DS had a nice time at Homecoming . It was SO COLD last night ....not a good night to be out but the kids all had fun . Something must have happened though because when we went to pick up DS there were a bunch of policemen looking for a girl . We pulled up and were waiting and one policeman came up to the truck and DH told him we were there to pick up our son and he was like "oh....not a daughter??" But the way he said it was weird....like he thought he may have found the girl or her parents or something . And as were leaving the parking lot, we saw some squad cars actually stopping others as they were coming in to talk to them......so it was something serious . Then this morning around 5:00 DH was getting ready to leave to go hunting and there were about 3 or 4 county police driving our neighborhood with their big spot lights looking for someone . I haven't heard anything about it yet this morning but it's very scary!!!!! And Vanessa......sounds like you had a VERY WEIRD week........lots of strange things going on in the world today.....kinda scary!!!!

Deb: I can't see your tree either. I had to right click on the image then select properties. I hightlighted this (the URL):

Then right clicked on the highlighted text and selected copy. Then I went to the icon that looks like a mountain with the yellow background, erased the http:// that was already there, right clicked, and hit paste.

Vanessa........Here is the post from Amy who helped me get the tree in my siggie . Dawn also sent me instructions on how to do it but I could only get the link to show up and not the actual tree . After Amy posted this it took me about 4 or 5 tries but I finally got it . I'm computer challenged so if I can get it, you can too . Hope this helps you get your tree up and dancing .



Maxie.....Homecoming was nice . Glad you had a nice time in Newport listening to DS's DGF sing . Sounds like a very nice place . I'm sorry you've got a cold . I hope you start to feel better soon so you can enjoy your trip . I can't wait to get back to Disney next December......when we were there in 2003 the Osborne Lights were down so we didn't get to see those . You are going to have a great time . Enjoy all the beautiful decorations .

Maxie, you should go online and sign up for SPG and add the number to your ressie. They will automatically upgrade you at check in. Or..if they don't, just ask and they will. There are a few other little SPG perks also. They have a special line on the phone system for any needs you might have etc...also...like an SPG concierge. Joining SPG is free & you do not have to stay on points. Points are just a bonus. I sometimes do, sometimes don't. BUt...you will accrue points and you can use them at any Starwood property anywhere in the world. That's why I asked about you being SPG...just an FYI....it's an awesome program.

The Vanderbilt mansion sounds gorgeous!!! And HUGE!!! Glad you had a nice night.

Vanessa...that is HORRIBLE!!! How creepy about that wackjob and saying you're dead. omg....people are freaks. I hope he gets in a lot of trouble for that. What an idiot. Wow...you better get your stuff wrapped and sent. UPS will charge you an arm and a leg to guarantee the Xmas arrival (prior to Xmas) and so the closer it is til Christmas you are losing headway!! GEt that stuff wrapped!!!! On SWA yes, two bags. The tree has to meet the luggage requirements though...as far as size and weight. Or you could just ship it down.

DEb...omg..that is scary. Something funky went down. Hopefully it has a happy ending. Keep us posted.

Mare sorry you had issues what were they?

When we first arrived, we went to Epcot for lunch. At the International Gateway, we discovered that we didn't have park tickets on our room keys, just our meal plan. Guest Services called the BWI and the BWI had no record of us purchasing a ticket package! GS gave us complimentary one day park hopper ticket to let us into Epcot to have lunch. They told BWI DO NOT delete their room keys as their meal plan is on it. I order lunch at the Tangerine Cafe and my card is rejected! Mad, I head to the BWI and pass GS on the way out. GS called BWI, they canceled our cards and CHARGED us almost $900 for park passes! I head to GS at the BWI and they finally found our park passes attached to our package and comp us lunch credits. I didn't realize at the time, they assigned the WRONG ticket package.

Days later, DH and DS4 go to Disney Quest only to discover that we didn't have the correct park tickets. We paid for water park fun and more. The BWI again had no record of it. I phoned the Innkeeper's Desk and they were useless. They told me they'd need to see my "paperwork". I was actually shopping at the GF. So I headed to GS at MK. There they phoned GS at DTD to issue DH a refund.

