I am just able to get back online after a busy weekend! Thank you, Linda for your warm welcome! I totally understand about feeling exasperated at times! My 2-year-old "little man" keeps me on my toes at times! In fact, at this very moment! DD is a gem - thank goodness!

We have 19 days until our trip and we can't wait! :goodvibes

Question about food offerings in Sugar Loaf - what items are available for little picky eaters (especially breakfast)?:)

I have a PICKY eater, too!! Amazingly though...she can find a pretty decent breakfast in the concierge lounge. They have ham/turkey and cheese platters out. She usually puts a variety of that stuff on her plate, some sort of carb :) - they have croissants and bagels & bread for toast....and she is picky about the fruit though...they only have melon & pineapple out so she does a banana. :thumbsup2 There is a variety of cereals and danish out also. HOpefully something will appeal!!:goodvibes

Kristin, Hannah is going to miss two weeks of kindergarten in February; I think this is the last year she will miss school for vacation.
I am feeling guilty about it, but I really only want to be at Disney over one weekend instead of two because of crowds. Weekend before we get there is Superbowl and weekend after we leave is President's Day. I am hoping it won't be too crowded while we are there.
It sucks that it won't be long before I will have to stick to school vacation to go to Disney. :rotfl: Now I see why Mandy homeschools! :goodvibes

Andrea.
.I used to take my kids out for 2 wks at a time every Jan/Feb for our Disney trips. I did it until they reached middle school. (Well until DS did)...then the fun was over. We have to stick to the school schedule now....crowds and high prices. Take advantage of being able to take Hannah out of school when you can - while she's young. She will be fine and catch up quickly. No worries!:goodvibes

Happy planning,

Chan

Andrea...fyi we have lots of parents who take their little ones out for vacay in our school. Sometimes 2 months:scared1: Dont worry she will be fine! Im pulling the boys out for 2 days over T-giving break and that will be alot of make up for them..:scared:

Just some "friendly" words....its funny how that word all of a sudden has a double entendre???

Isnt it funny how some peeps can be so blatant with their choice of words but others are called to the carpet??? HMMMMMM double standard??

GF is wickee booked for jan and feb
super bowl is in tampa

I know. I am scared about crowds now. :scared1: We are spoiled with low crowds. Don't like to wait in lines. :rotfl: But at least I have our RPC rooms booked and waiting! Thanks, Kel. Are you feeling better?

A

I think that alot of the rooms are booked for the super bowl they wont be at disney that much.

I am feeling better, thank you for asking.

Dawn I just made ressies for the tea in Jan. I could only make for 5 people, so just the girls are going. Just call the regular dining # and they will know what you are talking about, You should call soon.:goodvibes

My daughter's eye is looking worse, I probably call Dr. in AM. I am worried her friends are going to be scared of her.

Kristin Don't feel bad about taking your son out of kindergarten or grade school. I have taken my 2 oldest out the last 2 years, and they always catch up. This year, we are going over MLK and they will only miss 4 days in 3rd and 4th grade. I probably only have 1 more year of that with my son goin to be in jr high and sports. So, enjoy it is so worth it !!!:)

Kel? you feelin' better? Hope so!!!:)

Evie, sorry about your daughter's eye!! And your car!!! omg...that is sooo crappy. I hope it works out with the insurance etc.... Well...I wish you were here to egg me on about Branson!! I decided nogo. DH doesn't have a ton of vacation days left and I am concerned that DS will line up a friend to go and maybe it will fall thru and I'd be stuck feeling his JOY at going on another family trip. I will go with them next summer and leave DS at home. He will be almost 19 by then.:thumbsup2

ttfn,
Chan

Evie~ok thanks i will call soon for my mom and I's tea! Hope your daughter's eye is okay..yikes! Eyematey!

ya know how i was saying i was lamo about making my ressies for our week?? well i did step it up and made some tonight...the only one we couldnt get into was Le Cellier...thats okay cause were going to Yachtsman anywho..im just making these cause i dont want to be caught with nothing when we get down there. Im so not a fan of ADR's cause we like to be spur of the moment depending what we are feeling like eating...well not at Disney!:scared: Although i could barely eat when im there...popcorn, junk and coffee and i'm set! ;)

SOX ROCKS! (plus we have the hottest looking team along with the yanks! :thumbsup2 )

I was about to agree with you but the Twins have played 111 games and the sox 110....sooooooooo :rolleyes1

So true...but the way the Sox are playing.......who knows? It's great baseball and if you're truly a fan of the sport, this is what's it all about!

I don't think there's anything "friendly" about it. :( Actually I don't think anybody here does.

I am glad I don't care about baseball ....Just cheering along with my IL friends to be NICE .:rotfl:

Yeah, I'm kind of outnumbered here but the Twins are used to being the underdogs! If you really don't care about baseball, then you probably don't get it.:confused3 It's all in good fun!:thumbsup2 I'm sure the Sox and the Twins will jockey back and forth into first a number of times before end of season. It's baseball, after all!!!!! And it's fun!!!!

