Good Evening Peeps...


Im on hold right now with SW..they are redoing some of my tickets...

I went to a job fair tonight for teachers for Naperville SD 203....omg I was SO NERVOUS! I think I did pretty good for my first time but I flubbed one question..... Hopefully I still get a good report and get in for an interview.

DH's knee is still sore and he will be off for a week...surgery who knows??? Can I get a discount on wheelchairs at Disney in March My mom says we are all getting scooters and racing around the park

Mare....good ideas on the goodies!

Kristin...what about if Mickey left prizes at the door???? That would be kinda fun (did anyone say that already?? if so sorry!)

OK..just one quick check in before bed!

My parents did make it in Deb. ...they called me from Vegas before they got on their plane to come to Chicago. They had heard awful weather predictions and were concerned....but we got NADA! So it was fine....they had to drive out to Freeport...then they come here Thursday and leave for AZ Friday. They are not going to be happy with the temps...but at least no blizzard to delay their arrival....then they go back to their golf course and all is well.

That's great Siobhan and Lceamom had a nice visit! Kelly and Sheli you go too next time!

DAWN! Ok..I admit I love those too...dipped in ranch...but they do not like me..nothing from there does. Mega Zantac needed.... What is SWA doing??? LOL your family on scooters!!! Talking on the cell phones to eachtohter as you book around the parks! And you have to eat icecream cones and Dolewhips while you cruise around too!! That sounds like fun!!! Relaxing haha.....making peeps mad....and we know who they are. LOL

I am off to bed...I was up til 1:30 last night messing with Facebook! I hate it...but once I get myself started I can't stop. SOunds familiar....

YES it was good!!!!! And I was so excited about the visually impaired guy with the white cane!! Jojo was sooo stoked to see that....and she ran upstairs to tell lucy (who was already cashed for the night) about it and how he did good! It was cute how excited Jo got to see somebody with a white cane and proud for Lucy. They can be nice to each other sometimes.

So...what do you mean you flubbed a question?!!? What did they ask ya? I am sure you did great!

I am up and ds9 read for the bus. I already folded some laundry and emptied the dishwasher. It is FREEZING here today, and tomorrow is sup to be worse.
I got my new crocs yesterday and never opened them! LOL I am gonna try them on, I cant wait.

Morning everyone. I fixed the cheesecake last night and it looks so good - sorry about your mess Channing with yours. I had it baking while I watched the Biggest Loser, I love that show too Kristin. Me and cousin usually watch it, then call each other the next day and discuss how much weight everyone lost and who looks the best - we are so silly.

Princess-we (Raleigh) are going through some cold weather the next few days. Today is 43 high, 26 low; Friday a huge cold front comes in with 27 high, 11 low. There is no rain, so no chance of snow, but we don't usually get these kinds of temps.

Spring is coming up sometime - right? Have a good day - Lisa.

Good Morning everyone! Oh dear...I woke up at 4:10 and was very queezey...I only threw up a bit but my stomach was not good and in fact not great now! I am not overly sick but just not right.... I cant get that stomach bug today...I have a full day at work! Wish me luck!

Morning All


We didn't have blizzard conditions yesterday but it did start snowing again last night and we ended up with another couple of inches by this morning....and it's still snowing . It's supposed to taper off by this afternoon but temps are to be VERY COLD . I hope everyone is making it ok with this weather .


Siobhan.....Sorry about your queeziness this morning .....I hope you feel better as the day goes on .


Dawn......I hope DH's knee heals without surgery . Too funny about getting the scooters and zipping around Disney . Spring break is not too far off.......you'll find yourself there before you know it .

Morning!

I was on the phone last night at 9:30 pm for 25 minutes with WDW-DINE!!! The recording said I had a 3 minute wait - yeah right! I had to change our CM breakfast and I canceled the dinner. They screwed up both of the ADRs that thankfully I was cancelling! They had the dates and times WRONG for both of them!! I'm wondering how secure this new system is?? She also mentioned that I had canceled a trip in Nov, I said no we went. She said I had a lot of cancelations under my name - they never delete in the system! I think I'm just going to use my cell number and NOT my home number for this trip to avoid them telling me "oh you have LOTS of cancelations" So I change my mind a lot! I think they changed to the 90 day ADRs because of me!!!