We also had someone walk into our room at 10pm at night telling us we were supposed to be checked out! We had just checked in only 2 days prior! A manager then phoned us asking why we weren't out of the room. Their computer had us check out!!! Again, we were worried about losing our meal credits and park tickets. We never got to the bottom of this. We obviously never checked out and they didn't throw us out

There's a lot more minor stuff (yes, 7 pages worth of screw ups!). This was the most inconvenient.

They kept charging stuff to our cc when we were on the DxDDP. How does the CMs in the CL not know what package we're on???

The CL lounge was horrible! No kids area. No juice boxes. TV on just for the CMs. Awful food offerings, nothing healthy. Sugary cereals.

We enjoyed the location, but the staff are just a bunch of idiots.

I had to complain as this was our worst WDW stay in almost 10 years of being loyal WDW vacationers. We had a fabulous stay at the GF, we stayed GV and were treated like VIPs. I had to compare the service. GF knows how to make their guest feel special. They need to give the BWI some lessons on Disney Magic. It's lacking at the BWI.

Mare....hate to say I TOLD YA SO..... I hate that BWI. We had our worst stay there EVAH. Live and learn. (DON"T STAY AT BWI is what I have learned!! )

Maxie...you are lucky you got switched. Great about the SPG!! And make sure your number is on your ressie. There is also a special SPG ressie 800 phone number. They are very nice and helpful. Have a wonderful time.

Siobhan...you need YC. You so need to change outa that BWI. I am not kidding. I know you have your heart set on GF...we all do...but YC is better than BWI. SERIOUSLY. Make the switch. I am afraid you will be sorry if you don't.

I am just dinking around til my friend comes. I supposed I should straighten up the house....but she won't care. Maybe I will bake some of those 5 types of cookie dough we made.... I swear I must have ADD...I do stuff and then move on w/out finishing it.

TTYL...just got back from Target with Lucy...we went to buy her black band shoes. And lots of other junk....that store is a killer.....I can never escape without spending a lot.

Well my winter wonderland was nice to see overnight but it is all gone this morning. Im happy i got that much.

Marvel- You made me very nervous when I read your post. I have not wrapped any gifts to mail out yet. Actually I do not even know what I have or where it is all at. I am such a slacker when it is actually time to start preparing for a trip. Hope you guys are all feeling well! Any ideas on the weather forecast for our trip??

mrs.m took the kids to a friends house to make gingerbread houses so i had a few hours to wrap and pack my 3rd box. There is a UPS store open until 5pm tonight so maybe i'll get those out today.
I've kept a list of presents to bring and those to keep home but it feels like time is flying and I only have one more day off , next sunday, before we leave a week after that so I've been trying to keep things moving. Before we leave we also have the kids' school Christmas concert, a Rosary altar Christmas party, and my sons birthday.


I keep checking weather but i think we are 3 to 4 days before our dates are shown. I will enjoy 70s day and 50 nights. We have a high of 37 here today.

They STILL DO!!! I put it on every Christmas morning! Many cable channels air it too. I have to put it on just for old times sake. I love opening our presents with the Yule Log on.

We have a wood-burning fire place in the Poconos. We love it! But it costs a small fortune to buy the wood per sack. We're not there enough to get a seasonal delivery. Nor do we have a place to store a truck load of logs

I just realized the ADR system is not available for any ADRs past March! I'm going to have to be on watch for it. I don't want to miss booking a Fantasmic Dinner Pkg. My boys have never seen Fantasmic, I'd really like to get an ADR for June. I also really want to go back to Le Cellier. DH and I really enjoyed our steaks. The appetizers were not good

The park hours and EMH are not out either for May and June.

To make this whole thing worse, Jet Blue has no bookings available past April 30th. Ugh! What are they in cahoots with WDW!!

I am 3 pages behind on my responses right now, but I wanted to give you guys an update on my "fun" weekend. And thank you all for your well wishes.

