BlueSKies......Sorry you caught the stomach flu . I hope you feel better soon . DS just got over that but thank goodness it was only for one night . He stayed home from school Thursday but went back yesterday and is out riding snowmobiles with DH today . Boys and their toys :rolleyes1.

Maxie.....I try to stay out of Target so I don't spend so much because I can NEVER go in there and buy JUST what I need........I always seem to throw alot more into the cart than what's on my list :rotfl: :rotfl:. There's always that little voice inside that says "Oh ya....I forgot about that....I could really use that"....and in the cart it goes :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

Chan......I'm glad the girls had a great time last night :goodvibes. I'm sure Jojo had a blast :yay:. It is STILL snowing here :scared1:. DH and DS plowed the driveway and it's totally covered again :headache:.....doesn't even look like it's been plowed . I'm thinking it's going to be an ALL DAY snow.........and maybe even continuing ALL NIGHT :scared:.

Hope everyone is having a great day :flower3:.

Deb :)

Hi everyone. I'm enjoying an afternoon alone. DH took the boys to a hobby store for some trains then out to lunch! :yay: Mommy time!:woohoo:

I tried to connect the Wii Fit but I have no idea how to even get the tv to the video channel! :headache: I did unpack it all, so it's ready to try out when DH gets home.

So DS4 now wants a birthday party. I spent a good portion of my morning searching for inexpensive party places (in NYC that's a joke! :sad2:) I finally remembered a little craft shop we went to a party a few years ago. Pizza cake and crafts all included for the price of a spa day :thumbsup2 So I booked it. The Saturday of Superbowl - that's like a holiday weekend to some people :rotfl2: It should be fun and I'm happy I don't have to do anything for it. They even said I could bring wine and a cheese platters for the adults. ;)

Laecmom: I've ordered things from laughingplace.com. Someone actually goes into WDW gift shops to purchase the items that's why there's a mark up, like a service fee. Its great when you forgot something and really want it from there. They do offer sales on some items.

I'm on my third dishwasher in 7 years! They just don't last for me. I think I use it too often.

Blue: Sorry to hear you're sick. Hope you're feeling much better today.

Mandy: Sorry to hear your little one has an ear infection. My DS1 gets them often. He holds his head and tugs his ear too. Thankfully the meds kick in quick. :thumbsup2

Chan: Sounds like Jojo had a fun party. Hope you can rest and recooperate this afternoon.

Deb: GF with your family sounds amazing. That is going to be so fun seeing disney thru their eyes! :cool2:

I cannot walk out of Target less than $100 either!

Lisa: I can't wait to hear about V&A! It's an amazing dining experience!

Mare

DH asked me this morning if I wanted to go with him to the mall (the man hates the mall). He has been reading about the new Mac computers and wanted to go to the Apple store. That place was crazy, I could not work there, people everywhere touching everything. My dh looked and played for over an hour. It was about 2:30 and I asked him about getting lunch, he said "no, lets go home and have a chicken salad sandwich". Yuck, all of those places and he wanted a sandwich, so we came home.

I'm sorry that everyone is still getting snow. Hopefully it will end soon and you can get out. Hope everyone feels better soon and has a good evening - Lisa.

Morning All :goodvibes

Boy it's been quiet around here.....everybody must be busy.....not too much chatting going on :rolleyes1. DH and DS headed to South Bend/Niles, MI to go snowmobiling.....I guess out that way they got 8-10 inches of snow :scared1:. Better there than here :rotfl: :rotfl:.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :). Not much going on here today for me other than relaxing and watching football :happytv:.

Mare.....YES.....I am very excited about our June trip with my family :cool1: :cool1:. My brother and his girlfriend went to Disney 2 years ago but they didn't stay on property as they rented a condo . But they had a great time doing all the parks and trying some of the restaurants. But my brother has always said if he stayed on property, he'd love to stay at the GF.....nothing like picking the top place for a first time stay :rotfl: :rotfl:. So I know everybody is going to have a BLAST :dance3:. Other than everybody looking at the allears website and giving their suggestions on restaurants (we're getting the DDP)......they are leaving everything up to me :goodvibes. I'm already planning on getting cabanas for one or two days :cloud9:. I'm also thinking of things I can order as surprises for all of them when we arrive.......I just want them to have the BEST experience when we go because me, DH, and the boys just love it :yay:. Plus the nice thing is we can do as little or as much as we want....that's what's so great about Disney :thumbsup2. I'm getting excited now just thinking about it :rotfl2:.