I made an ADR for T-Rex with no problem. We're going to go for dinner on our last night. DH and DS4 pasted by it in Nov and said it looks really cool.

GF Gals: Would you mind finding out while you're there if the Birthday Fun Card can be used in the GF shops - maybe I'll buy myself the GF Bathrobe, that's a nice treat

I woke up at 4am to shut the bedroom window. It was open just a crack but my nose was FREEZING! The weather got cold so fast. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse!

I'm off to organize my DVDs. My new organizer arrived yesterday.

Lisa, Did your cheesecake turn out yummy? I LOVE that but I always stay away from it...i just know it's bad for me ....when we are in WDW my son does the cheesecake in EVERY restaurant. They have some yummy cheesecake in WDW. I have had bites.

I hate calling Disney. They are annoying. They never have anything correct...how do you think we wound up with JOSE? He was JOSIE... But they always claimed I had a 4th kid named JOSE. Oh ya...I have found they keep track of stuff now.....wrong or right - and they NEVER change it. No matter what that each time I call I explain it's a DAUGHTER NAMED JOSEPHINE..... And...same with the ADRs. I think they are a big part of the problem of peeps not getting what they want. Their system is so screwy.

Mare...I am bringing my laptop and I think Sheli is too....we will check in...just remind us! We'll find out. Those GF robes look nice and plushy.

Mare......I've never had any problems with ADRs when cancelling/changing but I have read ALOT of horror stories about peeps finding out their ressies were cancelled when they never even messed with changing them . I'm glad you were able to get T-Rex without any problems . I always confirm my ADRs a day or 2 before we leave and have never had anything funky happen but I feel for those who do because that would be horrible to find out right before you leave that your dining ressies were messed up ....or worse yet.....GONE . I think getting the GF bathrobe would be a great way to use the Fun Card . That's another reason why I wish we were going over our anniversary this year because DH's bday is that same day (yes...we got married on his bday ) and I know he would want me to use the gift card .


Chan.......DH LOVES cheesecake and orders that anytime we get dessert anywhere . Maggiano's has THE BEST cheesecake . It is soooo creamy and VERY DELISH . All non-fattening of course . I keep telling DH I'm going to order one for Christmas one of these years......as soon as I can bring myself to spend the $55 for it .....YES.....Maggiano's wants FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS for a whole cheesecake . One of these times I'll splurge.....just haven't gotten that crazy yet . And I priced them a couple of years ago....so they may have gone up since then .

Deb: This is the first time they've ever messed up an ADR, two no less. So I'm blameing the system update. They are so lucky that I was canceling the messed up ones or I would have been PISSED! I've heard horror stories too but spoke with WDW-DINE about it and they say they are trying to stop people from double booking. When you double book popular restaurants, if they catch it, they will wipe out all your ADRs! I was a nervous wreak in Nov with all our ADRs on the DxDDP.

I just hate that the old past used ADRs remain in the system. For what reason? I always double check - too frequently! And when I call they run my phone number so every ADR I ever made comes up.

Chan: Any other ideas for something "special" from the GF? I thought the bathrobe would be nice. But I'm open to other ideas?

Ooh I love cheesecake! Have you guys tried Juniors Cheesecake? It's so good!

Morning all

It is amazing how a few days on antibiotics can just make you feel 100% better!

Kelly~ I was inspired and folded a load, washed a load, and put away last nights dishes and washed the breakfast dishes all between taking DS to school and DD to school!

