Wow Marval, It sounds like HRH was interesting.

Hey, did you know they let dogs stay at the Hard Rock Hotel?
Um, nope
Did you know some of those dogs urinate in the hallway?
GROSS
Did you know turn down service knocks at your door after 10:30 pm?
I would have been PISSED!!!! Stupid people!
Did you know there is on demand tv which includes tv shows and movies? Oh yeah and also p.orn movies which have titles and descriptions that were ...just....pretty bad.
:scared1:
Did you know the minibar contains an intimacy kit which contains a clean up towellette
I'm not going to ask why you know what was in that kit. (JK!)

Glad You're back, Can't wait to hear more about the trip. The updates from there were fun.

Morning :surfweb: (i don't drink coffee so this is not accurate  )

I have so much to do today, my room is a disaster and i am starting to feel like i am gonna suffocate in the clutter. I also have a laundry back up, i have so much to fold it is embarrassing!

MY DS IS BACK AT SCHOOL TODAY! :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:  :cool1: :thumbsup2 :dance3:

PrincessP I just read the good news about Corey and Julie! I like Ferris, it is unique :) I do have to say he may get ragged a little if he asks for a day off ;)

Have a great day GALS!

Happy New Year Everyone and Welcome Back Marvel!!!

I had to read your post to my DH because our friends always say "Aren't you getting bored of Disney? Why don't you go to Universal?

Anyway, the kids and hubby went back to work and school yesterday and I ripped apart my kitchen. Today its the bedrooms!!!

Channing - Lucy's bedroom sounds beautiful. I am in the process of picking a color for my family room. I just order furniture and I need a desk. I love reds and golds and warm colors. We DO NOT paint ourselves here, we have ruined more things that way. We are terrible at it!!!!!

Kristin - I hope you feel better

Morning Gals and M :surfweb:

Today I am staying home to try and get some stuff done around here like :laundy: and ironing........we'll see how it goes :rotfl: :rotfl:. But for now I'm sitting here drinking my Eight O'clock coffee with lots of french vanilla creamer in it :rotfl2: :rotfl2:....gotta have that creamer . It was trying to snow when I took DS to school.......not looking forward to that :sad2:.

BlueSKies........Sorry for your migraine :headache:.....I hope you feel better as the day goes on . I check airfare every day but nothing has been decent enough to book for me either :rolleyes1. We've only flown SWA once so I know what you mean about once you buy you're stuck unless you pay outrageous change fees . Getting the airline tickets for me was always the "OK, no changing anything now as we're LOCKED in" theory :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Shel......You always crack me up :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Mandy......In a way I was bummed about yesterday getting here and having to get back on a regular schedule, but I knew once I got DH off to work and DSs off to school it was going to be nice having ME time again :goodvibes. Enjoy your day with DS in school :teacher:.

Hi to everyone else . Have a great day all :flower3:.

Deb :)

Annette Bored with Disney!!!:scared1: These are people who just dont get it...we hear that all the time too...dont you want to go any where else...NO not really...:rotfl:

Actually we have been to lots of different place...yet Disney is the only place we go back to over and over for a family vacation ...:)

My DH and DSs always go to Universal for a day...thats it...DD and I have a girls day...or last trip she went with them and I had some relaxing mom time:cloud9:

But even though some people truly dont get it about Disney everyone here does!!...thank goodness:)

Deb Thanks...I'm feeling better today than yesterday:goodvibes

I figure by March we should book...usually by about 3 months out...Plus I'm not even sure if all of the kids can go yet...:confused3 Keeping my fingers crossed...

But if it would end up being maybe just DD and I...well I think we could manage to enjoy a week at the GF:lovestruc

Morning everyone. I called WDW this morning to check on prices and see what they said about a code. After she gave me the information that I wanted I asked her if she could check to see if I had a code attached to my name (I did last year), I don't have AP or anything, I was just seeing what she said. She told me that they can no longer check on that in their computer system - huh? She verified my email and home address and said that everything was correct and I may/may not be getting anything. I told her thanks for checking and hung up. I think she was wrong, but I keep hoping for another kind of discount with the Disney Visa or something else, no biggie we aren't going till November. Have a good day - Lisa.