Have a good day all :flower3:.

Deb :yay:

wow i had to catch up on 30+ pages took me 3 hours including getting breakfast for the kids and stuff...

i multiqouted a bunch if stuff but not all of it showed up :confused3

Marvel - Glad you are having fun and enjoying FOTL! Have you done Men In Black with your older ones? My kids loved that too!
Have you heard when the new roller coaster is supposed to open? We were sent an online survey about what kind of music genres/ songs should be played while you are riding it. Supposedly, each rider can customize their ride by picking out a song/songs to be played. ( kind of like RnR, but each person picks it for themselves) Sounded cool but some of the song choices they gave us were hilarious! Everything from Country to metal to songs we had never heard of!

Men in black was good. but you cant bring anything in with you...after we had walked through i had to walk back out because they wont let you take any bag or camera on the ride. They provide lockers outside the ride but i just went a bit further and let grandma hold it.
We rode this ride a few times and each time we walked out through the gift shop we could smell urine. i thought at first it was a smelly person but it happened over the 4 days and then on the last day i noticed the bathrooms were located right next to the shop...i think there is a air vent problem there.

The new roller coaster at US is set for the spring. i have some pictures of the track ...looks pretty cool!

My dog almost never has accidents and rings a bell to go out but every once in a great while if its raining, he'll have an accident because he doesn't want to get rained on!

we all have the primadonna dogs i guess...my dog wont go out in the rain unless we go out with her.

:scared1:

I completely forgot about the Loews hotels being dog friendly. We did not see any dogs at the Hard Rock but I remember seeing a few in the lobby at Portofino. I also remember them telling me that the dog friendly rooms were all on the first floor and we had asked for upper floors for both Portofino and Hard Rock.
I wonder if you got an Adult Only room?

OMG - we went through the mini bar because we got something for free since we are Loews First members. I don't remember seeing that kit but mabye ours had been used and not replaced! EEWW! I would have died if my kids had found that! Didn't know that about the movies....:scared1: Yikes!

We thought the hotel was very kid friendly and there were tons of kids when we were there 2 years ago. It was August so mabye thats more of a family time to go. :confused3 Mabye it is more of an Adult hotel over New Years Eve?!? I would've been weirded out by all of that, too! Sorry and I hope you all atill had a good time!

i think the hotel is kid friendly..there was a lot of stuff for them to do around the pool and we saw plenty of kids too. I was just thrown off by the dogs. You couldnt have had a better location (except for the dogs) because like i said from my door to the entrance of universal was a 10 minute walk.
Mrs M found the movies and the titles and descriptions were bad. one i remember was 3 words..all began with "S" the three words were ... ummm
i cant remember one now but 2 of them were swallow and suck.

What I meant was the Hard Rock in Vegas is known for being wild and crazy. You'd think that the Orlando HRH would be more family oriented being in a theme park. But it doesn't sound like it is.
We didn't get that Disney-family feeling from them at all. Mare

it really is nothing like Disney..from check in to check out..totally different...and im sure if was between the ages of 15 and 25 i would love the party atmosphere but its not for me ...
my wife made fun of me for saying this next part, and i know its the HARD ROCK hotel but....they never stop playing music...never!! and its 'too darn loud' to quote Huey Lewis.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Wendy
we stayed at PBH when we did Universal. It was OK. I missed not having a balcony....do any of those hotels have balconies?
Chan

I saw no balconies but did see some doors on first floor rooms at portofino

We did stay at PBH...I think it was 2 or 3 yrs ago during spring break in March. It was great hving the front of the line but the parks didn't thrill me at all. The hotel was very pretty but I hate Italian....Chan

You Hate italians? What ...are you talkin' to me? i can't believe it i ....What? oh Italian not italians....forget i said anything :)

Marvel: How was NYE at the HRH and City Walk???

Mare

Im not embarrassed to say we were asleep before 11 but did wake up around an hour after midnight. Walked through citywalk once...didnt stop..

We're expecting 3-6 inches here starting tomorrow morning. Marvel must be thrilled!:rolleyes1 Mare

I knew we wouldnt get 3 to 6...they are never right and always overstate. One guy even said yesterday that we'd have no rainand it would stay all snow... All i have here is an inch of snow and a coating of ice.

Hello, I have been reading this board for a while. My new years resolution was to jump in and start posting. From reading everyones posts we stayed RPC last October and loved it. We are leaving Sunday and staying RPC again. Hopefully the snow we are expecting in New Jersey tomorrow will not affect our Sunday am flight. We were lucky on Monday and received an email with the 40% pincode and were able to save on our trip. That meant we had to book another trip to RPC end of Sept with the pincode.