I have been totally , stomach flu sick! Not fun any time, but super, duper not fun with a Lap-Band. The band makes my stomach into a tight hour glass. Stuff wants to come up with the flu, but the band does not want to let that happen. Virus wins and up it comes, but not without pain and swelling. The swelling is the big problem. The previously tight hourglass decided to shut down all together. So after 24 hours with no fluids I went to the ER. They gave me 3 bags of IV fluids, but they didn't know how to fix the band. LOVELY! So they sent me home, rehydrated, but still miserable.
Thankfully the anti-nausea meds helped me sleep through the night. But when I got up this morning it was more of the same...try to sip water, up comes the water. Nothing was going through that band. I realized that yesterday I should have called the hopsital where the band was done, so I called them today. The doc was none too thrilled with me making him come in on a Sunday, but once I got to the ER there (over an hour away), he was great! I was miserable, in pain, sick! And he knew it. But he took all the fluid out of my band. Now I have an empty bracelet for my stomach, and when the sewlling goes down I am going to be HUNGRY! GREAT! Hungry for X-mas and new years and a birthday party! UGH!!!!
Please wish me some self control, and minimal weight gain!

I truly feel tons better now, but I am scared of the next 3 weeks of hunger.

V, i sent my 3 different sized boxes tonight. UPS ground for $44.
They should be there thursday...Thats earlier than i thought it would be.

Hey Sheli...... OMG how horrible, honey!

I never even thought about the lap band and the problems it causes when you have to be sick. Actually sounds like it could be really dangerous.

When are they planning on tightening it again? I hear ya about the whole cravings and all..... Like Kristin told me once chew some gum!

Hey everyone, we made it and it is beautiful. We have a quiet pool view in Boca Chica. I took some pictures and posted them on the other GF thread.

Channing, I took my mom in the Basin store, she was very impressed - I thought of you. We bought a few things, and will return for more later.

We got to the MK @ 10 today and was happily excited over the crowds. We walked right on Pirates, Splash and Big Thunder railroad. HM had a 20 minute wait - and we were to spoiled, and didn't want to wait (we laughed at ourselves). Peter pan was 50 mins @ 12:30, that area was getting busy - so we headed to other areas. We'll I better be going, it is almost 11 and we are meeting my parents 8:30 tomorrow. I'll try to post more pictures tomorrow - Lisa.

I can't sleep - yeah I'm in Disney, so I thought I'd type. I had to tell a quick story about our Christmas tree situation here. I ordered from Peggy (before she went to work for the Disney Florist). I had told her through emails that she could come into our room after 6:15 because we would be at dinner. I went to the front desk and had a key set up for her. At 5:45, there was a knock on the door. My DH was in the shower and I was walking towards the door, when it opened. It was Peggy. She had both of my trees (I had ordered one for my parents room also), the stuffed animals and whatever other stuff she had planned in a big box and bags. I told here were trying to get ready and if she could come back, well her friend with her couldn't and she had just used the one time room key. I ended up taking all of the stuff from her and told her we would do it ourselves. She was very sorry about the mix up of time, I told her no problem and we would fix it up after dinner. I did notice that there was a note on the bag that said 6:15 - of well, we had fun decorating our rooms, stuff happens. It was just a little confusing there for a few minutes. The trees and stuffed animals are cute, so that's all that matters. I better get going, I'll try to check in later tonight - Lisa.

Today is the day...... our fur baby comes home! We can't wait! I was at Target Sat and looked at all the cute dog sweaters, I can't wait to go shopping! I can't believe I am excited, a month ago I was dreading the thought of animals and fur and the like.

We had about 2 inches of snow yesterday and it is cold today. BRRRRR I do not even want to go out of the house.

Just trying to get the last minute laundry done. I have most of our clothes ironed, folded and on the guest room bed ready to throw in the suitcases Wed night. I think I am ready, but know I will remember something I forgot to do.

A 8 month old Weimaraner and we have named her Gabby. We are excited! My kids have no clue! Last night during prayer time my DS6 prayed that we could find the right dog to join our family! WE have not even led on so I almost started crying.
