Good Morning Gals :coffee:

Mare.......I'm disappointed about that 1900 Park Fare review :sad2:. We've only eaten there once and it was quite some time ago . I had a dinner and a breakfast planned for our trip in June too :rolleyes2. That's all I need is to take my family who's never been before and give them mediocre to terrible food :scared:. MickeyNicki's review made it sound like the prime rib was good.....but everything else not so much :headache:. Thanks for the heads up.....I'll have to keep an eye on the dining reviews :scratchin.

I hope everyone has a good day :flower3:. I have a few errands to run later but atleast it's going to be sunny and a high of 35 ::yes::. Everything will melt today and tomorrow and then any water left standing will freeze on Saturday when the temps drop to 13 :scared1: :scared1:. We just can't win this winter :sad2:.

Deb :)

Morning! :goodvibes

I have like 2 min so this will be quick!

Mare I did not like much of the food at 1900. I pretty much ate nothing but prime rib and strawberry soup. It is SO worth it to have fun with the step sisters. I will say that I am not a buffet fan at all (besides breakfast) I have never been to a good dinner buffet IMO at Disney. I actually left not hardly eating much and went to the MK and had Figaro Fries (when they made them the old way).

Mandy: I agree! Dinner buffets are usually not good in WDW we always go for the character interaction. But MickeyNicki also gave the breakfast a bad review (she made comments in this review, I didn't read her whole breakfast review itself). I guess I'm more concerned with breakfast since I'm only going there for convenience. I'd personally rather dine at GF Cafe for breakfast but if my guys know there's a character meal around, they'd prefer the characters. So now I'm trying to rearrange things so we dine here once for breakfast and once for dinner. We'll give each meal a try. I just don't want to do either one twice and regret it.

Deb: I've always heard such wonderful things about 1900 Park Fare. I'm hoping this was really just an off night. But I did read a review where someone dined very late 9:00 ADR and the food was horrible. They just blamed it on the late seating...

If anyone wants to read a really fun TR about the GF, this is hysterical! This is Jaime from IL she stayed at the GF in Sept with her sister and 2 of their life-long friends. They did everything! Spa, tea, parasailing, etc... If you have time to kill and wanna read a fun report I highly recommend it! She also wrote the above 1900 Pare Fare review on her recent Dec trip with her daughter and daughter's friends.

Deb: Have you considered doing the Grand Gathering Breakfast at Tony's Town Square? It sounds cute. I believe there's characters and it's only for the Grand Gathering families. 1TS meal.

Have three loads of laundry I need to throw in the machines! Ugh! :sad2:

good morning I am home from running some errands. I went and got my new sticker this morning and gas for the wagon. Shawn did stay home and I am on the lap top in the dining room since Chris is HOGGING my office.

ugh....
I am going to try and set up my emails to my lap top today as this is going to be a pain and I know it.

Mare......I'm thinking I may stick with 1900 PF in June because it's been a long time since we've done a dinner there (and never have done breakfast :rolleyes1). The characters were Winnie the Pooh and Tigger when we dined there. I hope MickeyNicki's experience was just an off night :confused3. I have the breakfast planned for our departure day so we don't have to venture out anywhere......and as soon as we're done, we check out and we're on our way ;). We don't usually eat TS in the parks, but this time especially I'm trying to stick with the resorts since I'm not sure if my parents will be doing the parks much.....and I don't want them to have to pay park admission just to eat at one of the restaurants . We have only had one bad meal at Disney in all the years we've been going.....so it's kind of sad to read all these horrible reviews people are posting :sad2:. I just hope 1900 doesn't take prime rib off their menu before we're there :rolleyes2.

Kelly.....I can't believe you have been out and back already :faint:. I'm still having my coffee and just thinking about where I have to go today while watching the time tick away :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Deb :scratchin

Deb: Traci just left a comment on Nicki's thread that she too didn't like the food at 1900 Park Fare! Ugh! :sad2: I hope the Prime Rib stays on the menu too as that's the only safe option! I just booked Chef Mickey's for breakfast, so now we have that twice. I needed something convenient for the morning I'm going to the spa. DH said he'd rather hangout at the CR arcade with the boys than by the GF pool. He can't handle the pool alone with both boys (but how come I can:rolleyes: ??!!) So Chef Mickey it is :thumbsup2 We have an 8am ADR then I can leave them at the arcade and head to the GF Spa. Everyones happy :goodvibes

Last time I had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare was 4 years ago. I believe it's changed since then. They didn't have the chef making omletes back then. I remember the characters were Mary Poppins and Bert in the lobby and Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger inside the restaurant. We enjoyed it. We did the same thing, it was our last morning. We dined there then left for the airport. I like a character meal to end the trip :thumbsup2

Let's hope all these negative comments make their way to the head chef and they get their act together by June!!! :rotfl:

Good Morning Everyone!