CRAIG FERGUSON GOT MARRIED????? !!!!!!!!

OMG...I cannot believe that guy. And IN A KILT!:headache:  WT....????

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

Maxie: I don't think a little cream in your coffee will hurt anything ;)

PrincessPaczki: Thanks for sharing the news about Julie!

BlueSkies: I get migranes a lot. They are the worst! Usually when I get one I go to bed right after I get home from work at 6 and sleep stright through until the next morning. I hope you feel better:flower3:

Chan isnt gonna be happy...

:rotfl:

Wow Marval, It sounds like HRH was interesting.
I'm not going to ask why you know what was in that kit. (JK!)

:lmao:

Lisa: That dosen't sound right? Maybe you just got an uninformed CM? Try calling back and talking to someone else. I just make an excuse to hang up when I don't like the answer they give me (or know it is wrong) and then call back and talk to another CM. Sometimes it takes 3-4 tries :rolleyes1

CRAIG FERGUSON GOT MARRIED????? !!!!!!!!

:rotfl2:

Having major drama with one member of my bridal party this morning  which has made me in a bad mood even though I am trying not to let it get to me :headache: I FEEL MEAN! Actually, on the way to work "it keeps gettin' better" by Christina Agulara (I'm sure I butchered that) was playing, and that is what I really feel like: Super*itch

Have a great day everyone!

Have a great day everyone

Wendy: What I meant was the Hard Rock in Vegas is known for being wild and crazy. You'd think that the Orlando HRH would be more family oriented being in a theme park. But it doesn't sound like it is. I was there 8 years ago, I have no idea what's the same and what has changed but when they told us it's supposed to be a replica of a rock star's mansion, everything then fit into place for us. We didn't get that Disney-family feeling from them at all. We've never returned and have no plans to in the future. Just didn't care for it.

Anyone ever stay at the Hyatt Grand Cypress? We saw it on the Travel Channel with Samantha Brown. The resort is huge and looks very relaxing. There's a ton to do onsite. It looks like a great place to stay a day or two to relax away from the parks. I think it's located right behind MK. They say you can see the fireworks from the balconies.

Okay, one kid down for the night, one to go
Mare

Mare - Hi! I was responding to Marvel's post. I actually didn't see yours. But I agree with everyone, Universal and Disney are definitely apples and oranges.
We've only been twice to Universal - once at Hard Rock and once at Portofino. We enjoyed both visits but we definitely prefer Disney! :)

Chan - I'm so sorry to hear about Craig Ferguson!
Don't worry - we will be seeing some men in kilts in ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!!

Deb- - My kids do like Universal ,but they are 13 and 10. I think its definitely better for older kids. We had added a few days onto our Spring Break trip to go to Universal, but we decided just to stay at Vero Beach for the week and RELAX! Nobody wanted to do theme parks over Easter.
The Portofino is more like the GF but it was so spread out and there was no one there when we went so it was a little eerie. I guess I should have appreciated having the place to ourselves , but it was kind of boring!
After Marvel's report, we may have to go back to Portofino and try it again if we go back to Universal.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Wendy
we stayed at PBH when we did Universal. It was OK. I thought the rooms were dark. I just don't like that Italian style at all...it's kinda fussy. I missed not having a balcony....do any of those hotels have balconies?

OH! Wendy!! Limited Too sent me a code 649 for 50% off anything....not sure if you got that. They messed up a Christmas order of mine...and I guess lots of other people too....sent a form letter of apology and the code good thru Feb.

Morning all. Well....I am calmed down after my bad news. (LOL KEL...I laughed out loud when I read that "Chan's not gonna be happy".:rotfl: )

BlueSkies,
I am glad you're feeling better. Migraines are no fun.:guilty:

Princess P..thanks for the good news about Corey and Julie.

Ferris is kind of a cute name. I wonder though if they will call him that or have a nickname. It seems OLD imo...*not to be snarky*;) ...my girls have OLD names...but they are shortened to nicknames. Even though I am feeling snarky due to Craig sneaking off and getting married in Vermont.......:rolleyes1

Amy, that is crummy about the pre wedding drama. I hope it blows over. I think every wedding has some of that. Isn't it funny how sometimes the PERFECT song seems to play on the radio?!:rotfl:

Lisa
, I would definitely call back. Enough people have reported they have had codes when the CMs check. Those CMs seem like they are getting wackier and wackier. Good luck! The dates for November were slim though...but you never know..it might be worth another call. Did you get AAA? You might be able to at least get that discount.

