Happy New Year everyone!

What a sucko day.......KWIM? Kelly I also took a shower and got right back into my jammies

All i have in my brain right now is.....Marcia, Marcia, Marcia

Chan I feel your pain on pups....Our pup never goes in the house and the other morning we woke up to poops and peeps on the dining room carpet.:scared1: I think he was such a nervous wreck from the day/night before when we had that rainstorm that he had an accident. He knew what he did wrong and was all sheepish when we came downstairs..I couldnt stay mad at that face;)

Dawn

Dawn.....Glad you're feeling better :goodvibes. Drugs do wonders, don't they :rotfl: :rotfl:. I hope you got some much needed rest :cloud9:. Yesterday and today were lazy days for us :rolleyes1.....we didn't leave the house at all but it felt good to relax and do nothing and not have to run anywhere ;).

Chan......Ya......no more being lazy tomorrow as I'll be doing laundry and cleaning :headache:. But I guess it was inevitable as it won't get done by itself :rotfl2: :rotfl2:. In a way I'm looking forward to Monday too . It has been nice not having to deal with homework and things like that........but it will be nice to get back to normal and be on a schedule again :rolleyes1. And to have my quiet time in the morning sipping my coffee and chatting with my Dis gals :).

Deb

Deb- you can call me Annie, because I have a theme song:

"Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I'll do it tomorrow, as long as it's not today."

The song goes on to talk about the pile of laundry, the dishes and even the toys on the floor that leave holes in my feet when I step on them. (ok, the song would talk about that stuff, but I am too lazy to write this parody in full. :rotfl: )

I am the master procrastinator!

I hear ya Shel :thumbsup2. I have been so bad in getting things done since the boys started their break . I usually have to have all the beds made first thing in the morning or it feels like the whole house is a mess :headache:. But this last week the only one I've managed to care about was my own :rotfl2:. I don't think either DSs bed has been made the entire 2 weeks they've been off school :scared1:. With DH being off 3 days Christmas week and 2 days this week....it has really thrown me off schedule :rolleyes1. It's going to be a LONG day on Monday getting DH off to work along with DSs off to school and then back into my routine :upsidedow.

My parents invited us to their house tonight for supper. My mom always cooks the greens and beans on New Years Day. I took a picture (I'm going to try to take more pictures this year) of my plate.

Cornbread, Turnip Greens, Black Eyed Peas, Collards, Sweet Potatoes and Pork Chop. Dessert was Chocolate Éclair. I was stuffed, it was very good. Hope everyone has had a great New Year's Day - Lisa.

Lisa- Looks yummy! I made a pork roast, black eyed peas, collards, and cornbread last night! We had the leftovers for lunch today. I just realized you were in NC. I am in SC! I was just talking about how I have no one nearby so I'm glad to know that theres another Carolinian on the thread!:)

Thats called Scarlett talk where I live and sounds familiar!

I love Gone With the Wind!

That looks really yummy Lisa, esp the cornbread! Happy New Year everyone!

Wendy-That was very smart of you to have it 2 days in a row. Maybe that will bring you extra health and wealth this year. Glad to know that you are in SC, I've lived in NC on the same road all of my life. When I got married, my parents asked which tobacco field we wanted to build a house on and here we are today.

I love me some Scarlett too - "after all tomorrow is another day", is one of my favorite lines.

Amy - your wedding is getting so close, it will be here before you know it. Try to enjoy these next few weeks, everything is done now it is just a waiting game.

Amy-my DH just brought me hockey tickets for tomorrow nights game (he gets them free from his work) - but I'm torn on who to pull for. It will the the Carolina Hurricanes (my hometown team) against the St. Louis Blues. Before we had a team here, I pulled for the Blues. We even went out to St. Louis to see them a few times (I had an aunt/uncle out there that we would visit also). When we got Doug Weight a few years ago (just long enough to win the Stanley Cup) I was so excited, but then they could not afford him and he went back to St. Louis. Now I know he plays for the NY Islanders, but I will always remember him from St. Louis. Anyway, I saw that you were from Missouri and thought I'd tell you my ordeal for tomorrow night. I think I'll just go and take pictures and be happy for whoever wins - Lisa.

Morning Gals :surfweb:

We haven't done much of anything the last 2 days but I am glad today is Friday and it's the weekend :yay:.

Amy......OMG....only 20 more days :cool1: :cool1:. I bet you're so excited!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: The time will fly by and your wedding will be here before you know it :bride: :groom:. Enjoy these last few weeks as a single woman :dance3:.

Hi to everyone else :wave2:. Have a good day all :)

Deb :flower3:

Morning all...
Well im never up this early unless going to work but my dang dog woke me up:headache: Oh well I need to get back in the early mode for Monday

Off to do lots of errands today.....

Wendy I love Gone with the Wind...I read the book when I was in 5th grade...that many decades ago:rotfl2:

Lisa wow that looks like a plate of good luck ;)

later taters,
dawn

Good morning everyone!!!