Mandy So gald to hear that there will be a Night at the Museum 2...looking foward to seeing it too...

Mare You're Welcome:goodvibes Glad you were able to get the tickets...We really enjoyed the play...I'm sure you will too...

Dawn Sorry to hear about your DH knee...hope it will be able to mend on its own...I think that I'm going to have to stick with Blue.. being another Deb things could get very confusing around here..thanks for another good recipe...I think I'm gonna try it today....

I am always worried about food being good at different places...which is why I like to stick with what I know I like...We have eaten at 1900 PF for breakfast only and found it to be good...I agree with Mandy if your with little ones its really all about the good character interaction...The dinner looks like alot of fun....for those of us with bigger kids the food is more important!!!:rotfl: I enjoy reading all the dining reviews too...but sometimes they can get me wondering...I know I'll be changing our ADR list up until that 90 day mark!!

morning. :wave2: I am all excited.....i was watching GMA in my sleep and they announced HUGH JACKMAN will be hosting the Oscars...omg...that guy is GORGEOUS!!!!:goodvibes

Good Morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been MIA since I got that "The Other Boleyn Girl" book. I am addicted to it!!!!!! It is quite different than the movie (better)

hey ladies, you have been chatty! This phone loads too slow to read everything so I'll have a lot to catch up on when we get back.
we had a nice flight, cowds are low, weather is chilly, hoping for a warm-up tomorrow!
we got a great upgrade to one of the garden suites at BWI! I love this room! I almost cried when they told us, as I wanted to book this but couldn't justify the cost and had promised myself "someday" as a conselation! I will take lots of pics; the carpets are nice, lol
doing the kttk tour this morning, then ak. wedding is tomorrow! I can't believe it's almost here!
have a great day everyone!

What an AWESOME upgrade!!!!!!! Congratulations on your special day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was ticked! I cant stand what Bobs team did to Damien! :sad2: Joelle has a serious mental problem! I was so hoping she would get booted! Carla would KILL her!

I think it was just gameplay to take advantage of a stronger player (Damien) on a bad week. She normally puts up such low numbers anyway, that they probably figure they can boot her next week. Besides, Bob always plays mind games with his team and makes them vote in blocks. As much as they hate Joelle, he would never tell his team to vote for someone on his team, KWIM?

Blue here ya go.... (PS everytime I call you Blue I think of the old man on Old School...so I have to know your name)
[/FONT]

"Blue's my boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :rotfl: I love that movie!!!

ugh Rush limbaugh today said he hopes Obama fails, I find that very sad. Its like wanting the country to fail. You dont have to like Obama or liberalism for that matter for if Obama fails we all do at this point.

OK, you know I normally stay out of politics on the Dis. I don't always agree with what Rush has to say. I also have not yet heard what he said. HOWEVER, for everyone who is so OUTRAGED by this, it is simply turnabout. For all who said George Bush would never be THEIR president, how they were moving to Canada if he won, they would never support him- blah, blah, blah. It never ceases to amaze me how people could say the meanest things about Bush (say what you want about his policies, but leave the person alone) but now someone speaks up against the Messiah and it is WWIII :sad2: I doubt that many would be this upset if McCain won and a liberal host said the same thing.

For me if McCain won I wouldnt be happy at all but at this point with all problems we have its a luxury we dont have. If McCain had won and were to fail it would effect me and my family and future so I wouldnt want that. I didnt like Bush or the job he did but maybe if all these politicans did there jobs we wouldnt he in such a mess. Rush said this on FOX with Hannity.
I think its sad....

My point is that for the past few years, everyone wanted Bush to fail. And when things went south in the economy it became his mess (not Wall Street's, not Congress's, but his). So be it, he is the president, so as the leader it becomes his fault. Finally the media and the Bush haters got the failure that everyone so desperately wanted. But no one cared, since it was Bush. I think it is a shame that Rush would say he hopes the new President fails (that is the kind of trash I have come to expect from Ann Coulter). But the outrage is over the fact that it was Rush who said it. No one gave a crap when everyone on MS/NBC, Air America, The Huffington Post and the rest said the same thing about Bush...

It is sad....a big part of Obama's message is to UNITE our country....everybody. That's what we need. Rush needs a big old HUG. :grouphug: :rotfl: He reminds me of a bratty chubby kid that has been bullied his whole life and now he is FIGHTING back.:rotfl2:

I always went to 1900 for the characters....I HATE prime rib....(odd I know..i hate fatty meat) That one restaurant is where we've always been made to wait at least 45 min to be seated. They run SLlllooooooow....I don't think there is much good food left at WDW anyway. YOu have to kinda pick and choose no matter where you go. JMO!

