably ends up tearing theirs or pulling the snaps off:rotfl: ....SAVE the receipt and you can swap the ruined one for a new. I was told a few trips ago by a CM that that was an option so we've taken advantage of it a couple times.

Happy travels & hopefully no ponchos needed!!:thumbsup2

We almost got away without needing them until my birthday! (one week into the trip) Standing in the line to see Bjorn Again the skies clouded up and i thought..."NO WAY AM I MISSING THIS SHOW" haha...so I sent DH to buy some for use while we waited.;) After that there were a few days it rained DELUGES all day. We got really REALLY lucky with the cabanas, too though...whenever we rented them it was sunny!:goodvibes Other days they were rented & unavailable it rained. Somebody was looking out for us.:goodvibes

Channing :)

Too funny!! I bought mine in May at the PPP party at the Christmas store in Liberty Square. The lady looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked for it :rotfl: I told her it was because we were on our way to Splash and then pointed to my white jolly roger shorts I was wearing. ;)

Last August, I ripped mine the last night riding Splsh over and over and used my anniversary button to "reclose" the top!! Wish I would have known about the trade in policy!!

Hi, again! First ...about those Target rain ponchos...did you know that the Disney ones are $7.50 and if you tear them they are replaceable anywhere they are sold with the original receipt? That has saved us a few times and a lot of money.:rotfl: I don't know about the TArget ones, but the Disney ones tear easily!!!

I did bring a lightweight cotton sweater...I only used it once though. I hate when I get hot and sticky and go into AC and FREEZE,, but I just didn't get as hot and sticky this time around. ;) The weather was almost comfortable!! Be prepared though...I would bring one lightweight longer sleeved layer.

Happy packing!!

Lives4Disney :)

Thanks Lives for the tip about the rain ponchos! I'd much rather buy them at disney, especially that you can replace them ,than have to pick up any more items for our trip...Have begun packing for DH and I...As for the teens they will probably be asking for things that are in the wash the night before we leave:rotfl: The last time we did a photo session I asked everyone to bring an xtra white shirt for the pics one ds brought a white undershirt with cut off sleeves:scared1: but I cant pack for everyone...or maybe I should:lmao:

Ya the ponchos save you from the rain...BUT its so hot and humid that i could grow a whole rainforest under there!:lmao:

I DO!!!! It drives me stressfully insane but I DO...I would get the same type of surprises...DS was thinking he'd only bring JEANS and CARGO PANTS in July to WDW!! Crazy...he also brought hair gel in his carryon!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: BUSTED by Barney Fife at Midway.:rotfl: :rotfl: DH would forget to bring anything....he has been known to LEAVE everything behind in the hotel and fly home with an empty bag....He will never live that one down:rolleyes1 ..I have to pack for them all both ways.

Lives4Disney Only a teenage boy would think that jeans and cargo pants would be comfortable to wear in WDW in July:rotfl: I hope you packed some shorts for him....how about a rain poncho!!!!! Come to think of it maybe I'll help everyone pack...that would round things out a bit...Absolutely NO undershirts or any shirt with cutoff sleeves this time around...I picked out outfits for photo sessions-leaving nothing to chance:thumbsup2

DD6 princess: loves to write and just put together a detailed list of things she'd like to bring! Her list proves that she can pack more efficiently than DH! DH never gets to pack his own clothes, for if he did, his beloved basketball sneakers (which I totally hate) would find there way in the suitcase. :scared1: I like DH in reefs, flip-flops, or boat shoes! I will have to be sure to pack double for DS2, who wears more of his food than he actually eats. popcorn:: All I know is, I will be doing laundry and packing for days gearing up for our trip! :laundy:

DUncle :smokin: has zero outfitting ability - thank goodness you dress him! Who will be packing for DD16? :hippie:

Morning gals! Well I am off to a conference for work for the weekend. Dh gets to come along so that is good! I have been soo busy trying to catch up with laundry etc from being gone all weekend and then getting ready to go again. I had to pack the girls also to go to St. Louis with their aunt. It has been crazy but I wanted to say Hi!! (thanks Evie for keeping my daughter last night!)