I was exhausted yesterday...got ALOT done...here and around the house. The DDs and I started watching Jon and Kate plus 8...love that show, love her; she is so funny and poor Jon just sits there and listens to her. Anyways, I ended up falling asleep...didn't even read when I got into bed...and it was only 10 o'clock. Oh well...up nice and early today...but, I have to work. Hoping to come home early, and take the kiddos to the movies. We were trying to go out the other day and paint pottery...we have...we HAD three places near our house. They have all closed! I was so sad but, then had to scramble for an idea. We ended up at this ice cream place...I know, ice cream in January is such a GREAT idea. We walked in and my first thought was "wow...this place completely reminds me of Beaches and Cream." So, we order our ice cream and sit down. Another woman comes in with her kids and sits at the counter and starts talking to the owner and they're talking all about Disney. So, naturally I say "Disney?!?" The girls are all embarressed and he's a stranger!!! I tell them but, he's talking about Disney...how bad could he be?!?:rotfl: Just kidding...I explained the whole good stranger/bad stranger thing. Anyways, turns out he is leaving next week...a good time, I guess when you're in the ice cream business. He is staying at the BCV...our next destination. Then he tells me his ice cream store is designed around Beaches and Cream. He goes to Disney for vacation but, also to research new ideas. I LOVE meeting Disney people. I told him I'd bring the kids back for more ice cream so, that I could hear all about his trip. Not to worry...he was very gay...just want to clarify that I am not starting a big clandestine thing over Disney and icecream.:rotfl: So, anyways...where was I?!? I think we might try to go to the movies today.

BTW...living with my three girls is like being in the Brady Bunch...constantly feel like I'm listening to "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia...I'd be complete if I had an Alice.
Meatballs...they were fantastic...I didn't put them in the sauce but, instead of breadcrumbs, I added Ritz cracker crumbs...Yummo!!!

Dawn So, glad you're feeling better!!! It's hard not to feel like you're on "catch up" mode when you do start feeling better. I imagine your family kept up with all you do and you just need to step back into your mom role and take over where they left off...right?!?:rotfl:

Channing Yes, losing our dog was very sad...to this day, I still feel like I'm going to turn around and trip over him...or that I'll look out the window and see him laying in the yard...or up on couches.:scared1: He and I were never the best of friends...apparently I am just not a dog lover or he may have been more than I bargained for when we chose to get him. But, the girls loved him; he was such a GREAT dog. I don't know if we'll ever get another...we're considering another cat, at the moment. We also have a bunny...Coconut, we added him in 2005. Then in 2007, we added our cat, Bailey and a hamster. We had a true managerie!!!
Hope your comforter finally dried. You must be busy today getting ready for your sleepover. Good times!!!

Princessrule4 As I sit here eating cookies for breakfast...not quite sure what compelled me to do all this cooking yesterday...I am having motivating thoughts about that Wii. Monday can't come fast enough!!! I'm a little scared to see what my Mii is going to look like. They adjust it's girth by the measurements you give it. My 7yoDD is very skinny...it told her according to her BMI, that she is underweight. Her Mii looks like it has been stretched. She eats plenty and the MD says she's fine. But, she is just so skinny...I wish I had THAT problem. My DH on the other hand does not look overweight but, when he put in his statistics the Wii made him a big round Mii...and called him obese.:rotfl: He is for sure not obese but, I am getting very nervous about my statistics. Maybe I'll just put the rest of these cookies away.:guilty:

Lisa We were there at the same time?!? Did you stay at the GF? Oh, that would have been so nice to meet. Looking forward to hearing some details of your trip. Do you have a TR? I just started mine...maybe you're in some of my pictures...maybe we're in some of yours!

OK ladies, off to work...have a great day!!!

Seriously. Who thinks it is a good idea to stay up until 2am when I have to be up at 7am??? Why do you let me do that Chan? :goodvibes I am waiting for Emily's big girl bed to get here. I figured a new year is a good reason to get a new bed. Plus if I can lay down with her to get her to sleep maybe she will stay out of my bed. (it's a thought, maybe I am nuts!)

20 days AMY?!?!?! WOW, YEAH!!! I am so excited for you. I can't wait to see the TR (I have been quietly following your PJ)

Lcae- I love that you found a disney person at the ice cream shop- and that he is REALLY disney. I have one Disney friend locally and it is so different from regular people. We never run out of things to babble about.

Deb- make a bed? over vacation? don't feel bad. I changed the sheets and piled the blankets back on, that's it. They spend all day making forts out of their whole room. I will clean it all next week. :rolleyes1

Wendy- that's Scarlet talk? Ok, got it! I love Gone with the Wind! I did get up and clean a bit this morning though. I had to. Delivery men and a toy strewn hallway do not go together.:confused3 Darn it!

Dawn- I just keep thinking that Monday morning is going to be painful. Between us being used to sleeping, our kids being used to it and then add in working in a school and all the kids at work being tired and crabby. :scared1: UGH! Not looking forward to Monday.