See who is 1st place after the Twins play the next 30 out of 45 games on the road...:rolleyes1

Yeah I agree, it's going to be a tough schedule and the Sox are the team to beat - that's for sure. It's going to be fun! Ya gotta love it!!! (Well, if you're a baseball fan!);)

Happy planning,

Thank you for the info :)
DS loves fruit - all types of berries are his favorite, but he will definitely go for a banana (or two!) as well. While he is 2-years old, he still eats Gerber oatmeal many a mornings for breakfast, if you can imagine. He just loves it!:confused3 Depending on the day, he will eat a plain bagel if we are on the go. I think he will love the idea of being able to choose what to have from the display. DD is six-years old, and she is definitely going to love the club level life!

DH and I have been to WDW and the GF several times, but this is our first time in Sugar Loaf.:) We rented a cabana for a few days while we are there. We are hoping to find a nice balance of enjoying the parks in the morning and in the late/afternoons or evenings and a good amount of down time during the day at the GF by the pools. We made quite a few ADR's, as free dining starts a few days after we arrive and we are afraid we will have to wait too long without a reservation. Excited about having dinner in the castle, as DD will love that. We also have an ADR for the Fantasmic Dinner Package at the Hollywood Brown Derby, which is a first for us - any good?

AND NO...I don't "get it". :confused3 I don't think many here do. :confused3
I was just kinda thinking after that "friendly" post on the GF Faq & all maybe the term "friendly" and "fun" have a new meaning?:confused3

My idea of "good fun" is different than yours I guess. I am not following your meaning....sorry.

Happy trails.....:)

Herecomesthesun!
You are going to love Club life is right.:rotfl: Brown Derby is one of our Disney favorites. :goodvibes The cabanas are wonderful too!! Sounds like a fun trip ahead of you - very soon!!!:goodvibes

Channing:)

What a Yankee game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw the highlights tonight and now I'm more nervous than ever for your trip to Minnesota next week! The Yankees always seem to put a "hex"' on the Twins but, hey, we can always hope! See ya next week!

Lives4Disney - I am so glad you said you like the Brown Derby, as it is one of a few new restaurants we are trying this time. The other new "tries" for us are Afternoon Tea at the GF - just the girls :) - and possibly Le Cellier. Standard faves which we will be dining at once again are the Plaza Restaurant (we all love their ice cream sundaes), Narcoossee's, Cinderella's Royal Table, GF Cafe, etc. We tend to eat at the resort quite a bit, as it is just easier with the kids, especially my little man. He still a really good napper, so I am hoping we can all sit down for a nice meal after his nap!

I heard that the bridge to Frontierland is being repaired in late August while we are there and there will be no Spectromagic - is that true??

Ya, we go to WDW for field trips, LOL! Great incentive for DS and me! :thumbsup2
Today we are doing three days worth of work in like and hour and a half, but broken up into two 45 min sessions, DS is eager and very smart and would be board in public school! That explains why some HS kids begin college several years early!

We love the Brown Derby! I have eaten there many times and I like the food! Esp the Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower, YUM-O!

We spent a week at the GF in March and had nice dinners most nights at signature restaurants and my kids were great! The kids did nap religiously! :thumbsup2 My DS5 (at the time) did not nap, but my DD 4, 3, and 2 did! I would go to the pool, get ice cream and play video games at the arcade, or to the MK with DS and do a ride while they (DH too :) ) napped! Such magical mother/son time!

Minniesota - this is a friendly thread - let's keep it that way!:)

Good Morning all!!!

We are getting hammered by rain today, but as DS says, "The grass looks thirsty..." so I guess "its a good thing!" (can't be a Martha wanna be and not use her phrases, right?! :rotfl: I am pulling out that cake pan tomorrow!!)

Kel, I am glad you are feeling better. Thanks for taking the time with me yesterday to go over my 2009 options. DH is actually pleased with the week after Tgiving instead of the beginning of the month. It stinks that DS will have to miss 5 days instead of 2, but early November is one of the worst times of the year for a road constuction boss to be out of town!

AND- by leaving on Sat after Tgiving (11/28) we will be there for my birthday!!!!!!!! So ladies, recommendations for my b day dinner are welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (DS will be coming so V&A is out, but he is quite the "foodie" at WDW so everything else is fair game!!!)

Also, I think we are upgrading to AP's this year as well. Has anyone done this with a package?? I know I have to get the tickets off my room key as not to interupt with the DxDDP etc. but I am not sure if the lobby concierge can upgrade us or if I have to do this at the parks- anyone know for sure?? Also, what it the expiration of the AP. We would be activating ours on 12/7 so is it good till 12/7/09 or 12/6/09?? (Our trip dates in 2009 are 11/28 to 12/6)

Lastly, I am not commenting on the baseball stuff since I agree with everyone else about keeping the thread friendly... I didn't realize that an innocent comment weeks ago (geared towards Kelly and "her" sox BTW) would stir up so much controversy! :confused3