Dh is really waffling on our Xmas ressie at GF since I have points left with DVC. I did go ahead and make a backup ressie at VWL in a one bedroom with points just in case. (could not believe this was still available)

I know you do not keep up with the farming industry but we are in for a crazy ride so dh says even though we will make money this year we have heard it will cost a TON more money to put in our crop next spring. Farming is such a roller coaster! I just feel bad spending $5000 to stay at GF if I can use points. I am not giving up yet. Things may change and crop prices might get higher again. Anyway- I will know better about October!

Have a great weekend everyone! V

Morning GALs! The verizon man is coming over today to work on the wiring around here! I am giddy keep running to eh window every time I think I hear vehicles out side LOL! :cheer2:

Unfortunatley DVD's bought in the US don't work in UK, European and I think Japan DVD players as they are region coded. Ours have a small map of the world on them and a number 2 and I think yours have a 1. It's all a money making scheme from the film companys. DH thinks US DVD's might work on the laptop or if played through the PS3. We are there until the 23rd so it might be worth buying a copy. Then again I could end up with a house full of kids wanting to watch it when we come back:eek:
Thanks again.

Kirsty

Well you learn something everyday! I had no clue! I hope you can use it in a lap top b/c I was all excited for your DD whenI saw that!

It rained the day of our pics (I think our session was at 3pm or so) We just took them indoors and in the covered areas outside so it wasn't so bad.

FYI, We had a disaster the day of our photo shoot and the main water line in our building broke and no could get nice and pretty so we called to see if we could reschedule and they had lots of options available for the next day so I would at least try if it looks like rain for you photoshoot!!

I wear mine on the water rides too! I also don't like the cheepos, they are like wearing wet saran wrap once water gets on them, YUCK

We wear ponchos fro water rides too! And before crocs DH and I would take off our tennis shoes and sock and slip on some flip flops we brought in our backpack!

Ya the ponchos save you from the rain...BUT its so hot and humid that i could grow a whole rainforest under there!:lmao:
Best comment of the day! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: brings new meaning tot save the rain forest:rotfl: :rotfl: !

I packed for my DH, I have to dress the man b/c he just cant put a outfit together! I feel sorry for him pre me! LOL :rotfl:

Welcome Bamatiger!

BTW, on the whole torn poncho and being able to swap it fro a new one, we got pens for our kids to go with the autograph books and they were the worst! They would not write then would bleed ink every were, the caps did not stay on ect. I was in the GF shop down stairs (the one down from the Cafe) and when i was checking out I saw these pens and said man I wish I had seen these they look way better than the ones from the mercantile and the lady asked what was wrong with them and I told her and she said here how many do you need and put them in my bag at no charge! Great service!

Morning Gals....TIRED TODAY!!:surfweb: i am gulping coffee this morn! :faint:

Mandy...hopefully you get that connection fixed!! that way when u chat u can stay longer than 2 min!:lmao:

Kristin and Chan...you want to meet for lunch??? Vanessa and Evie you are welcome but i know its a hike!:scared: I am available next week anyday except Wed and Fri. I can drive up by you all...

Vanessa...my relatives in Princeton area are farmers..I totally know what you are talking about. Dont fret as long as you are at Disney at Xmas thats what counts!

have a good day gals....
dawn:upsidedow

Welcome BamaTigger. No kids here either (I'm still working on my husband about this issue - tick/tock/tick/tock). I have 3 cats (2 outdoors, the other comes in some nights), no dogs right now (my last one passed away over a year ago and I just can't make myself get another one yet). Anyway come chat anytime.

I try to pack for my husband, but he would rather do it himself. The last time he left his walking shoes and his belt. We bought him some Mickey Crocs (or Frogs as he likes to call them) and we found a belt in the mens store at the GF.