Lisa that dinner looks good. Not a tradition here, but maybe I will have to start one like it! YUM!!

Ok, I have to get off my butt now :)

Morning All!

Well its still freezing here...hopefully it will begin to warm a little...what I wouldnt give to be sitting at the pool at the GF right about now...:)
I cant remember who posted about being a JJill fan...me too...they are having some great sales going on...

Lisa That dinner looks yummy...is that cornbread made like a pancake? Northern girl here:rotfl: ...I only make corn muffins...

Lcae How nice finding a little touch of Disney close to home...cookies for breakfast...yummmm...I'm eating low cal healthy food:headache:

Dawn glad you are on the mend...:goodvibes

Channing Thanks for the sale info:thumbsup2

More stuff to get done!!! Have a good day everyone and stay warm...except you lucky Carolina girls you already are warm..:)

Amy 20 days!!! We're counting down with you...

Shel......You continue to crack me up :rotfl: :rotfl:. It's 8:30 and both DSs are still sleeping and I have done NOTHING yet this morning except drink coffee and sit at the computer :surfweb:. I was up at 5:15 to get DH up and off to work and I keep telling myself the laundry isn't going anywhere and will still be there in an hour :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

Lcaemom......How neat that you met a Disney person at the ice cream place :goodvibes. Anytime I hear "disney" or see anything that resembles a Mickey head I perk up :rotfl: :rotfl:. My DH and kids think I'm totally nuts but they deal with it since they know there's not a thing they can do to lessen my obsession :lmao:. That's why I'm so glad I found my Gals here........we all understand each other :thumbsup2.

Deb :flower3:

Sheli Is it time to really get out of vacation mode yet!!! I think tomorrow is a fine motto!...Monday will be here soon enough...The only thing I've had to get done is the darn:laundy: because its was taking over the house!!!:rotfl:

Deb You early bird! You and Kelly! :)

Channing I am not familiar with Good Eats...sounds like it would be good to watch...when is it on?? Always on the look out for new ideas...We have our favorites but somtimes I get sick of the same things...

Lcae-yes we did stay at the GF; checked in Sunday, left Saturday. I have been thinking about doing a tr. My DH kept the camera most of the time and took over 2,000 pictures. He loves to hold the camera up in the air at the parks and see what turns out. At the GF we came across several weddings, he kept taking pictures of the ladies - I kept telling him to stop - what am I going to do with those pictures. I thought of doing a tr with mostly pictures, I need to order my photopass than maybe I'll start a report.

Blueskies-yes, my mom makes her cornbread pancake sized. I think my grandmother (her mom) did that also.

Well I need to scan a few old pictures that my mom gave me, then I plan on walking on the treadmill - I hope it still runs :rotfl: . Have a good day everyone - Lisa.

Good Morning everyone! :goodvibes

Sorry I have been MIA but I had good reason...I am still a little sick but slept real good last night! :thumbsup2 I think it ewally helped!

Where do I start??? Well most of you know that I go to bed early....shut up....and well on the night of the 30th I couldnt stop coughing! It was terrible! I talked to Chan until like 1 or something like that! I told my DH that if I didnt stop coughing by 2 I was going to the hospital! Luckily I did fall asleep but it was a terrible night sleep! I had to get up early to go to work and then the dreaded snow came! Most of you know that I was suppose to go to Boston...I hate driving in the snow. My DH decided not to come to Boston with us because he wouldnt get home til like 7 and that was too late. So I decided to pack up the kids and take the train in! :rotfl: Me on a train and better yet the T!!! :rotfl: We did great though! A stress free ride in! I was very proud of myself and someone handed me a pass on the way in so it was FREE!!! :wizard: Love that! It made me think that I made the right decision! We got to the room and the kids met up with my nieces and nephews and went to the pool! They all stayed with the grandparents and my sisters and I went to an unbelievable restaurant for drinks! It is call Sel de Terre...Awesome awesome! I had the most tender, juicy hamburger with foie gras on top! OMG TDF!!! We had oysters on the half shell, fried oysters...and let us not forget the most unbelievable bar tender! It was a great night! :goodvibes Next year we want to go to NYC! We will see! Yesterday was a lazy day and we packed up and came home! I was able to go out to eat with my DH alone! My kids were at my sisters... Came home and I went to bed after the kids! Then I was woken up at 9:30 :rolleyes1 but was able to go right back to sleep and the next thing I knew it was 8:30! I never sleep that late! :woohoo: I started to organize downstairs and I want to keep going but was thinking of you all....

Lcae...you are probably like who is this girl!!! :rotfl: So hi!

Dawny...I am glad the meds are helping! Mine are in slow motion and it didnt help that I forgot my meds at home!

Chan thanks for the talk the other night!

I can not believe we are a little over a month!!! :woohoo: It cant come soon enough!!! Is it too early to pack??? :rolleyes1

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! I have to go back and read some more because I think I missed something about a meet???