OK...I forgot what else I was gonna say......:rotfl: MORE COFFEE NEEDED.:surfweb:

TTYL,
Chan

OK.......I just looked outside and we've got about an INCH of snow already :scared1: . I've had my head in the computer for so long that I was oblivious as to what was going on outside :rotfl: :rotfl:. I'm glad I'm home for the day because I'm in no mood to run around in this nasty weather :rolleyes1.

Amy.....I'm sorry you're having a problem with a bridal party member :sad2:. As if doing all the planning and making sure everything is perfect for your special day isn't stressful enough :headache:. I hope things get resolved .

Wendy.....One of these days we'll give Universal a try . I just have to add a couple of days prior to a Disney trip as I'm not willing to take any days away from Disney :rotfl: :rotfl:. I was telling DH about Marvel's post and he was kinda like "huh???" :rotfl2:. I think Chan has stayed at Portofina once too :confused3? Those hotels do look very nice.....but now the only picture I have in my head is of a dog peeing in the hallway :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

OK......off to shower and then get some things done around here.....TTYL!!!!

Deb :upsidedow

Deb :upsidedow

Hi, Deb...yah I heard you guys south will be getting some today! We aren't..it's just gray and cold out. I am sick of being COLD.

We did stay at PBH...I think it was 2 or 3 yrs ago during spring break in March. It was great hving the front of the line but the parks didn't thrill me at all. The hotel was very pretty but I hate Italian....I only stayed there because HRH wasn't available and I heard the other one isn't as nice....but now I am hearing mixed...not sure. I didn't see any dogs at all. I thought they wre in one certain section of the hotels though. Maybe Marvel got put in teh doggie section because of baby M.:rotfl: What we saw were TONS and TONS of cheerleaders!! The place was CRAWLING with cheerleaders. I just don't like that style of the hotel...and we were only there 3 or 4 nights...didn't even make it to the pool or City Walk. We were kin of bored actually.:rotfl: UO is not our thing. Not even DS's thing. The coasters were broken...two were the hulk and that dueling one...we did like Men in Black but that's about ti - oh the Cat in the Hat ride lol...I think I went on that 50 times wiht the girls. That's about all they'd go on! :rotfl:

Chan

The birthday party falling on Super Bowl Sunday was only a problem when he was little. Now we just go out to dinner and it is great because the restaurants are empty, no problem getting a table.

Oooh, that's good to know for when he's older! :thumbsup2 I think we're going to go to Mary Poppins. I have to see if there's any tickets available for that weekend. I'd prefer to go to the 2pm show. Hope they're still 50% off!

Mare What kind of ff 1/2 &1/2 do you use...anything that I've tried has tasted pretty yukky...

I go to a store that has it's own dairy farm, so they make their own. It's just out of the city and so much fun to shop in, my kids love it. They have a petting zoo, ice cream shop, coffee bar, disney-like character displays thru out the store. Like a baker in the bakery section flying on a trapeze or Chicita Banana singing by the bananas. The NY Times said it's like the Disney Land of Dairy Stores (they made sure to plaster that quote at the entrance of the store!). Here's the link, it's always featured on the food channel. I saw an episode recently of The Ham on the Street Show was there. http://www.stewleonards.com/html/about.cfm http://www.stewleonards.com/StewPix/stewpix.cfm

Deb I have not gotten my airline tickets yet:confused: I like to wait just a little longer...because for most airlines once you buy the tickets as we all know you are locked in unless you want to pay a huge change fee:mad: except SW of course...I have been checking theirs too...nothing great yet...

I have to purchase our airfare as soon as it's selling, it NEVER goes down in price - always increases. And drastically. It could be $104 today and $259 tomorrow.:scared1: DH will only fly Jet Blue, he likes the TVs. He's a bad flyer and very comfortable with them. I wish we had other options out of NYC but we don't. Jet Blue is the only low-cost airline. Delta and American are pricey to go to FL.