OH AND I WAS SO GOOD THIS MORNING SO I AM GONNA BRAG! DH is in a meeting so i turn to my invisible friends. After taking DD to school I got in line at McD's for breakfast and had this dialog in my head.... "A bacon egg and cheese sounds so good right now i cant wait!..... no that is not what you need...... well i will walk later..... no you wont...... yeah I wont, I don't have time to walk today......... OK nothing taste as good as thin feels GO HOME! " And i got out of line!

I swear I am not crazy! I am just so proud I resisted my addiction to McD's BEC biscuits.

Know what else i love???? CHEESECAKE! So I am ignoring post made about cheesecake! LOL!

OK off to listen to the podcast while I clean...... it sounds like a bad one today since I have no interest in marathons

Mandy: I LOVE Egg McMuffins!! I now make a WW version every morning! One lite multigrain English Muffin, FF Cheese, Egg, 1 Morning Star Sausage - 5pts YUM!

WW also has yummy (okay satisfying) cheesecakes in the freezer section.

I used to never buy myself treats, now I have to. It's the only way I stay on track. I'm also addicted to Hostess Coffee Cakes! 1pt a package

The weather outside is frightening, but the fire is so delightful.... (OK, no fire and please NO MORE SNOW!!!!) I hope it stops soon cuz I want to snowblow the driveway before the artic windchills set in

Who mentioned cheesecake?! I LOVE CHEESECAKE! I make a killer NY style one every year at Christmastime. I keep it plain and bring cherry, strawberry and blueberry topping so everyone can pick their own There definitely is an art to making it (especially to get it not to crack ) I think a lot of it depends on the humidity in the house, overmixing or undermixing the batter etc.

Mare- that stinks about the ADR's. We only had a problem once and that was back in August 2007. We had an early ADR at Kona for dinner before the PPP and they couldn't find it. It got made under the wrong date (before we arrived ) but they were able to seat us without issue. We had TONS of ADR's in December, too, with the DxDDP but they all went fine. I wish June park hours would get released and my 90 day window would get here already so I can make the rest of my ADR's (I already have CRT, Chef Mickey and T-Rex). That is odd that they keep all the ADR's in the system, even the cancelled ones, after a trip. Why would they need that info later?

The soft teeth discussion made me chuckle. I had bad teeth when I was a kid so my pediatiric dentist put sealants on my molars when I was 9. 25 years later those sealants are still perfect and my dentist laughs about it all the time (They don't make stuff like they used too! and the like) I haven't had a cavity since I got those

Of to see what else is new here on the boards while I wait for the snow to stop...

Rumor is that park and EMH will be released at the 90 day window which is a little too late for me. I have everything set, I think we'll just have to see where the days fall and if it works out, it does, if it doesn't - oh well..

I have CRT, CM and T-Rex too.

I'm going to make all the ADRs under DH's cell number, I've never used that number before. It will just be easier when I call to confirm everything. They'll have just this trip on the screen, not every ADR I made in the last 7 years under my home number!

I have got to get off this computer and go throw some laundry in.

Kristen should you hear any new tidbits about the Birthday Fun Card, please let me know. Sounds like now it doesn't expire. Something to do with being against the law to put an expiration date on a gift card

Kristin-you are good if you get your cheesecake not to crack. Mine always cracks just a little in the center while it is cooling. We keep our house pretty cool, so maybe I need to turn the heat up some as it is cooling. It makes me so mad. Usually I'm the one cutting it, so I hurry up and cut on the crack part before anyone notices it.

Lisa- this is what I do to cool it.

Open the oven door the whole way, but let the cheesecake sit in there for 30 minutes. Then move it to the counter for a few hours before putting in the fridge.

In all honesty, I think the cooling has little to do with the cracking. I think it has more to do with the mixing. It is actually easy to overbeat the batter, but if the cream cheese truly is room temp (as in it has been sitting on the counter for hours) you don't need to mix it as long. Also, you need to turn the oven off as soon as the center is set (it will still have a little jiggle) I watch mine like a hawk at the end.

The Chefs on food network swear by cooking it in a waterbath, but I never have and mine rarely cracks anymore