Hope any snow or ice didnt delay your trip!

Im starting to upload some pics... i dont know how big they will be so here is one of the GF tree

ChristmasDisney2008156.jpg

Welcome Back Marvel :yay:. Thanks for all your reports :thumbsup2. When I told DH about the dog peeing in the hallway at HRH he just looked at me with that "We're not staying there!!!" look :rotfl: :rotfl:. I have to say that that tid bit of information turned me off of wanting to stay there :headache:. I think we'll stick with just the GF in June :rolleyes1. I'm glad you had a wonderful trip :goodvibes. Please share any more pics you have.....I would love to see some more of the GF RPC :).

Deb

ok..thats not too big...

Here is the snow we had when we left NY.

ChristmasDisney2008001.jpg

And here is the view we had when we arrived at Disney

ChristmasDisney2008018.jpg

As it has been for our last 5 trips we were met outside the resort where someone was waiting for us and we were taking right to our room.

How nice it was to be back and how warm it was...that first day was 80 i think...what a treat from NY's cold weather.

ChristmasDisney2008021.jpg

We had the guide for Epcot on our first full day. I took advantage of having her drive us to each park...if only to avoid security...sounds dumb but with kids and 2 strollers..i hate going through those lines..

We entered the park near Nemo
ChristmasDisney2008058.jpg

and once the Soarin line was in sight they let us on nemo. It was nice being the only people on that ride. We enjoyed the exhibits afterwards and finally got to do turtletalk which was better than i thought it would be (which is usually the case, right)

ChristmasDisney2008083.jpg

ChristmasDisney2008084.jpg

Again it was nice to have the guide watch baby M so we could all go on the rides at once. We had early lunch in Italy (that's right Chan, i said Italy!! ;) ) which was part of the candlelight processional...

we walked around to a few countries and saw Santa and Mrs Claus
ChristmasDisney2008099.jpg

ChristmasDisney2008097.jpg

It was much colder today only in the 60s and by the time the CP ended it was too cold so we decided to leave. I was dreading walking all the way back to Nemo but the guide had brought the car to an area behind the American Adventure and we were off.
When we got back to the room our tree was waiting for us.

how do you like that castle in the background?
ChristmasDisney2008124.jpg

Ok i feel like i accomplished something so i better go scrape the ice off the car..Daughter is serving at Church at 12:30 and then im taking them to see Marley and Me.

Have a great day all!

morning all!

It was a rough night....ds is sick with the stomach flu. (Deb is your son better?? How long did it last? You all healthy otherwise?) Once again...I have been blessed...he made it to the bathroom. I just feel horrible for him because it has been nonstop...he just slept in there. I hope I get it soon..(well after Tuesday becasue I get my hair colored:rotfl: ) or NOT AT ALL!! I don't want any of that messing with our trippie.

We were just cashed yesterday. Even Z said WOW THOSE GIRLS ARE CRAZY...lol...they kept him and his friend up all night.:rotfl: :rotfl: NOw those are wild kids. But they are all really good sweet girls...just having a party time. We know how thta goes.;) :goodvibes

Hi ya, Marvel!!!
Welcome back to the chat!!! Hey!! I got something cute and funny in the mail yesterday from L Ricardo!!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: I know somebody MAAAahvelous sent it!! I LOVE it....I laughed out loud. It goes with my Vitavetavegemin. :rotfl: I love a good laugh.:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Did you see MY New Year started with my huge horse peeing on my bed!?!?!!? Speaking of dogs peeing...my perfect precious pup did that to me. I would rather have some stranger dog pee in a hallway.:rotfl:

I LOVE Italian everything but architecture. Sooo fussy and cementy...reminds me of a mortuary. :rotfl:

Where is everybody? :confused3 Aren't you guys snowed in and stuff and needing to chat? I thought you were getting tons of snow up that a ways.

OK...I am awaiting Marvel's photos!! Can't wait to get some floor action.:goodvibes It's going to get my psyched to go in LESS THAN A MONTH!:cool1:

Chan

Deb

haha i had to answer before heading out into the cold....
While we did see a lot of dogs we only saw one pee inside the hotel...but one is enough right? It was a few doors down from our room.

But once i saw that my eyes were looking for stuff and you could easily see many many stains on the hallway carpet...what they were from i dont know but urine was always my first guess.