GF GAL checking in TWO WEEKS at 3 pm.:)

Chan, you hit the nail right on the head with Rush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry, everyone will get over it soon. The Bush Lovers were just horrified at the Bush Haters so they see this as their opportunity to treat O as B was treated. Most of us Republicans want him to succeed for the very reason that Kel stated, it affects all of us. Just as there are far left loons, there are far right ones too.

The Obama love fest is just getting a little old. Let's just let the man be (no more reports on what he ate for breakfast and what time he went to bed and where he gets his haircut etc.) and let him govern. And once he actually does something, the country will unite again.

All this political talk and I forgot to comment on 1900 PF! :goodvibes

Here's the thing about buffets (whether they are at WDW or not)- you should never go to them for the food. It just isn't possible to mass produce that much food to be served at once and expect it to be gourmet. At WDW you go for the characters, and only the characters. If the food happens to be edible, then you got a bonus!! :rotfl:

And ITA about not much good food left at WDW :sad2: Back in the 90's dining was such a big part of the trip for us since the food was so good. I don't know if the mainstreaming of the DDP is to blame, or the cost of food vs. profitability for the restaurants or what. But it is a shame.

You and your tag lines! :rotfl2:

I remember last year when there were a lot of bad reviews about 1900 Park Fare you went and loved it. DS4 is dying to see Cinderella with her Prince. He's always looking for the Prince so we have to go just to see this Prince. And I really want to see those step sisters! But I'm worried about the cr@ppy food. DH will not be happy. I'm really torn if we should do this for DS4 or skip it and go to Whispering Canyon Cafe for DH so he can get his skillet meal  Do I please the husband or the kids???? The husband will act like a kid if the food is horrible! :rotfl:

Hey, anyone know if you can see the animals from Boma?? That would be good for the kids if they could watch the animals while they eat. I'm thinking maybe of adding Boma to my list. Never been to AKL.

I think I'm going to do the laundry this evening and just head to the grocery store. The fridge is bare and we are out of bread. DS1 can live on grilled cheese for lunch! :rotfl2:

Mare......UGH!!! is right :sad2:. I'll have to check out Traci's comments. I hear ya about the prime rib being a safe point......DH, DS and my brother could sit and fill up on that without anything else on their plate :rotfl: :rotfl:. I like prime rib but I need some other things to go along with it ::yes::. We're giving Chef Mickey's a break this trip :sad1:. We've done a breakfast and dinner since we've been going......but we decided to give it a rest this time. We've never had a bad experience in all the times we've gone.....I just think we're burned out on it :faint:. And I can't go there without getting the pics :rolleyes2........so I have 7 years of pics from CM's for BOTH meals each time :rotfl2:.

Chan.....I love your little sayings :goodvibes. You crack me up :rotfl: :rotfl:. You'd never make it with us on vacation as prime rib is a major deal for DS and DH.......and buffets are ALWAYS better because they can gorge themselves and then complain afterwards how they shouldn't have gone back for more that 4th and 5th time :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

Kristin.....Glad you popped in :wave2:. I hope you're enjoying your book :thumbsup2.

I'm off to run some errands.......catch you gals later :).

Deb :upsidedow

I always thought as a person GW was very likable. :goodvibes He seemed like a good sincere guy. I really think so..and I know others will think I am wacked for thinking that...but that's always the impression I got. I think he had some bad peeps around him giving him poor advice. He did the best he knew how....He can't be held responsible for this mess alone...and I wouldn't be one to dump that on him.:rotfl: I always had hopes they'd straighten it out...and they might have if given time. Whatever....it will be worked out. :thumbsup2

I like Obama's message and his spirit and I think most of the country feels HOPEFUL for the first time in a long time - that's why the love fest...it might be misplaced hope...but at least there is hope and excitement. I am open...lets see what happens.....;)

I still have the picture in my head of how OLD and SAD GW looked on Inauguration Day.

Chan
GF GAL that won't be huggin' Rush any time soon.:rotfl:

Totally agree.:thumbsup2 The reason I loved 1900 was I expected to hate it.:rotfl: There was some decent food there...some stir fry stuff...pasta...salads....plus i was blown away by how GREAT the Step Sisters and Step Mother were!! omg...they were a riot.

Mare
...if it's yucky..money talks...just speak to a manager and youll get a discount.:rotfl: That might make the DH feel better.

Deb.
..I know...I get squirmy with prime rib...plus the fact that I have to have my meat way over cooked...I would like the crunch outside ends..that would be good.

Chan
GF GAL..NOT a Rush hugger:p

Channing I was watching the show Balancing Act yesterday and they were talking about menopause....a product they were talking about is called Me Again...looks interesting natural ingredients...they have a website too..

Imagine if men had to deal with hot flashes!!!:rotfl:

I now have the Cape May breakfast buffet on my list...we used to love Chef Mickeys we have moved past all of that singing and napkin swinging!!! I thought we have to have one character breakfast on the list....no character dinners though...DH would be complaining big time....