Chan isnt gonna be happy !

:rotfl:

Did you know turn down service knocks at your door after 10:30 pm?
I would have been PISSED!!!! Stupid people!

Sounds like the same housekeeping schedule they have at the BWI!

Annette: Happy New Year! My SIL doesn't get our love of WDW. She always says How can you keep going back?? Why don't you go someplace else?? It's just the perfect family vacation for us, it offers us something for everyone.

We've traveled to many places too. We just like going back to where we're most comforable.

Wendy: Maybe you're right about it being NYE at the HRH, the adult party items come out :rotfl2:

Marvel: How was NYE at the HRH and City Walk???

PrincessP and Mandy: Congrats to Julie and Corey!! :yay: Ferris is cute, different. You're right about the day off!! :rotfl2:

Can I rant that I want Disney to release the Extra Magic Hours for June already!!! This is really annoying me!!!! :headache:  :headache:

Need a refill of my Starbuck Winter Blend with sugar free hazelnut creamer (it was on sale and I needed a change ;))

Mare

Channing Sorry to hear about Craig:sad2:

Amy Oh no..pre wedding drama...theres always gotta be some(unfortunately!!)...I bet we all have a story...just think that in two weeks you'll be having your dream wedding and honeymoon....

Mare Thanks for that link...stew leonards is great!! I have sent gift baskets from there on several occasions...

When will the June EMH be coming out...:confused3 soon I hope!

Afternoon Gals :)

I've gotten a few things done today ;). I ironed, have my second load of laundry in, and just finished baking DS some cookies :goodvibes. It is STILL snowing here but I do love to watch it when I know I don't have to go anywhere in it :rotfl: :rotfl:. DS is probably loving it thinking he can go snowmobiling after school but so far it hasn't snowed enough to get good grass covering....so he may be a little disappointed when he gets home .

Hope everyone is having a good day :yay:.

Deb :flower3:

Mare Thanks for that link...stew leonards is great!! I have sent gift baskets from there on several occasions...

My whole family loves Stew Leonards. It's like an outting for us they really keep you there with the BBQ and petting zoo. And their snow crab salad on a hot bagel is to die for! :cloud9:

Not that I've eaten a bagel recently! :rotfl2: Had a WW Salsbury Steak entree for lunch :thumbsup2 So far, so good. What is it like day two! :rotfl:

I have a feeling the June EMHs will be released at the 90 day mark for June. Which would really screw me up since I'll have to be calling for my ADRs at that time. I'd like a little time to re-arrange things to accomodate the EMH - I doubt that will happen. I have my ADR list and went over everything with DH and he's happy. He wants lots of downtime. Lots of time at the pool relaxing. I told him the only thing he has to do is get up early for breakfast. He can't sleep in. The boys are up at the crack of dawn :rotfl: DH can sleep on a lounge chair by the pool! :beach:

I still haven't inquired if you can book the cabanas at the same time you book all the ADRs??? I'm planning on booking everything at once. ADRs, Cabana, Segway tour and then my spa massage (I know the spa directly, but I'm doing it all at the same time)

Marvel: Are you happy we're getting snow??? They're saying just sleet and ice. It's going to be messy :headache:

Amy: I feel for you hon! I had so much drama with my bridal party, they were such a bunch of b!tches around each other. What a headache! :headache: Just think positive - you're getting married in the happiest place on earth!! :wizard:

Maxie: Don't worry about the full fat cream. Richard Simmons once said "a little of this didn't make you fat, you KNOW what made you fat!! I always think of that when they don't have splenda around and I have have to use real sugar. One sugar is not going to RUIN my diet :rotfl2: The donuts will :upsidedow

Deb: I noticed you stayed at the Country Inn and Suites, I'm considering them for a stay in Lancaster this Sept. There's going to be a "Day out with Thomas" event at the Strasburg Rail Road there. We went two years ago and it was cute. We stayed at a very nice Best Western, but it wasn't on the main strip. They have a Country Inn and Suites right on the strip, what did you think of it?

I hate going somewhere where there's only budget chain motels. You never know what you're going to get.