I have a bunch of pics from there but havent uploaded them yet.
Put it this way...i would go to universal again but not for 4 nights...that is too much... 2 nights is fine and 3 is plenty...and id even stay at the Hard rock again IF it was the only place open... With front of the line and the amazing low crowds i saw there you just dont need so many days there.

morning all!

Im glad you liked it... i love that Lucy exhibit..wait until you see my photos and while we were there Lucy came in and was looking at her exhibit. I got a few photos of her. She sounded pretty good.
I read about your puppy peeing...but all those horse pictures confused me...i guess i have to read more to find out about that.
Oh yeah now that it is on my mind...
i bought Love, Lucy the book she wrote but wasnt published until fter her death. What a great story...i couldnt stop reading it..even brought it to work.. I could see everything so clearly in my mind...she 'spoke' so well, like a friend telling you a story. I loved it!!

Marvel,
I didn't know about that!! Very neat!! I am going to look for it...the book. I bought a huge scrapbook type book with flaps/photos/inserts from that exhibit. That Lucy exhibit was the best part of UO for me. I am a ride wuss. I agree...2 nights is enough because with FOTL you can just zip thru.

Oh...that horse stuff.....just some naughty business Kelly got me roped into. :rotfl:

I can't wait to see more pics. I love the tree with the castle glowing in the background.:) And wow! You guys just saw Turtle Talk for the first time?!!? It is really cute. Sounds like the guide was a good thing for your family.

I am going to look on Amazon for "Love, Lucy".:goodvibes THanks for the FYI.

More pics after church I hope!:)

Chan......I'm so sorry about DS being sick .....and the stomach flu is the worst :scared: I hope it doesn't last long for him and he starts feeling better real soon :flower3:. I was lucky with DS as he only had it that ONE night :rolleyes1. He was up at 1:30....3:30....4:30 and that was it with the vomiting (but that's enough, right ). He then slept until around 9:30-10:00 and ate some toast for breakfast. Then the rest of the afternoon he drank Propel and regular water and didn't eat but a little bit of mac & cheese for dinner and he was fine ;). He headed back to school Friday and has been fine ever since :thumbsup2. None of the rest of us got it....so that was good :goodvibes. I hope it passes quickly for your DS and nobody else comes down with it :sad2:. I can't believe you gals are almost there!!!!!! How many more days is it???? Oh what fun you all will have :cool1: :dance3: :cool1:!!!!

Marvel.......I would do the EXACT SAME THING......I'd be noticing ALL the stains on the carpet after seeing a dog pee in the hallway :rotfl: :rotfl:. It would just gross me out if it was just down the hall from my room :scared1: . I would have HAD to ask to be moved.....I wouldn't have been able to handle that :scared:. I've always seen Universal as just a 2 (maybe 3) day thing....doesn't seem to be too much there to warrant any more than that :confused3. But I can see how FOTL pass would be beneficial ;). We have been to City Walk a few times and that is neat......but other than that and the 2 parks, it's definitely not worth it to stay for an entire week .

Deb :upsidedow

Deb, thanks. It must be something wicked though....he has not had the stomach flu in probably over 5 yrs...at least. He has a stomach of steel...he is the Tobasco king. I brought him some icechips and Coke a couple times and he has kept it down so far. He asked for some soup...so I made him chicken noodle and took everything out so it was just liquid. I think he's sleeping now.

So....what IS City Walk? What is there to DO there?? Is it like DTD?? We never made it over there.

Deb...it's not too late..you could still come! ;) SWA flights are still cheap!

Chan

Hello :flower3:
I am sorry for being the loser poster. I rock at drive-bys though and I lurk like a mad woman.
Brief catch-up why I haven't been around...
After the holidays one of my daughter's friends was in an awful car accident (she cheers with her on the tiny squad). If she survives she will be paralyzed from the neck down. Sadly, she is only 5 years old, and the cutest little thing ever. Her older sister (16, just got her license) was driving and is struggling to cope. Anyway, I left the link for her site. Say a little prayer for Margaret please. I was working last week...okay stalking is more like it...to track down the Jonas Brothers. She is a huge fan. Anyway I managed to find one of their producers who in turn sent the story to their management. I was contacted Friday, and by Saturday they had overnighted Margaret a gift to the hopspital. Inside was an autographed book by all of them, autographed photos for both Margaret and her sister, cds, and Joe's guitar pick. Needless to say her mom called me Saturday and said that M's heartrate jumped when they showed her. I wasn't really a fan of them until now (I'm too old, and my kids are too young) but I have to admit that I am one now.

here is her link:

I see that there is a girls only trip approaching. Tell me, who is going to be attending the festivities??

I hope you are all doing well and having a great start to 2009

Good....I hope he's able to sleep and wakes up feeling tons better :flower3:. My 2 hardly ever get this either....it's usually just head colds/coughing/headaches.....the vomiting is very rare in our house :confused3. But something got DS this time :rolleyes1. But him keeping the icechips and coke down is a good sign :thumbsup2.

So....what IS City Walk? What is there to DO there?? Is it like DTD?? We never made it over there.

City Walk is just a place with shops and restaurants where you can walk around. We've been there a couple of times and have taken the water launch over to the hotels and walked around those as well ;). We went to City Walk the first year we went to Disney as we were offsite and thought the boys were too young for UO/IOA. We actually spent a couple of hours there.....it was fun. Then we went back last March when we were in Orlando (but not at Disney ).....it's just a neat place to walk around for something different :).

Deb...it's not too late..you could still come! ;) SWA flights are still cheap!

You're killing me, Chan :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:. I keep checking those SWA flights......what am I doing to myself :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

OMG Traci how horrible :sad2:. I am sooo sorry to hear this :sad1:. My heart goes out to the little girl as well as her family :grouphug:. An accident that produces those results is horrible for anyone but a 5 year old girl that hasn't even lived yet.....I'm just sick to hear this. Keep us posted on her progress . But WTG to you for doing what you did for her!!!! They say that things like that do wonders for patients who are struggling with their injuries to survive. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family .

Deb

Traci...that is heart breaking. I am so sad to hear that.:sad1: Honestly it's a nightmare of mine. I haven't had Zack drive my girls anywhere yet. I can't imagine what the older sister and her parents are feeling. I will say a prayer for them and for little Margaret. Such a tragedy.:guilty: I hope she pulls through. Miracles happen. That is amazing and so touching what you did for her. Wow. It makes me a fan of the Jonas Brothers, too. :grouphug: Keep us updated. I am so sorry.

Deb, thanks! Thanks for all the info on Citywalk too. We had intentions of going over there, but Jojo was kind of little and as much as she's a total party girl on vacation she is a DUD. She enjoys being in the hotel room and she crashes out early. Her idea of vacation is being planted infront of the tube watching HM all day playing Bratz or Polly POckets. DUring her normal everyday life, she's partying.:rotfl:

I am not in a hurry to return to UO. After Marvel's review it brings back memories. It didn't thrill me. I didn't like the Italian mortuary (PBH) or the rides.

My kids are still sleeping! I am free a little bit longer.

Chan

Drive by- I am cleaning, NOT internetting (yeah right!)

Marvel- Glad you're back- LOVE the pics...SSS movies??? YIKES!!!!:scared1:

Chan- sorry Z is sick. It lasted about 12-18 hrs here...long enough- but not terrible for anyone but me.

Deb- Grab that flight lady! You know you want to!!! :lovestruc

Traci- What an awful thing, I am so sorry that the family is facing this. I am however totally impressed with Jonas Brothers. I was not a fan (they didn't hit my radar good ror bad) but they will now. What a beautiful thing you did by contacting them and they were wonderful to respond so generously!

ok- back to pretending to do something real :)

Chan......DS15 is the SAME way :headache:.....he would rather sleep all day on vacation and sit in the room doing nothing :rotfl: :rotfl:. I told him our June trip will be relaxing for him because if some of us want to go to the parks and some don't, he'll have someone to stay at the resort with :goodvibes. I'm sure my mom would get a kick out of going to the parks.....I'm just not sure how into it my dad will be :rolleyes1. But with the GF being a great place to sit and relax.....DS could keep his Papou company while the rest of us go to the park(s) for a few hours ;). My dad sits out on their deck at home all the time in the spring/summer so I know he'll just want to sit at the resort some of the time.....and there couldn't be a better place than the GF to do that :thumbsup2. Plus the heat doesn't bother him so that really won't be a factor.....it's the COLD he can't handle too well .

Shel....Not you too :rotfl: :rotfl:.....you gals are killin' me here :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

OK.....I'm with Sheli.....I better get off here and get to doing something constructive :rolleyes1. It's after 11:00 and I've done NOTHING but CHAT :rotfl2:. I will catch up with you gals in a little while :cool2:.

Deb :)

hey cheeseballs
I have been shoveling all morning and chris took the kids to walmart to look around with xmas money. I am doing laundry and now I am going to clean the kitchen and make a salad.
